Thanks... might pick it up, but I kind of want to save my credit to see if a deal is forthcoming, espically since the area is completely wiped out of any games that get a decent amount of credit.

Then there's the manager of my store, who said the preorder deal is NEVER coming back, no way, no how. But I really don't think he said that due to any sort of insider knowledge, just his own speculation. His reasoning for that was that customers like cheaper new games, and this is what GR was going to focus on - well, with the end of the $40 new game deal, where are the cheaper new games deals? I would lean towards the preorder deal coming back, personally, since they need some sort of trade-in deal (though they could make it apply to new games as well like 1 year ago!). We'll just have to wait and see. While the $30 is a nice deal, something like $10 off a preorder would be nice, since that would let me get DS goodness even cheaper :D.

It's not a game that would normally come out in the states. It's totally a japanese type game. Konami kinda reached with this title. It's an interesting title to say the least, worth a play but it's not anything spectacular.

It is, however, somewhat difficult to come by and it's a game somewhat unique in the US market. Thus making it valuable.
 
WooHoo...glad to see they are getting an OUTFIT faceplate. I wonder if they'll get the Full Auto one. I probably won't use it, but EBAY is always nice....or I can just "Collect 'Em All" ;)

They are getting the Full Auto one as well. There have been advertisements in the stores around here for it for close to two months now.

I live in Massillon, so I did a 50 mile search around my Gamerush to find a closer one to your location, but most are towards Cleveland. We have in Canton a place called The Exchange, which sells cheap games. It might be worth a trip when Game Rush has a deal.

I work at a GR and no promos for at least the next two weeks. I talked to my district leader and he said that they don't have any big promo planned. It might be up to the local district leaders to come up with their own promos and then approve it with the higher-ups. Odds are that whatever Gamestop has, GR is gonna have so look out soon in your local GR for a B2G1 free game promo
 
I remember a long long time ago, someone posted that Blockbuster was giving GR until March to pull a profit, or else they were going to shut down the whole operation... is this still true?

I can't imagine the place is doing better now then it was last year, espically with no new deals and the recent enormous trading of Kuon / Geist.
 
This is weird...I went to 2 GR's this morning and got quoted $4 each for Echo Night Beyond and Kuon at each GR. Then I went to a local Blockbuster and they gave me the full $24 for each. Maybe it's the GR's at my area only, but it seems they're wising up.

That happened a bit with Dead to Rights 2... trade ins started varying between BBs and GRs.

Ah shit... I hope its just your area, I finally tracked down a copy of Echo Night Beyond and was going to trade it in tommorrow (heavy rains stop me from doing it today). I was going to do that, Geist, and Kuon, my last copies of each, for a quick $72 in credit.

I will be really sad if GR finally caught on, but why Kuon / Echo Night Beyond, those aren't getting abused hardly as much as Geist.
 
I know its probably been suggested many times in the 9 threads, but when you're unable to physically get out and go there, a phone is a great invention.

It took a few tries, but I finally got hold of a GR... Echo Night Beyond only gets $4 now. I'm lucky that I'm still within the 7 day policy to return a used game to Gamestop, so I can at least get rid of that Kuon I just bought.

Sucks that I waited so damn long to trade them both. I don't even think that Blockbusters do trades here, only GR's.

EDIT: Lady on the phone told me Geist wasn't even in the system, and Kuon is $4 now too.
 
Guess I was lucky Blockbuster gave me $24. I had completely forgotten about Dead to Rights 2 getting different trade-in values a while back. I never found a Geist at TRU, but if they know about ENB and KUON it wouldn't surprise me if they knocked that one out too.

I'm thinking $1.50. I'm pretty sure I tried to bring one of those in for the preorder deal a few months back and it didn't qualify (sold for less then $7.99 or whatever it was). But you might want to pick one up and frame it as a monument to previous trade-in goodness. That's probably what I'll do with mine :D, even though I never was able to trade in a Drake.

I have one more Geist to trade, but have had neither the time nor the will to bother. With so little to use my credit on, what's the point? Still, though, I would have tried getting rid of it this weekend, but now, apparently, that's in doubt. Guess I'll give a regular BB a call the day I finally decide to do it.

Unfortunately, for me, no Blockbuster here accepts trade-in's... I'm not sure if its just the county I live in, or if its all of Florida.

I think we have another BB lurker here like before... hasn't Kuon been $24 for almost a year now?

If they ask, just tell them you changed your mind or something like that... they really can't refuse you as long as you're in the seven days.

Hell, I'm going to tell them the truth, that it stopped getting $24 at Gamerush so I have no use for it. I might actually keep it... supposed to be a decent game. I probably won't though, since a new GS is holding a copy of Fatal Frame 2 for me, so I'll return Kuon and put that $10 towards FF 2.

Now if the rain would ever let up...
 
Anyone try to buy systems with their credit. I just bought (finally) a mariokart DS bundle. The manager only let me because of my trade history there, but mentioned that they were not supposed to allow buying hardware using credit. To this, I replied, whats the point of trading in games if I cant use the credit on what I want. Seems like one way to deter racking up copious amounts or credit, since you cant buy the most expensive items in the store with it.

Does anyone think the Kuon / Echo Night Beyond drop is temporary or could be a glitch, and the price will shoot back up?

Aren't you still able to convert credit into gift cards? I doubt they can restrict what gift cards can buy...

Wow, it's interesting how he can come up with these new policies... Heck, I've used my credit to buy a DS and a 360 with no problems.

The $4 sounds like a glitch. Didn't Geist get $4 before they fixed it? Almost like they just dropped the first digit. If it was an intentional drop you would think they would drop those games a little less severely much like they did with KOF:MI during the CC sale this summer - say to $14 or so. Or if they thought it was now a $20 game they would make the trade-in value $7. $4 seems strange. I wouldn't be surprised to see it go back up again soon.

And nakanenui, I think we've heard this before from someone else. I think it is a YMMV thing with any particular location. I bought a Nintendogs DS bundle no problem. And when they offered me the Xbox360 Monday (which I passed on) they certainly had to know I would have paid with credit. Now if this becomes some sort of system-wide policy, that seriously sucks because I was hoping to get my PS3 and Revo from them!
 
That's just it..in 7 days - no questions asked. Just simply tell them you wish to return it, tell them you don't like it if you wish. I can't tell you how many times I've purchased a game then found a better example (maybe complete vs not complete, no scratches vs light scratches, etc.) at another store within the 7 days. I just keep the better one and return the other and put that money towards something else. Just did that today. I had upgraded my copy of Amplitude so had $14.99 on the old one that I returned and applied towards a new Phoenix Wright. Walked out paying $16 for it today. Not bad.

Don't tell them its defective though. The reason being they remove defective discs from inventory so if you were to return say a rare game that you have upgraded, that removes another copy of it from the channel that another cag or player could have gotten.

I reported a week ago that it was getting difficult to impossible to trade Kuon/ENB here in the DFW area. Just took a bit longer to catch up to the rest of you. I allready miss getting the credit for them :(

That's what I thought... I wonder what it sells for used, so we can compare? If they dropped the used price to $10 or $11, then maybe we have a convincing case.

It's just weird it happens to be ONLY these two games it seems... I only have a few days before GS won't take back Kuon anymore, so hopefully GR bumps the values back up soon.

geist only trades 4 around my area for 3 months now.. i dont know where and why ur blockbuster gives u 24...

by the way, i traded in 1 kuon in 1 blockbuster and now my account is on hold... when the account is on hold can i still pcik up my pre-order? or i have to talk to the store manager and get it fix? also if i dont trade or do anything for like half a year, does it go away? someone please help! i want my pre-order back!

Stupid question but where can I get Geist for cheap? My GR still trades it for $24 and ENB for $24 but don't know where I can get either of these games to make a profit. Please help!

Toys R Us for Geist and Gamestop has ENB for 10 bucks used.

$10 at TRU. But good luck finding a copy now. At my local TRU they had a table of about 15 Geists, I went back two days later to buy a few copies and all of them were gone :(

Well, it could be that a certian unnamed person traded in 9 at one location(who it was, shall remain a mystery ;-) ), maybe setting a flag off at the district, so they lowered the price? Dunno..

As for the price of geist, $7 here, not that they have any in stock... I keep meaning to stop by TRU, but i always put it off, hate driving that far down dale mabry.
