WELCOME TO THE NEW GAMESTOP TRADE-IN THREAD.

The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

The associate saw the games I brought in, didn't say anything or make eye contact and walked away to the back. He returned with the manager who looked at it and said, are those rentals? I said no and I bought it and have a receipt to prove it. He looked at the associate and said to go ahead and do it. I gave the associate a very hard time during the trade asking him if he was scared of me and why he didn't want to make eye contact. He nervously laughed and I just stared at him. He apologized. I think he quit or went into withdrawal after I left.

you really think it will be out in october? i guess since im getting VR ill need to get the new ps4 as well, but im keeping my vader ps4 too, so probably dropping close to a grand...

I'm hoping.From what I've read,Sony wants neo compatible games by October. This would be nice,that way I wouldn't be playing ps r thinking the whole time the experience would be better on neo.Exciting times regardless!

I'm assuming you folks would post more about it if it did. So if I wanted to trade for both promotions should I split up the transaction or will the 20% override the coupon? Trying to trade in some low valued PS4/XB1 games I don't need anymore and to ditch the Disney Infinity collection (I no longer have my niece and nephew around to justify collecting/keeping them).

Didn't think it would. Do we know if you can trade in 4 games to get an extra $20? I saw one user posted a week or so ago saying it did for him, but GS changes the rules of their promo mid-promotion all the time. I'll be trying later this week regardless, hopefully they haven't nerfed it yet!

Anybody try stacking the "Guaranteed $30 Trade Credit" with the "Get 20% Bonus Credit Towards [games]"?  I'm planning to try that but won't be able to until the end of the week.

 
Would be great if that extended to accessories too but alas I doubt it :( Should I hold out on trading in Disney Infinity figures until a better promotion then 20% pops up?

 
Well, it's a good thing I didn't feel like stopping at GS earlier.  I was doing to trade in some stuff for the 20% boost, but I'll hold off until tomorrow!

How much did you trade in to get banned? I did a fair share of trading from redbox too and was gonna try to do a few more trades with this promo, but not looking to get banned!

Really? Did you trade over the limit for the same copy? I traded in about $400 worth of games but made sure to do 3 copies of the same game for them.

 
About 10 games worth ~$100 worth of store credit. Manager said it was suspicious bc it was redbox. I even showed him the receipts that I purchased the games. He said they had a previous bad experience with redbox games. They also said I had too many pro points, about 150,000. I guess they figured I was a dealer.

Nope at most I traded in 2 copies of a single game. But that was in a separate transaction. I was careful of the trade limit.

Sounds like the employee flagged your account. If you have more than one local store its best to try and trade in a few different stores unless you have some really cool employees. Also if you traded in in two of the same game (unless they were two different platforms) at one store in two separate transactions i believe that also can flag your account. I might be wrong but i think someone mentioned that before.

How can that be considered too many points if there are items on the store worth more than that lol
