Did the same last night. My GR got 1 Premium, and I got it. :) Haven't even hooked it up yet, trying to sell off some games to pay for it. :cry:

Trapt should get over $20, since it is still a $49.99 game, probably sells used for $45... I'm going to go ahead and guess on $24 as the credit for that. Stella Deus MIGHT get $20 or over as well, depending on how much GR sells it for new / used since I've never seen a copy there.

Traded in my 4th and last copy of Geist today, leaving me with some $220+ in credit. Already have two games preordered (well, 3 if you count Twilight Princess), I think I have 4 or 5 more to deal with over February and March, which this should cover.
 
If anyone is going to a GR soon, can anyone check to see if Suikoden Tactics has dropped price to $29.99 like EB / GS.

I called the local store, but they have no clue about the game, even though I just saw a new copy there yesterday. "Sui....ko what??"
 
So I rolled up to gamestop and saw they had a buy 2 get 1 free deal on used games sale. So I picked out the one copy of kuon I found and looked around in the piles of other cheap ps2 games to maybe get a couple of cheap used games but there was nothing worth getting. When I brough the kuon up to the counter I noticed the guy pulled a completely different copy out of the glass case, which meant they had 2. So I decided I would get two copies and something else. So I went to the $10+ ps2 games section of the store, and there I saw it. My own personal holy grail of gaming. A copy of klonoa 2 for only 19.99. I figured the disc would be scratched straight to hell but I thought it was worth a shot. I asked to see the disc before I bought the game. I'll tell you my brothers once I had that disc in my hand I became so overwhelmed by the mint conditioness of it that I nearly fainted.

So I copped 2 copies of kuon and a mint condition scratch-free klonoa 2 for 30 total.

Went over to the local gamerush to trade in the kuons. While I was there I spotted AoLat in the children's section, he had picked out a new Dora the Explorer DVD.
 
After pawning off some Geists, Kuon and Echo Nights, ended up with $230 in credit. Got a Teal DS bundle and have 70 left over - prob use it for Grandia 3 or wait to see what the next promotion is

Hell, even my 3 year-old has outgrown Dora :D

I've traded in 4 Geists so far:

1 to GS to get a slight discount on Kuon and Echo Night Beyond
1 to Blockbuster
2 to Gamecrazy - got Phoenix Wright sealed for $22 and Atelier Iris sealed for $12 as a result

I might take another to BB, but then again I might go for some more Gamecrazy goodness. Have to spread the love after all...
 
What does Burnout Revenege get (XBOX)?

I have the 360 version (on order)....I'm hoping they would have another trade-promotion because I have probably 4-5 XBOX games I don't want.

You guys are fucking hilarious, let me tell you. And YOU were the one that got both Kuons?! You son of a bitch! I went to Livonia mall to get one because they said they were in stock online, but when I got there, I asked if they had any in, and the guy said that both of them had been bought by the same guy at the same time. :bomb: I wanted those! Then I could've picked up DMC used for free. I hate you sev. But at least I got the copies of Geist from TRU. :D What time were you at GR, I saw a guy looking at the homosexual porn section, debating between what looked like something Christopher Walken starred in to something that starred the guy that voices Krusty Krab from Spongebob SquarePants. Sev has an odd taste in movies. BTW I was at GR around... 6:53. And io, thanks for your 2 cents, old man. ;)

It only sells for $34.99 used... I would imagine like $15 or $16? Maybe $18 if you're lucky.

How often does GR do price changes on new games, does anyone know? And does anyone know if they do price adjustments... say I buy a game for $50, two days later its $30, do they refund the difference?

I wouldn't count on them refunding the difference. If you kept it sealed (and had a receipt) you could return it for the $50 of course and rebuy at $30. But then that probably defeats the purpose of buying a brand new $50 game that you probably want to play right away :D.

As for finding out about price drops, you'll have to just have them scan it (or call and be lucky enough to find an employee who knows what Suikoden is :D). I keep asking about Suikoden I/II PSP preorders and having to spell it out very carefully (now that I found out it hasn't even been announced for the US yet I will stop wasting my time - next up is Valkyrie Profile, ugh, why do all these RPG's have to be difficult to pronounce/spell!?). Of course, at Gamecrazy the other day I had to spell "Phoenix" for the guy so he could look in the computer to see if they had Phoenix Wright :roll:. At least with Suikoden it is a little understandable.

Wow those Gamecrzy deals are awesome!! I wish I could find both of those games at that price. Did Gamecrazy give you a good value for Geist?

I found a YMMV Atelier Iris at $19.99 at just ONE store - all others it appears to be $29.99. I just posted in the GC sale thread about that. Geist gets $18.18 without the MVP card at GC, so the prices I quoted are the retail of the games ($19.99 for Atelier, $29.99 for Phoenix Wright), minus $18.18, plus the $9.98 I bought Geist for at TRU.
 
Are any of the rest of you having problems now trading Kuon/ENB? Most of the Dallas area BB's/GR's won't take them anymore. They are hip to the GS prices and instead of lowering their trade value to $10 simply aren't taking them period. You can find a store every now and then that will (drove around 2 hours tonite to trade 3 Kuon's) but they are few and far between (and even further so then they were yesterday). My trading of those 2 titles is over with - they can still be had at GS but trading them is getting to be impossible. Most of the stores that are refusing them have 0 to only 1 copy on the shelf so it isn't a problem of too much supply either.

Well that is the fun part about the Trading Policies of each BB/GR they can at their own discression stop taking trades on any game they want. It states it if you ask to see the trading policy that I have seen at several of my local BB.

So, if they stopped taking them then that is their right.
 
Oh don't get me wrong, I never said it wasn't - was simply inquiring if this is shutting down for others as well. It certainly is here in the Dallas area - so that is information that I'm sure some CAG's in my area can use if they haven't figured it out allready.

I do have a problem if a store gets testy with you even though you are staying within the guidelines of the trade agreement (no more than 2 copies of a title per day) but that was never the issue in my case all of the area BB's have been nice and cordual, most just aren't taking those games anymore is all. They have a list posted on their monitors and those games are on it.

I was thinking about this today, as ive traded in quite a fe wmyself. It all depends on your location of course. The stores in this region of NE Ohio really don't care - I asked if there was ever an employee that actually works the gamerush desk and apparently there's never one at any of the stores here. I can't imagine regular BB employees giving a rats ass either. I did notice about 5 or 6 kuons at the stores that other CAGers in my area frequent, but I can spread my copies over the 3 gamerushes closest to me and 4 or 5 regular blockbusters so the damage is mitigated.

Nope, I checked the two Gamerush's nearby and neither had it. They further told me they didn't know if they would receive any at all... hopefully they are wrong. I also noticed they have yet to get in any DBZ: Budokai 3(GH), nor do they have any non-GH versions. It just blows me away that they aren't being re-stocked on anything.
 
omg, i have like 100 dollars in credit there and nothing to buy! I want to just buy something and sell it for the same amount I bought it for. The only thing I can think of like that is a 360, but I doubt they have any. Is there anything else worth selling off?

Suprised RE4 is getting $19 still, retail price was dropped to $19.99. Though, reading some of the above posts, Gamerush likes to charge above retail it seems.
 
Anyone in Saint Petersburg who wants Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance for Playstation 2, the GR on 34th Street South has one copy, it's $15.99 I believe.

I feel for you because a couple of my closest Blockbuster stopped taking Kuon because of the four copies I traded in. So, yes some of us have been having this problem. But, since I have like several others I frequent I just trade them in there.

It happened here but with Geist... namely because one guy blew it on us, I talked about it at the beginning of the thread.

No problem with Kuon though, yet, Berzerker took most of his to Land O Lakes and beyond so they haven't really shown up here en masse.

It just seems like people have stopped trading here altogether though... GR has dried up on used games, one store had so little games that it was one used game per space, instead of the usual 3 or 4.

This was the same genius store that thought it would be a good idea to put GBA, GBC, N64, Dreamcast, DS, and MEMORY CARDS and cram them all into the tiny GBA used section.

Another option for those of you looking for good used games - if you have one in your town Movie Trading Company is part of the Blockbuster chain and though they do not advertise it will honor the BB Value Cards.

I picked up Skies of Arcadia for the GC for $4.75 at one here the other day. Most of their prices are inline with BB/GR.

It is YMMV when it comes to your local BB because some of them won't take a trade without the original box art. But at GR they aren't required.
