...so he just gave the guy $1.25...
So, he gave my friend the $1.50 back...
So in the end, I ended up pre-ordering Nintendogs, Buying Meteos, and got an Edge card with a whole $.01 on it.
And you even made 25 cents back on the cash swap - SWEET
.
I went in tonight to the same EB (Clackamas Town Center for you Portand CAG's) I got one at last night and was able to reserve a different version - now I have Dach. and Lab. They changed the DS demos from yesterday (which was Kirby) to Nintendogs - so you can actually try the game out. I wish the kids were with me tonight!
Anyway, I had a little more trouble than last time. Luckily I brought in the receipt from before and with that and some phone calls she was able to work it out. At first she tried to tell me it didn't work because Iridion 3D was POX. Then she tried to call the manager but couldn't reach him. She asked if I could come back tomorow when he was there but I live kind of far from there so I said I could do some more shopping and check back later (so she could call again). When I came back she said he told her to override each price and make them $10. She said the normal trade value of my 3 games combined would have been $2.25! Yikes.
Anyway, it all worked out so I'm set. Two other EB's around here have NO idea about the promo - they think maybe they'll hear about it this week. That seems kind of odd, but it doesn't matter now as I'm done. Later, I went into one of the other stores just to check it out (it is a brand new store just minutes from the Mall store) and the guy said the Nintendo rep was just in and she told him nothing about Nintendogs.
Oh - I asked about the freebies and they don't have them yet so she wrote on the slip that I didn't pick them up yet. I guess normally you have to get your preorder freebies right away? I've never preordered anywhere but Gamerush -they never seem to have any of the bonus items anyway. Has anyone else gotten the Nintendogs preorder items from EB?
OH - and NO mention of any coupon during my two deals or in the phone discussions between the EB clerks and their managers. This coupon thing is very mysterious indeed.
