Deal in title starts tomorrow. Not sure if it's all stores, but but the manager at the one by me said it should stack with edge- he also let me hold about a dozen dvds (ATHF box sets will be like $3 after all discounts) Happy Hunting-
Momouchi you found a pokemon yellow. Im hoping I can find one. Found a GS that has most of the titles that are on the website so I'm going to check it out tomorrow. A side note anyone know where I can get a GBC or GBA? $40 for a used GBA at GS is hardly a deal. Maybe I'll find a GBC for $2.50 tomorrow.
$40??? They're $25 for the old, regular GBA. GBA SP's are $50 I believe, but you should be able to find them dirt cheap on craigslist.

And if you can find them, the Gameboy Colors are $2.50.

I'm in search of a Final Fantasy Legend II myself. Anybody want to trade?

I Have:
Pokemon - Blue
Toki Tori
Cubix
Bionic Commando Elite Forces
Rayman

My bad lol. I meant GBA SP. I just want it for the GB/GBC games since i have DS Lite already and cant seem to find my old GBC. Im thinking $40 is too much for that purpose. Trying to save as much as I can since the heavyweight titles are bouts to drop.
When you visit a Gamestop that sells GBC games, remember to ask if they have any others in boxes or stored in the store somewhere. I went to one in Wilmington, Delaware that only had about 10 in a bin, but I decided to ask. The guy looked under the counter and pulled out a huge bag of GB/GBC games. I went through and picked out a ton of games I've been wanting to find. I couldn't believe these games had just been sitting under the counter for months.

Just to name a few:
Pokemon Yellow, Crystal, Blue, and Silver
Link's Awakening DX ad Oracle of Ages
Lufia
Megaman Xtreme, Xtreme 2, III, IV
Game and Watch Gallery 1, 2, 3 and Super Mario Land 1, 2, 3
When did you go to this store? I went about three weeks ago and asked but they said they had nothing. I think from now on I am only talking to store managers from now on. I have hit a few stores that have had over 1000 games and many more that said they had muchas but upon calling or either asking at the store they seem to not know anything. I talked to a woman today that said she had a ton in the back but would not sell them. Wow.............................
Ducktales for $2.99 isn't too bad, though I already have a couple of copies.
Shipping kills the deal for me. Even with CAG16 and Edge Card the total comes out to over $5.00 after they add shipping.

I went to buy the Harvest Moon game I had seen on my past trips. The website showed the version in stock at this GS store was Harvest Moon GBC only $5.99 website price on the game label I saw the same thing but when I returned home I noticed a 3 next to the Harvest Moon title and sure enough it says Harvest Moon 3 on the title screen. I got Harvest Moon 3 for $0.90 plus tax. This GS store made a mistake and marked Harvest Moon 3 as Harvest Moon GBC.:)

To your benefit I assume? Is Harvest Moon 3 a rarer find?
To your benefit I assume? Is Harvest Moon 3 a rarer find?
Yes, and also more expensive. Although with the clearance + edge it still would've only been $2.70. :)

Found quite a few games recently, but still having a hard time finding certain games.

I'm looking for Metal Gear Solid, Duck Tales, Castlevania Adventure, Castlevania II, Castlevania Legends,
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Bubble Bobble, the original Tetris, or any of the Contra games.

Have to trade:

R-Type DX
Legend of Zelda DX
Bomberman Max Blue Campion
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Perfect Dark
Power Quest
Megaman Xtreme 2
Mario Tennis
Legend of the River King 2

Thanks!

I ran by two Gamestops today. The first said that they didn't have any, even though the website said they did. However, the second place had Dragon Warrior 3 for GBC for $4.99.

I ended up getting it for $0.75 after discount and Edge card. I also picked up a backlit SP while I was there.

I love you guys.

I went back to gamestop and picked up a few more games. Among them a Japanese version of super mario land! I was pretty surprised/excited to get it :)

Update, I'm still looking for a few games. Metal Gear Solid, Duck Tales, Castlevania Adventure, Castlevania II, Castlevania Legends, Tetris, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or any of the Contra games.

I have Survival Kids to trade!

Thanks!

I know the gamestop by me has a crap load of games. If you want I can look for some for you guys if you need it. Just send me a pm with a list of what gb gbc games you are looking for and ill see ie they have them. going back tomorrow to pick up more game guides at the sexy price of .01. Also my local GS has a B1G2 free on all blueray/dvd/hddvds. Seen a small little sign

edit: I already have a few people who contacted me with pritty wide lists so if i see games it will go to them first.

I'm finding that many stores don't keep them on shelves but in the back like mentioned above. Employees have the ability to print out a list of their current inventory from the store computers. I've been doing this with stores with bigger inventories and then marking whatever I want on the list so they can go find them. They won't let me take the list out of the store though. If you know of stores with large used game inventories and they did have a few GB/GBC games, make sure to check back. I did this and on 2 occasions the stores received more games from corporate. It seems to be random, but stores that sell out of some titles (especially Pokemon's) are getting them refilled if available.

I went on Martin Luther King Day. The guy was really nice and helpful, he didn't even get mad when the computer froze while ringing up the 59 games. I just asked him, I don't think he was a store manager. Maybe it is because I'm a girl.
Will a GS thats farther away ship games to a location closer to you?
It doesn't hurt to ask. Either call that store directly (make sure you have your local store # ready), or if you have a friendly local store, have them call for you.

BTW I am also still looking for Metal Gear Solid (like just about everyone else) and Resident Evil Gaiden. I have tons of games from this sale to trade; check my list please. Those two games take priority over everything else, in fact I would trade multiples of a reasonable similar value from my loot below for either of those 2 games...

EDIT: Here is what I currently have available for trade only (not interested in money)...

Megaman Xtreme (note, I think this may be a bootleg, because while the sticker looks real, it is a different picture from another copy I have. Also, the top front of the cart says "GAME" instead of "Nintendo GAMEBOY", and there is a regular philips screw in the back of the cart instead of the Nintendo locking bolt)
Confirmed bootleg; I got a copy of Harvest Moon 3 that is the same way. One way to figure out if the game is bootlegged is to open up the game and take a look at the chip set. If it is indeed bootlegged the chip set will look almost homemade. I ended up giving the copy of Harvest Moon 3 away when someone bought a copy of Harvest Moon GBC on eBay.

I don't know, if it was me, I would've probably destroyed it.

My haul today was insane. Picked up 14 gameboy color systems, and a bunch of games.

Going out more later to some other stores.

Just wondering but what would be the point to buy 14 game boy colors. what r u going to do with them
I think the real question is "what can't you do with 14 game boy colors."
exactly!

Well, I'm in some dire need of stuff to flip, so I figured that I could resell them. The guy even told me that no one in the area cares for them or the games at that, so I figured for $2.50 each, why not?

So i'll either resell them or keep them (1 of each color). We'll see what happens.

I picked up:
Links Awakening DX
Paperboy
Donkey Kong Land 2
Shadowgate Classic
Tiger and Pooh (For my Dauhgter)

What are some other games to look for that I would have missed. I tried looking through some of the other posts for ideas. I am not looking for Pokemon and will pick up any Mario games I see. I have a store near me with boxes they said I can look through

Dude, pick up the Pokemon games. They are worth it, even if just to resell. A LOT of people are interested in those older Pokemon games. If you want a list of what is worth something, go to:

http://www.videogamepricecharts.com/console/gameboy-color

That list also includes original Gameboy games.

I've also taken the Megaman bootleg off my tradelist.

That's awesome and hilarious. Do you have an updated list?

yea I will *hopefully* tonight. My midterm grades are suffering as we speak!!

anyways, some pics from today's haul

(I hit up some stores that were about 30-45 min away from me)

Game Boy Color Haul for Today:

I also got the following:

Pokemon Crystal (DOESNT SAVE DAMNIT)
Mega Man IV (Found this in a limited pile of about 5 games at 1 store!)

and a bunch of other games.

My New Trade List is as follows:

Wave Race
Kirby's Dream Land
Rayman 2 (x2)
DuckTales
Metal Walker
Bionic Commando: Elite Forces
Ren & Stimpy Space Cadets
Legend of the River King 2
OddWorld Adventures
and Quite a Few Pokemon Pinballs...

Also, at one store I found a black-cart copy of pokemon crystal. The label looks to be printed out and the game is the original pokemon crystal game. I suppose bootleg? I did get it at $.45 due to mismark too :)

EDIT:

I also got the Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia guide for a penny :D

LOOOL

Awesome, old video game hardware is always great, no matter how much of the same you have :D

edit: There's a place by me that sells replacement screens for GBC and also for GBA (non-sp). Let me know if anyone wants to trade for 1.

LOL since you posted some pics, here's some pics of mine. I have the games that I'm keeping for my personal collection in the ziploc bags (1 for Gameboy, probably a hundred or so games, and 1 for Gameboy Color, another 50 or so games). Note that before this clearance, I only had 2 Gameboy/Gameboy Color games - Zelda OOA and Zelda OOS, as I had totally bypassed the systems until the GBA came out. So pretty much everything there is from this clearance.

The other games are the ones that I'm trading/selling. Man I wish I had 14 GBC's, that would be awesome. All I have are a couple of Teal ones and one nice translucent purplish/clear one.

wow! I have the games that I'm selling in a box next to me. At that start I had about:

30 Pokemon Red
10 Pokemon Gold
1 Silver
5 Blue
10 Super Mario Land
8 or So Super Mario Land 2
about 4 or 5 of each Game and Watch Gallery
6 Dr. Marios
about 10 Donkey Kongs (original)

and some more. + my games that I kept.

also dcgm, I just found a set of 4 screens for $10, free shipping on ebay.

Plan on keeping one of each color GBC and replacing the screens on them.

Selling the others.

Pokemon Crystal (DOESNT SAVE DAMNIT)

Yeah Penguin, mine has the same problem. Luckily, I have a Silver copy so I can still play a similar game. After looking at the prices of some games, I could make a lot of money off only two Megaman games.

yea. Mega Man IV sells $35 easily.

I know that much.

Ive been picking up alot GB/GBC Games , Have my original GB , GBC and adapters was curious are the Used GBC's 75 % off as well ? would pick up another GBC if they are .

I am looking for Deja Vu which doesn't even show up on the Gamestop Website. I have Links Awakening DX to trade for it.

I have a store near me with a few untouched boxes in the back. I went on Saturday and the guy would have let me look through them but I was in a rush. On Sunday when I got to go back there was a different guy and said they didn't have any more. I didn't push it as I knew he was the store manager and was being lazy. I will try another time.

Yes. They're $2.50 if you can find 'em.

Just wanted to repeat what a manager told me that the next step in this deal will be for all GS stores to send their remaining games off to dumpville. He said that would be sometime in February. Now, this is just one manager so don't take it as gospel, but he is an "old-timer" who generally knows his stuff. I haven't been able to confirm this with other stores, most are already out of games or are shocked they still have some. So just a word of warning, get 'em while you can before they end up in the Great Trash Heap (or wherever misfit games get sent when GS doesn't want them).

Pretty much all that's left around me are Mary Kate and Ashley games. Watch those be the ones worth money 30 years from now.

I made one last run to grab the only Metal Gear within 100 miles of me. (Used $8 in gas to pay 0.75 for the game, though I did find other games to make it more worthwhile). And I discovered my oddest game, by far, a bootleg Japanese copy of Thunderbirds. The fact that someone took the time to rip-off such a terrible game makes good pirates cry.

Metal Gear was the toughest game to find during this deal. After finally getting that, the only game I couldn't get that I would've wanted was Harvest Moon 3. No store within 100 miles has it, according to gamestop.com

I would guess about $300 in store credit, figuring an average of $1 for each game. Not exactly sure when I'll get the time to play even the ones I'm interested in, let alone the games I got simply because they were 45 cents.

I am still trying to find Deja Vu 1/2. I am willing to trade Link's Awakening DX for it. I really need to find a day were they local gamestop will let me look through the boxes in the back. They are holding out on me. I think I will try again this weekend.

Me too every time i go to my gamestop they have a long line because the ass manager is so slow and when i ask to see the games he says they dont have any in an annoyed. my friend used to work there and he says they do

Those of you not primarily interested in profiteering should consider the new CAG trading system to part out your spares. Is it up and running yet?

If I see interest in trading in this thread, I'll enter my spares (from this sale and before) and would love to work out some trades. I collect (that is almost a dirty word around here) and I'd love to trade off my spares. Likewise my original Xbox spares.

Are the original XBox games being clearanced out yet? One manager this past weekend told me they have no plans yet to clearance/discount them, I just laughed and said "oh okay". But here they are, with a trade in deadline looming on XBox games.

As far as trading, many of us have been using the CAG trading system already for swapping on this clearance, I even started a topic specifically for this in the Trading forum. And what do you mean "new" trading system?

CLick on the used games tab on the left of the page. Then when it brings the games up click on the platform tab at the top and select gameboy.
