Yea, situations like that are why im glad im taking a break from trading. Though that fatass at the Land o lakes store still gives me the stinkeye.

I didn' t sell the Teal, I bought a Teal for my daughter and sold the old platinum one - I thought $110 for a used platinum was pretty good.
 
yeah... after trading Geist this coming weekend.. i'll DEFINITELY stop for awhile..... can't wate my time driving around too much anymore.. since i didn't have much time outside of the house in the beginning ;)

It was the chubby black woman... she acted like I was commiting some kind of crime as soon as I slid ONE COPY across the desk... when I told her it was my personal copy and I had no clue what she was talking about, she shut up very fast.

I just assumed it was you since I thought we nailed all the Geists in this whole region between the two of us... I didn't think you would turn in CAG, but I guess I jumped the gun since I was pissed the lady jumped down MY throat almost immediately. My bad, and I apologize.

She mentioned calling another store and talking to them about it, because the guy who traded today before me told her all about how a website "supposedly has trade in values for Blockbuster so they know where to buy the games for cheap and trade them in to make a huge profit". The person who did that, sorry, you're a dumbass, I'm glad you put all the stores in Saint Petersburg on some kind of alert now... the employee not only let all the current employees know about the Geist deal, but the ones coming in now know about it too.

Elmyra - The Clearwater stores are oblivious, dump some Geists down there. I took one down to Enterprise Rd today, guy didn't even blink at the trade in value so I assume no one has gone there. I will probably dump the last two at either that store or Gulf To Bay tommorrow definately.

I really wish GR would start some kind of deal... after the 25% ended, I found copies of Fatal Frame 3 and Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows today used, as well as a whole shitload of newer PSP games. Almost feel like GR was holding back on me.

DMC 3 fetched $12 in credit, as well, and no sign of DMC 3 SE.

If you guys aren't using your credit on preorder deals, what are you using it on? The GR's here don't have much in the way of new games, and they don't really have any used games that are jumping out at me to buy them. I basacially just use mine on movies now... picked up a new copy of 40 Year Old Virgin ($21.99 though... BB is crazy) and a used copy of Exocerism of Emily Rose Unrated ($12.99...wow!!) for about less then $20 in real money.
 
I'm down to about $13 credit for personal use. :D

Finally dumped all my GR credit into $50 and $25 gift cards and I found a few games to sell for profit on Ebay. One was another used Phoenix Wright, case was roughed up so i'll just swap out one of mine and then sell it. Last one I found sold for $45. :) I sold a couple gift cards already even if after all fees and stuff I only get $.80 on the dollar i'm making money and moving it to spendable cash that has no worries of something not coming in on time or at all.


OT:
Renters insurance is a MUST and it's only like $125-150 a year or cheaper if you have a car insurance policy with that company. The first apartment complex I ever lived at when I moved away from home way back when, I saw half a building get gutted from a kid playing with a lighter. Most of the people were poor and had no insurance, so now they were poor and had nothing.... I ran out the next day and got insurance.

I got some recent releases I hadn't gotten around to buying yet (The Warriors, Shadow of the Colossus, etc.) and bought a replacement XBox (new), since mine had died.

Are the teal bundles going for $300 these day, because there was still one about a week ago at a local gamerush. I could turn my $150 gr credit into $300 cash

Yea, i think they were holding the more popular games in the back, cuz it was kinda wierd that 1-3 copies of 8 different xbox 360 games would be traded in the day after the sale is over.

I'm 99.9% sure the games weren't on the shelf just because they were too "busy" (e.g. lazy) to put them out. I had to ask for all of the 360 games I got. None of them were even price stickered yet because they have to manually create the price stickers for them. When the sale ended they had to rework the entire GR section to remove all of the 25% off signage, so it makes sense that they would put out a lot of games while they were reworking the section.
 
Went to GR to trade Echo Night and Geist, and I saw a stack of PS2 games, a PS2 system, and one lonely N64 game behind the counter some one had just trade in before I got there. I asked what the N64 title was and my jaw dropped when the guy told me it was Paper Mario. I told him I wanted to buy it and he said he couldn't sell it because the machine that printed out the price stickers was down and he didn't know how much it was. I knew it'd be gone if I didn't grab it, so I tried to talk him into selling with no luck.

Looked around at the games and my wife grabbed some movies to rent, then I went to check out and another guy was now working the register. I tried my luck again and asked if he could sell me the copy of Paper Mario behind him. He said, "sure, of course I can" and rang it up...sells for $14.99 at Gamerush, so definitely a good deal...I would have taken it even if I didn't have $200 in GR credit to blow.

Anyway, the other guy came up and said something about how I must have beat the 2 games I just traded in really fast since they look new...sounded a little sarcastic...so I think maybe he knows what's up and maybe that's why he didn't want to sell me Paper Mario...either that or he was planning on grabbing it for himself.

Whenever they tell me "Wow, your games look so new" I just tell them "Yea, I take good care of them because I'm an adult" and they usually don't say anything else.

It's like they want me to throw them across the parking lot before trading them in.
 
I haven't start milking GR (been busy studying for MCAT) but you can make about 6 bucks from Nightmare Of Druaga (PS2), it 12.99 at GS, and they give you whatever is posted on the first page of this thread.

Edit: its a pity that I have tons of GS with kuons and ENB, and even more BB around me, but don't have the time to make a profit.
 
Traded in Geist for $24. And then realized that there were now two $3 phone survey coupons that TRU gave me that I missed out on by forgetting to call :p Ah well. Probably one more Geist getting traded in to GR (been doing it at my BB) this weekend if I feel better and go to GameStop.
 
for those who are wondering, GR (my store only?) wont take games that have accesories, such as time crisis, taiko drum master, etc. such a pity.

They won't take them without the accompanying accessories, or won't take them at all?
 
said it wouldnt take em at all, no price came up. no harm asking them if its a game that never came with an accessory, but when i asked, they didnt take accessories (by themselves) or games with accessories. I guess in my case, time crisis crisis zone was only listed as "with gun"

So about 11:00 am today, I called them and asked, did any 360s come in with the shipment today? 'Yep, we have 8 of them.' I asked if they were for sale and not for preorder. 'They are for sale' she said. I drove my happy butt over there and picked up a premium 360.

I feel silly for not thinking of this sooner.
 
I got the call as soon as I got home from work today. Mine got a few Premiums, a few hard drives, and a few copies of call of duty. Finally.

That's funny because I got a call today from GR telling me Xbox360's were in. Must be system-wide, if we got them way out here at the same time. I had signed up on the initial signup sheet very late, but never put any money down. I told them thanks, but I wasn't looking for one any more. If any CAG's want one and are willing to pay shipping I'll pick one up - good way to convert my credit to cash I suppose, though I'm not sure I want to convert THAT much credit :D.
 
Yeah, today I went in to my GR and they had a Core 360 and a Hard Drive in stock. I have enough money for both but decided to wait on a Premium coming in stock later. What's the difference between a Core and a Premium besides the HD (I'm getting one if I go to pick up the Core), and the wireless controller (don't care if it's wireless or not)? I traded in 2 copies of Geist for $48. Now I have $209.51 in credit, and $220 cash. Needless to say, I'm getting a 360 with that money :D. I'm probably gonna get PD0 so I'll see you guys on.

My local GR does that all the time, too. They "save" the newest stuff in the drawer behind the GR counter instead of on shelves. I usually ask what good stuff they have used, and they'll look and tell me.

Traded in some more copies of Geist and Kuon today... also saw some premium 360's up at the Enterprise Road store.

I wish a deal would come up though... so far all I've got are movies and Dragon Warrior 1 + 2 for GBC for $9.99 (decent enough price).

No sign of DMC 3 SE at all.

For $100 less, the core package comes with (1) wired controller, standard A/V cable, and the console, while the premium system throws in extra goodness like the hard drive, remote, HD cables, and a wireless controller.

There's your difference. No clue on the remote anymore, and im not sure on the headset...but that wireless controller compared to wired would get me to buy a premium alone.

Basically, you'd have to be an idiot to buy the core edition. Wait for the premium...better yet wait for PS3 or revolution. Also you want that 360 headset since the plastic band goes on top of your head instead of behind it making it much more comfortable.

Thanks, ManChowder. I have a copy of MGS2 and at Gamestop they give like fifty cents for it so next time I hit Gamerush that will be another 10 toward my GR/BB fund.

Well, I can understand where your coming from Bezerker when it comes to selling your 360 to try to get a HDTV. Since, I will probably get myself a HDTV this year for Christmas and play my 360 when I get on my old 20 inch until I can get the HDTV.

Is Shadow Hearts: Covenant really $29.99 at GR? I thought the MSRP dropped to $19.99 everywhere months and months ago.

BTW - Anyone in Tampa Bay who wants Dragon Warrior 3 for GBC, the GR on Gulf to Bay has two of them as of this afternoon, for $9.99 a piece.
 
I'm saving my credit for a PS3 (if GR lasts that long). I only have $200...didn;t flip like most of you here (only 2 copies max). I don't want to risk getting banned.

Funny thing is, I don't really want a PS3. I probably won't even hook it up to my MAIN TV, but I just ordered a 26" LCD....so, it may work it.

Over several years of trading at Blockbuster/Gamerush I've racked up close to $1000 in credit on value cards. Like doubledown, I'm unloading it all on the PS3 (and games, too)!!! Hopefully BB/GR won't go belly under... :pray: I recently subscribed to their online DVD rentals so now they have 1 more paying customer to contribute to their cash flow...

Yep, I know I can always sell mine if they go for outrageous prices like the 360.

I'm sure someone here will let us know when the PS3 is available for pre-order. I guess we need a release date soon.

Just wondering if anyone knew or bought it there, since I forgot to get a price check and I can't remember what GR I saw it at (so no point in calling).

Does anyone know how long it takes GR to update their prices? EB / GS just dropped Suikoden Tactics to $29.99 new, I might pick that up if GR if they also drop it.
 
I'm pretty sure the PS3 isn't going to come out until at least Winter of this year, so who knows if GR will be gone by then or not. :cry:
