people return the box without controller ?
No they were like me and instantly threw the box away and now that they have issues, they need the box back to return them... I'm sure there's a better reason thou

So I bought the Elite Xbone controller bundle with the charging stand and went to a store last night to return the charger.  Both associates present opted to process it as a "no receipt" return.  Because it wasn't a high dollar amount ($40) and I didn't have time to waste, I just went along with it to get it processed as quickly as possible without requesting otherwise.  I heard the associates mentioning the "old way vs. the new way" for returns that made it seem complicated.

It seems like to me that they just wanted to save time and not enter my online order information but I don't want to have too many trades/returns/no receipt transactions on my PUR either.  Is it really that complicated to process an online return?  If not, what do I need to tell the GSA so as to educate them to not ding my PUR account with another "no receipt" return like last night?

It's actually a little complicated to do. The info you need isn't blantely spelled out in the online return form.

Technically, if you try to return an online order in-store you are supposed to return the entire order (but then I guess you can turn around and re-buy the controller). But that seems to be up to the whims of the person at the counter and possibly your relationship with them.

So I got mine yesterday the lunar white controller is there anything I should be looking for to see if I got a bad one
As mentioned look at and feel the controller first. The edges should line up and you shouldn't be able to feel an obvious difference where they meet. Both of my controllers have multiple scuffs to the plastic as well.

Then play with it fit a bit. Make sure the buttons don't stick, that the triggers depress and release evenly, and that the sticks are tight and don't drift. Of course anything else out of the ordinary as well but that covers everything I can recall people having issue with.

This sounds dirty.

So my ps4 works fine but the disk drive started making a crazy crunching sound when you insert a disk that sounds like Its scratching it but its not. I'm thinking of trading it in for $175 and getting a new one when they're cheap enough but was wondering what do they check when you trade one in, and will they still accept it if it makes the crazy sound?

Damn, I guess I'll just give the item to a friend then, thanks for the replies.
You can try returning it, then buy something right away. Kinda like an exchange.

I successfully did it about a month ago.
Returned a PS3 that I used a $50 cert on, and bought a PS4.

Cashier said he had to "wing it"
Hopefully you get a cool one.

Yeah, I was prepared to be denied but the GSA didn't blink when she processed the return. I know she looked at it carefully enough since she manually adjusted the price to the bundled $39.98 but I still would have rather had them process a normal online return.

@deader With their new POS, I would have figured they'd have made things easier than before. Before, they would just dust up a procedural guide and be able to type in the order # but I don't think it's good to just ring up a "no receipt" return when the newer system. Oh well, at least I rarely return anything to them.

If that's your idea of dirty, you don't want to see my porn collection...

They usually don't test drives. Honestly for all of mine they just boot in on and then it passes.

Thanks. The air in mine started getting super super hot really quickly so I took it apart to clean it and I guess I moved something wrong. What makes it worse is I learned hot air coming out is good, still dont think it should be that hot so fast though

I'll ship it submerged in water for you.

What acd said is half true. YMMV depending on who you get to test your system as they may or may not test the drive. If they do and catch it acting up then you are going to get hit with a refurb fee. Otherwise you may dodge the bullet.

I was in GS today and on the way out I spotted what looked to be a Fallout 4 lunchbox. I can't find it on the website and was just curious - does it come with something or is it just an empty...lunchbox?

I saw that lunchbox too not sure if it's the same one as the Fallout 3 CE one though.

Of course not...it's filled with Doritos and Mountain Dew...them game advisers gotta eat!

Did you miss the 50% bonus on the Sunday and Tuesday before Black Friday?
I got rid of all almost everything then lol
Oh I took advantage of that by trading in 2 non-audio jack XBone controllers and 2 older black PS4 controllers (cause I have a white PS4). Replaced them with 1 new XBone controller and 1 white PS4 controller.

Thanks for info on the lunchbox. What I really wish I had bought was one of the wired Xbox One controllers; of course now they are going for $150+ from 3rd party sellers...

i tried to cash in my powerup rewards points and it's telling me to verify myself and it'll send an email, the thing is... it's been a whole day and i STILL haven't gotten an email. I know the email works because they've sent me emails in the past whenever i bought something with my points.

What to do?

You can redeem your points via the app but that's given me problems in the past too.

i'm trying to get a PSN card to buy the FF7 port on PS4

of course the app doesn't sell PSN cards, and the certificates are only good for physical items

and I don't wanna get anyone banned for trading the certificate for a psn card

Can someone confirm if dollar-off preowned game coupons are taken off BEFORE the 10% PUR discount is applied?

For example, if you want to use a $25 coupon for a $40 game, the total would be $15 - 10% = $13.50?

Confirmed. Coupon first, then PUR.

Correct. Although 20% off birthday coupons may still come off before the $$ off.

At one point they restarted selling $3 PSN codes for about 4k points each. There's also the free $20 PSN card for about 22k or so points, unless that has changed recently.
