My GameStop had a sign in the front of the store that said something along the lines of "Sell us your PS4 / Xbox One for $200 cash or credit" it was an official sign, so it hopefully lasts more than just today :)
I just assume that GS will do their best to screw us until they don't.

This cash thing is honestly crazy, I can't think of a time that they've ever done this before, and some employees were complaining about it lol. It's a good way to get more customers in I guess cuz apparently people have just been unloading games all day

Oh yeah also does anyone know how much used ps4s are or what the best deal anywhere on one would be if I sell my messed up one to gamestop tomorrow?

They have never done this before. And according to the same manager, you get PUR points for doing surveys now which you DON'T. fuck THAT

Used are $329 at Gamestop and $349 new. If you can live without one for awhile I recommend a Uncharted 4 PS4 for April.

PS3/360 will exist until PS5/Xbox whatever comes out.
Yeah they're getting shrunk b/c they don't provide as much to the bottom line anymore as the games are almost all cheaper than what's in the new gen sections, even though numbers wise they're probably just below the new gen stuff in terms of just number of games sold. It's just the average PS360 used game brings in like $10-$20 while it's at least double that on new gen.

That and the X1/PS4 libraries are getting bigger as well as the amount of accessories they both have.

Gamestop in Nevada does not allow cash for trades, some legal thing in the state about pawn laws and stuff :(  Oh well, at least I get free drinks next to gamestop

That is weird since there's this huge show about people pawning stuff for cash.  Maybe they're afraid that nerds will lose all their money by pawning their games, getting free drinks, then wandering into a sports book and thinking they're betting on Quidditch?

Wish there were an MLB The Show console or bundle. I want to get a PS4, and that's the only thing I am interested in playing on the platform right now. My interest in Bloodborne died a while ago, and Uncharted just doesn't intrigue me. Too bad God of War wasn't a full series port/remaster, or I'd play that. Instead, it's just MLB and Horizon that Sony has to tempt me. $20 off for a used console isn't going to cut it, that's weak as heck. Aren't they $280 on BB Outlet?

Well it looks like the trade prices still held value.  Last of Us Remastered and Tony Hawk 5 are still showing 27.50 on the website.

Maybe they are holding values to help bring in more trades with the cash promo this week.

I didn't know anything about this... Fingers crossed those values stay till opening because I been waiting to get rid of bravely default and paper jam for a minute

yesterday i turned 54 credit into 110 cash by flipping the first 4 games on the spreadsheet 3 times. 3 hours and 6 gamestop but it was worth it.

I'm surprised pretty much everything held in value, I don't know what's going on but all I know is that we still need to take advantage to screw over GameStop #tradeinwithoutcases

Are you in the same county as Las Vegas? That could just be a county, not state rule. Similar in STL County 18 & ID is required for all trades, STL City requires fingerprints in addition, and Jefferson County is no fingerprints and ID only required for cash.

And all 3 of these distinct districts are within 30 minutes of each other.

I love buying a game at one GS and trading it down the street 5 minutes later and getting hit with a refurb fee. (Gamestop defense team incoming.)

Happened exactly to me. Told them to give it back. Ill exchange it sometime this week.

Its BS what it is.
Have a store near work that charges a refurb fee for any game without a case. When I called them on the fact that their "new" often looks the same as "pre-owned," they told me they do it because they don't have time to make cases for the games. Fine, whatever, that's their prerogative. Not sure if it dings them in any way, but I do all my returns at that store. The last time was a retro Amiibo 3-pack I bought at another store but decided against keeping. The employee did not seem pleased to have yet another clearance 3-pack to sell.

I would applaud them if they were actually trying to increase the quality of the games they offer, but this store just seems to be punishing customers arbitrarily. I do trade in the case and artwork when I have it.

I would report that store to corporate. That's actually in blatant contradiction to GS corporate policy.

you made 8 dollars more then me yesterday but I didn't have to leave the house to do it. Web ads > flipping

I had a store charge me a refurb fee for a game without a case, on the same transaction I bought a used game without a case (original Devil Survivor 2). I previously bought the game from them without the case.

I didn't notice til I left the store.

Traded in a bunch of games collecting dust for about $500 in cash

i only lost money on 2 of the 16 games I traded in. Gotta love it.

ill probably buy the games back when they drop in price but there was no point in keeping them since I wasn't planning on playing them anytime soon.  Some of the games have been sitting on my shelf untouched for a year and a half.

i have my casino money for tomorrow!!!

Tried using the ebay card that I got from GS to buy that TRU card from Paypal Digital Gifts and this popped up:

You are currently winning or have bought the maximum allowable amount of this seller's items in the last 10 days.
