WELCOME TO THE NEW GAMESTOP TRADE-IN THREAD.

The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

Went to do a web in store order for the Ike amiibo and found out they won't do free shipping for a web in store anymore. The web store is just getting worse by the second these days.
 
When trying to get on the GS website I keep getting a white page that reads "Access Denied: You don't have permission to access "http://www.gamestop.com/" on this server. Reference #18.d43c4317.1461542430.1000684b"

It only happens on my laptop and happens on any wifi network I try. But it doesn't happen on my phone or on my home desktop. Any ideas on why it's doing this?

So can I sell a Gift Card that has a remaining balance of $1 and change for the $5 bonus?

 
Do smaller stores not have to accept interactive figures as trade-ins? I tried trading two Disney Infinity figures to a Gamestop that used to accept them and apparently they don't anymore. The guy just told me they would have to send them to the warehouse to be destroyed. Both of the figures had a $6.60 value.

Smells like BS to me.

 
I did do a trade there with him while there. I still have the figures. His suggestion was to go across the street to the other Gamestop, but it was already closing time so it was a useless suggestion. This same guy also gives me so many other problems. A year ago I tried trading in the PS4 mic and he told me he wouldn't accept it because it wouldn't sell at the store.

At this point I think he doesnt accept certain trades for some reason. Laziness?
 
Crap I should probably look at my personal gaming library for the $10 extra coupon on ps4/xb1 games

I traded in a bunch yesterday to a store that doesn't sell used ones. He applied a refurb "fee" ($0) and mentioned he had to send them off to different stores since his store doesn't sell them. Sounds like they just didn't want to put in the work dealing with those.

 
I went to give an employee my phone number because I had an item shipped to my store from a nearby store, and they said they'd call me when it came in. But the employee said they already had my number memorized since I'm always there. Man, that's just weird :/

 
Update on the Gamestop review I submitted. District manager called and told me that they should have accepted them. He said that they would have to inform everyone to accept the figures regardless becuase they could be shipped to other stores.
 
So I haven't really been paying attention to the Gamestop thread but for the trade 2 XB1/PS4 and gets an extra $10 trade-in doesn't stack with the bonus 20% trade-in towards Dark Souls 3/Battleborn/Doom right? I'm assuming you folks would post more about it if it did. So if I wanted to trade for both promotions should I split up the transaction or will the 20% override the coupon? Trying to trade in some low valued PS4/XB1 games I don't need anymore and to ditch the Disney Infinity collection (I no longer have my niece and nephew around to justify collecting/keeping them). 

 
I think one of my stores are blocking the sale of the $15-$500 Amazon kindle cards. Not the $25 or $50 one, those are fine. I traded in some stuff towards my Star Fox preorder that I was picking up for 20% bonus. The cards weren't working, she tried it like a million times and then went and got some more off the rack to try and it was a no go. She went and got a $50 and it worked, I was trying to put $86 on a card but went ahead and bought 2 $50 cards instead.

She was doing it right for anybody thinking maybe she was doing something wrong. I bought those from her at that store before. As long as the $25 or $50 work then it's all good although I like buying the exact amount I want.

She's really nice too. I made sure to give her a 100% survey, no forgetting this time.

Those cards should have been pulled, the system doesn't recognize those codes at all.

 
For the "Guaranteed $30 on Select Games", do you still get a Pro 10% bonus on top of that?  If so, is it based on the original TIV, or would it be $3 (10% of $30)?

I believe when they ran this type of promo in the past you get the 10% on the base value, not the $30.

Nice find Darby, I didn't know there was a SE of DMC4.

Can we use trade-in credit on Kindle cards? Was it only GS giftcards that won't allow that?

Yea you can use trade credit on kindle cards but it's up the store since some stores won't let you even though the pos does. I was just saying that kindle card wasn't working but it was because it got removed from the system.

Same exact thing happened to me. Had to get 5 $50 kindle cards.

Ah, ok, good to know. I remember last year they stopped allowing giftcards to buy other giftcards, and I thought someone said trade-in credit wouldn't work either. Thanks.

 
Can't wait til E3 and the neo gets priced so I can stalk this thread for a ps4 trade up type of deal. If it does drop then it's going to be an expensive October w/ neo and psvr...

I walked in to a store I don't normally frequent with redbox games in their cases and wanted to do a trade in. The associate saw the games I brought in, didn't say anything or make eye contact and walked away to the back. He returned with the manager who looked at it and said, are those rentals? I said no and I bought it and have a receipt to prove it. He looked at the associate and said to go ahead and do it. I gave the associate a very hard time during the trade asking him if he was scared of me and why he didn't want to make eye contact. He nervously laughed and I just stared at him. He apologized. I think he quit or went into withdrawal after I left.
