The source? My Dad. LOL

EDIT: Just found out where he got the code from, it's from http://www.retailmenot.com/view/gameznflix.com

If you don't know, Gameznflix (http://www.gameznflix.com/default.aspx?kbid=1447) is a site like Netflix and Gamefly, just together. You can rent movies and games. The only thing is their selection is limited and they DON'T have any DS games.. GRRR!!

But, when you click on sign up, go to I HAVE A COUPON and type in emmys.

Now look at the prices!

1 Out at a Time / $6.75 each month
2 Out at a Time / $9.75 each month
3 Out at a Time / $12.75 each month

3 out a time for $12.75 a month?! Holla!

I may do two at a time.. I haven't signed up YET I'm just sharing this info for anything.

I don't know if it's going to be YOUR price..as in if you stay with this company for a year.. will it STILL be $12.75? (or whatever you choose)

And a personal question. I live at home. If my dad uses this for him/mom/brother..can I have my own account..? We have the same name too LOL (with the exception of Jr in it)

I don't post deals often, but I hope this is useful to at LEAST someone!

Enjoy!

EDITED to change link to CAG referral link.
I totally agree with you. In fact, I think we both agree on more than we realize.

I feel I was making reasonable points, and everything I've said so far stands.
Maybe so, but are you this bold? I like GameznFlix and I'm glad I was able to get such a great deal!

Haven't you guys figured out yet that GnF employees have invaded the forum to 'sell' their site?

Hey just out of curiousity, on your guys' return labels. What city do they ship to? Mine are always North Highloands, CA.

I don't work for GnF either...nor would I want to. My games ship back to FL, and I live in NC. So far, I've received one from MD and one from KY.
I haven't heard anyone trying to convince someone else not to take the service, however, so I assume you're talking about the bad experiences and negative comments that adorn this thread.

In that case what the fuck is wrong? Suddenly we can't voice our negative opinions on a forum? What if I had something positive to say about the service? I bet you'd welcome those comments.

You're basically telling people not to comment on the service, and seeing as this is a forum, and this is a thread on the service, it is perfectly reasonable to comment on it.

Obviously I will ignore your request, and I will continue to voice my opinions on this and other services, and I appreciate it when others are thoughtful enough to offer their opinions to me.
I'm all about the first amendment (I work at a newspaper) but I think every point in the discussion has been discussed at least five times during this thread. We get it - you're not happy with the service.

That's fine if you're not satisfied, but I'm just saying we're rehasing the same discussion over and over again.

Signed up the night of the 17th, checked during day to see that games were shipped the 18th, found games in mailbox on the 19th. Pretty good so far. I do leave close to one of their centers though.

There's nothing wrong with five people saying they don't like the site, or five people saying they didn't get games for weeks, or five people saying the queue system is messed up, or five people saying it's been worth it for them, or five people saying the shipping times were fantastic.

The more people that contribute their experiences to this thread, the better.

However, the more this thread is cluttered with discussions over whether or not people ought to post their experiences in it, the worse it gets.

So I will stop discussing this, and leave it at this:

I have been greatly aided by people posting their experiences and opinions on internet forums, and I like to post my own. I won't stop doing so just because I've annoyed some people who get all bent out shape when a service they subscribe to is criticized.

This second experience has been a lot better so far. Their website is still clunky and their selection is not on par with Netflix/GF. I got my games in 2/3 days. With GF sometimes it takes a week or more.
I might cancel Netflix. GF is still the way to go for "used" games.

Hmm might have to try this then... Gamefly has by far the worst shipping if your on the eastern side of the US. It took them over 2 weeks to get me a game and they lost severals games when I was with them. One of the game they lost turned up over 1 month later!

Ok, I officially hate you guys. I have 6 X360 games on my queue and they havent shipped a SINGLE ONE out yet. WTF, it's never been like this. Stop freakin renting all the good games.

They sent me the one game that had the longest wait (according to them) -- WTF

I'm strongly considering cancelling and going GameFly because of this

I just signed up a few days ago. If i cancel and resubscribe, will they prorate my one month fee, or will I basically lose 18 dollars to take advantage of this deal?

PyroGamer - See, this is the kind of worthless rant I'm talking about. Nowhere does he say how long he's been signed up for. This is the definition of impatient little bitch whining. This is my gripe. We live in a self-absorbed "fast food" society. God forbid other people rent the "good games". It's not like they're paying for the exact same service that you are...oh wait. If you seriously think Gamefly offers better service and is worth the extra price, by all means, switch to them. Nobody's stopping you.

Oh, just as something no one has really brought up, and this COULD just be wishful thinking, but I doubt it. By GnF offering a big discount like this, there's no way they didn't know they were going to get a TON of new subscribers. Therefore, I'm inclined to believe this whole thing is part of a push to expand the company. As many people have said, their selection is MUCH better than it was a couple years ago. Now of course with this influx of new members, there's going to be a bit of an adjustment and assessment period, but I honestly believe GnF will get stronger for it in a month or two. By making sure we get something at all, they're proving they have a desire to meet our needs, and are working hard to do the best they can. Just give em some time.

GameZnFlix is a good secondary service because they're so cheap (especially with this deal) but they are the worst out of the three major online renters. I signed up for all three over the holidays because there were so many games and since each service limited you to 2 games (3 for GnF) I couldn't get everything I wanted.

GamezNFlix takes forever to get new games, I actually started with GameFly because GnF didn't carry F.E.A.R. for 360 for whatever reason. It wasn't that it was OOS, they didn't even had it listed. When I e-mailed them about why they didn't carry it, they never responded. It wasn't until like a week ago that they started carrying it..

So even being on the East Coast I get games faster from GameFly because they actually ship the games on the ship date. I moved down to the 2 at a time plan from GamezNFlix because I couldn't find 3 things to rent.

Now Gamefly finally added 3 or 4 out at a time plans so having another service is less necessary. All Gamefly needs is an East Coast distribution center and they'll be perfect.

For $13 a month for 3 games, GameZnFlix is a good deal but only if you're generally interested in games that have been out for a month or two or more.

How can you tell where they ship from? The postage "stamp" thing on mine is always wron out so I can't tell where it ships from.

I think it took gamefly a month or two when they got 10,000s of new people when the mcdonald promo came back in nov 2004 and they were a better service back then. I say it will take this site at least 2 to 4 months before they get back to where they were before. Then again they might say

hell with this we will take this major profit winfall and keep the selection where it stands and never come back. i have heard and read way too many BBB complaints against this site to trust it with my CC info.

Best of luck to all that goes for it. I say if you want movies Good , if you want games enjoy the wait

demi owned lol

i just signed up a couple days ago and lost planet shipped to me in my first batch of games owned

Update for me: 17th they shipped my 2 games and 1 movie. Yesterday--the 19th--I got 1 game, 1 movie. Today I got the other game.

So far so good for me. We'll see how this all turns about ^_^

Hmm, this is very tempting....how is the selection for HD-DVD and Blu-Ray? I currently enjoy my Blockbuster online, since I get TWO free in-store coupons for games each month...but this is a nice little savings.

I thought the selection was ok, but the site interface needs some serious work. And of the 9 things I put in my queue, 6 were"on backorder." :whistle2:/
They didn't charge me taxes, but they might if you're in certain states.
maybe if you are in the same state as hq

The sticker on the DVD sleeve...down at the bottom. It gives the address of where it came from (I assume for inventory purposes).

cousin said she is going to attempt this monday so i might give here 6 bucks (half) and tell here put a game on it for me.

Im getting tired of gamefly i returned 2 games on tuesday and neither have been reported back yet. (5 days and still nothing)

Sucks no ds games.

can anyone tell me if there are any PSP games that you can grab now or is mostly all the newer stuff long wait

some people posted about broken discs coming in. What do you do if that happens? Do they charge you for the broken ones? Do you send it back and they send you the next game on your list?

I know some people are posting how quick stuff anf the qeue jumping so here's what happened so far....

3 items shipped yesterday. All 3 are 360 games that are older and I'm sure no one wanted. Not a big deal but they were randomly from my queu. I did want Lost Planet, which is why it was #1 but it didn't ship and to be honest it's new and I wasn't really expecting it to. . But I really couldn't care less about what order most of these items ship in as long as the shiping time is the same as last year when I was a member for a month. Figure I'll be gettign stuff in on Monday.

You send it back with a note that says it was broken.

Then you have to re-add the item to your queue if you still want it.

And how about you read the FAQ before posting these questions?

This services does not yet replace Blockbuster or Netflix for HD DVD or Blu-ray. Their selection is OK; however, it takes a long time for the HD DVDs to become available for rental after release. Most the HD DVD titles show up as "On Order" for at least a month or two prior to being available for rental. For example World Trade Center or any other HD DVD from last month is still not available for rental despite having been released. I have kept a Blockbuster account for HD DVD and I love the fact I get a monthly rental coupon that can be used for one free DVD or game rental. Despite not being able to get either Rainbow Six: Vegas or Lost Planet via GnF, I have been able to use my Blockbuster coupons to get both.

My only point in posting my experience is to warn fellow CAGers about signing up for the 6 out plan for $250. Esp. given the influx of new subs, I think I just threw $250 down the drain. I do however find it very interesting that n8rockerasu has such a strong opinion as to how great the service is given that he signed up earlier this week. If you can get the deal price, by all means go for it, the service is worth that, but at this point I would not recommend locking in for a year by signing up for the $250 plan.

People who have used this for a while now, do any titles ever move past the "on order" stage? Especially those for which release dates are well in the past-6-18 months ago?

hmm i signed up too, got the 3 at a time (shipped yesterday got it today), but for some reason. the psp game i wanted didint come yet, they all shipped at the same time.

does the psp game come in a small box or something? cuz its not as flat as a cd thats for sure. does it work differently?

You'll undoubtedly find out when it arrives, now won't you?

This time though I got two mint PS2 games and a 360 one in perfect condition .

Somebody needs a nappy wappy.....you're getting kind of grumpy there little boy.

prayformojo - I never said the service was fantastic...just worth the monthly fee. My point was that some people were being unrealistic with their expectations. As far as your $250, 6 out at a time deal, I can't tell you whether that was a waste of money or not. To me, 6 at a time is a lot to begin with (I did 2 at a time for $117 a year...big difference). But really, you need to think about it like this: If you rented 50 movies/games at $5 each, throughout the course of the year, you'd get your money's worth ($250 exactly). That breaks down to just over 4 movies/games per month. Considering that games cost more than $5 a rental pretty much everywhere, it makes it an even better deal. Again, whether it's worth it to you to double your price and have a Netflix/Gamefly tagteam, or be satisfied with Blockbuster's 2 in-store coupons a month for games is your decision. It's a total judgement call. To me, GameznFlix is the most efficient option. But that is my opinion. Take it for what it's worth.

Signed up, and was shocked that lost planet actually shipped a few hours after I did. I figured I'd have to wait a long time for that.

Anyone that has a current membership and tried cancelling it to take advantage of the coupon offer? What were the results? What really blows is if you are a current member it seems you can't get this discount, is that true?
The sticker on the DVD sleeve...down at the bottom. It gives the address of where it came from (I assume for inventory purposes).
I don't think that's it, Maybe it's thier corporate offices address?
All of my stickers have the PO box for North Highlands, CA (which is I think the Sacramento distribution center). But I live in Phoenix, AZ. The closest distribution center to Phoenix is Los Angeles, which is what, like 3-400 miles closer? You'd think i would get all my items to and from the L.A. dist center, but apparantly they ship from wherever - I remember a while back when I rented Viva Pinata it took six days for me to get it - I'm guessing it came from the east coast that time. So the 48 hour "policy" from their FAQ is worthless.

Question: When game is shipped about how long does it take to arrive?
If a game was shipped, how long should I wait to get a game?

Solution: We have worked very closely with the US Postal Service and are builing our distribution center network so that we can deliver titles to our customers in about 48 hours in the lower 48 states. By the end of 2006, we will have completed this project. Please refer to the FAQ about our distribution center locations for more details.

I am currently a member now but am going to cancel and resign up because of this deal and because of the fact that they give prefered treatment to new customers. If I sign up to the 3 game plan, if in about a month I wanted to switch to the 2 game plan, will i still get it for 9.99?

Oh, and Ive been a member for 8 months so if u have any questions at all, feel free to ask them. Overall, the site is great for about the first 4 or 5 months, but then its all S*** from there. They consider you a older member and kick you to the side for the newer members. I know from first hand experience because my friend recently signed up and he gets things that have been in my list for 3 weeks, the next day. Its a good site at first, but dont expect it for ever.
