Deal in title starts tomorrow. Not sure if it's all stores, but but the manager at the one by me said it should stack with edge- he also let me hold about a dozen dvds (ATHF box sets will be like $3 after all discounts) Happy Hunting-

Ah, I thought you had already been by! Game-wise I didn't get much, and nothing too exciting - picked up some Mortal Kombats and stuff.

I bought 5 systems, though once I got home and checked them out, 3 of them aren't working. There are plenty left of each color, except for the Tommy Hilfiger one that I bought, but the sound is messed up on that one. Also, nobody mentioned anything about not being allowed to sell more than 1 to a customer. In fact, the one guy (manager maybe?) was talking about how he didn't know how he was going to get rid of them all. He also mentioned that a "private buyer" had asked for all of his GB/GBC games to be shipped to another store, so a headsup about that if you were looking for games.

edit: I also stopped by the Gamestops at the Rockaway mall, they said a lady came by and bought out their entire GB/GBC inventory.

We went today, and you missed the games they had in the back... Since I have those awesome hook-ups with the DM, they pulled their games out of the back. I'll post the haul later. Also, we bought a bunch of systems and a bunch of them don't even work! Like 15 or so.

Also, they had a crapload of penny guides today and refused to sell them to me :(

I was thinking about heading back there later this week to try to swap my non-working systems for working ones of the same color. I'm about 30 miles east of Succasunna, so if there are none left it saves me a decent sized trip. :p

I'm in somerville, which is about 20-25 miles away from succasunna.

Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but I hope at least one of you guys got extra copies of Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil Gaiden to sell/trade to me!!!

Ah, sucks there were so many non-working ones... guess that is to be expected though. :\ Guess I will just take mine back to a closer GS, unless I can get them working myself somehow.

And sorry karkyco, No Metal Gear Solid or Resident Evil Gaiden here... maybe Penguin got some from the boxes in the back. :p

yea right!

I've been to about 10 FULL stores now and I found ONE metal gear which is in my collection. And I didn't see a single resident evil, ever.

Also, karkyco, I swear, this is all your fault. My room has SO MANY FREAKING GAMEBOY GAMES IN IT. I remember seeing some pics that you posted with so many games and I was like wow.. I want that many games too! ....and if only you could see it now.

I'll be posting pics of today's haul in a bit, and maybe some pictures of all the games around my room later tonight or maybe a snow day tomorrow!

LOL, that's awesome. And that one pic that was posted, holy crap. Dude's entire floor is just one giant pile, LOL. That's too much for me though. I left enough of the stuff that I had extras of in most cases, basically cherry picking the best copies of the best games and leaving tons of the rest. But damn it, no Resident Evils and no Metal Gears. What a load of nonsense.

yea. It's so funny. I'm sitting here doing french, I look up at my 360/wii games, and there are gb/gbc carts in front of them. I turn around, theres a box behind me with them. I turn to the left, theres another box with them!

I'll probably take/upload all the pics tomorrow, too much homework to do tonight.

But I also cased some of my gb games by means of thecoverproject.net. And I have about 40 more ds cases for my new games.

For the Central Jersey CAGers the Manalapan store has a few Link DX copies there as well as one of the better GB/GBC stashes left. I found the Kirby games there yesterday.
 
Wow, this almost makes me wish I lived in Jersey. Almost. I wonder why there's so many dump stores there, but none in NYC (that I've found anyway, but I only checked Manhattan and Brooklyn). Maybe all ours get sent out to Jersey since those stores have more space. Congrats on all those finds Penguin!

I am offsite for work today so I will check out a different gamestop. I'll let you guys know if I find anything. Doubtful though, seems if northern Virginia has been picked clean.
 
Damn it Penguin and the other guy who posted the Nintendo shop site...I just spent $50 on manuals for NES, SNES, Gamecube, and Gameboy/GBC games that I'm missing (along with 30 DS cases to start on my GB/GBC case project). Hopefully the manuals won't all be reproductions/copies, but I only ordered 1 of each so if that's the case I can make my own reprints as well.

I also ordered some DS cases, though how did you make the GB/GBC games fit? I'm guessing it's going to involve some cutting with an exacto knife of the GBA game slot in the case, so the larger GB/GBC carts can fit?

It's good to know I can get a bunch of these manuals, though. I'm tempted to transfer all of my GBA games (probably a hundred, at least) into DS cases as well, since I have them all in a big ziploc bag and the boxes/manuals/inserts for them in storage. It would be awesome to display them along with the GB/GBC games from this sale in DS cases with DS games.

Man Penguin, you've returned the favor, let me tell you. Hell I'd even do this for the extra copies I bought, if it was worth the effort. But I don't think it is. Cleaning those carts is more than enough.

yes, but, you can just sit them on top.

I did that because rather than destroying the case, you can just sit them on top and it has a slight bulge but it's not all that bad

and Karkyco, glad that I was so inspirational for ya! I cased all my GBA games already and they look great.

As for the manuals, all the old ones that you just bought will (90% chance) be photocopies. I wanted to order one for clubhouse games (when it was out of print) and I got a regular manual, but I also wanted Kirby Canvas Curse, and the guy on the phone let me know that it was a photocopy and wouldn't be an actual manual, more like a photocopy.

Also, I'm a handheld nut. Maybe later, I'll take some pics of my cased GBA games and my 80 some DS games.

Time to go do a few things though. Enjoy casing your games guys!

yea, I've had money in paypal for a while, so I transferred it over to my bank account and plan on doing that as well.

I even printed my n64 game covers a while ago thinking that I would buy the cases about 6 months ago... and then they were sold out for a while >.
 
On the universal game cases, you will need to modify the cases for NES games. All other carts fit standard. I'll post a picture of my cases later

Sorry I was unclear. I haven't actually modified a UGC for NES games. I just know it can be done, and out of the box you can't stick a NES game inside.

Here is a picture of my N64 Games that I put in UGCs with covers printed off of the cover project



Anyway that Gamestop I checked out after work was also completely cleared out. From GS.com its seems that Maryland stores got all the Gameboy and Color games, there is like nothing in Northern Virginia.

Wow. Those cases look great! I just ordered a quote from mediashelving for 100 cases. That should be enough to case my genesis and N64 games and maybe start the NES games..

I just want to get my hands on a set of 100 so I can see how much work it takes to get an nes cart to fit in it.
 
Videoshopper is the same price as mediashelving. I bought mine from video shopper as I was able to get discounted shipping as the business I was working for at the time was a customer. I've never dealt with Mediashelving, but I have never had any problems with Videoshopper even if they are a little high on shipping.

Hey everyone. I just purchased Warioland for the GB for a mere $0.75. However, when I booted the game up all of the three save datas are at 0%. This is odd as used carts usually have a save on them, could this be a sign that the save battery inside is dead? I don't want to trade it to someone on here and then have them get angry if the save is broken. Thanks.
 
Man it never occurred to me to ask my gamestop if they had any gameboy color systems in the back. I though they would be with the psps and DS in the display case......but why would they waste that space. Giving the location of my gamestop they should have a crap load of them in the back. I might ask them tomorrow if the Manager that I hate isn't there.

As for Atlus, hell yeah. Ogre Battle 64 is the only Ogre game I'm missing, the rest I have complete and minty copies of...so I'm very bitter about seeing that beauty in the nice new packaging.

I think I'm going to order a hundred UGCs too, just to start the NES games. Got at least a hundred cart only or cart + instructions games there, plus another 25 or so Genesis, plus another 25 or so Super Nintendo.

Hmmm, I wonder if I should convert my Wii Sports from the stupid paper sleeve to a white DVD case? Got a bunch extras of those from the Baby Einstein videos we bought for the baby daughter.

Not really, other than eBay. You could try that new site chasethechuckwagon.com that's been pimped strongly around here lately, and to a far lesser extent, just be like a vulture and keep an eye on craigslist constantly.

It's true. It was pretty funny actually. I told the guy I wanted a game from the case. "Which one?", he asks. "Zelda", I say. So he says, "Ah, The Minish Cap is really good." When I tell him, "No the GBC one" he starts saying to the other employee, "What!? When did we get this!? Don't tell me ages ago! Seriously!? It's been in here this whole time!?"

Then after all that, the other employee asks him if they had "The Minish Cap" in the case, and he responds, "No, but I do!"
