Gears of War 3 - Release Date Sept. 20

ive beaten beast mode on slab and academy. Did academy by myself on casual. Ended up winning with 20 seconds left. LOL. Its not too hard but i know with more people it would be faster/easier.
 
I don't even want to look at the ribbons that I need. last I checked it was around 86% so out of all the ribbons which ones should I ask for help for first(the ones that you know you will not get without help/boost)?
 
Beast is like FF, with a decent group of 4 or cap it's 15 mins (or less) of hulk mash cog. it should never take longer than that unless you're boosting or doing it on the harder difficulties.

It was. I gave 5000+ each to Fire Dragon, Ryu, and you, as well as bought and upgraded the Silverback for 7th. You can only get it once per game, but I have several of those ribbons already.

I only have to upgrade the Silverback to Level 5, so I had a lot of money but no use for it. I wasted it on an Onyx Guard near the end, just so that we had one more gun (even if he can't Super Reload). I like that you can actually revive the Onyx Guard, too.

I still have to play Beast Mode on the new maps. If you need to as well we can easily get that for you. It's much harder on the higher waves that we we trying it on last night because the Heros get downed and need to be executed. If you try to do it on Wave 1 or 2 it's easier because Stranded die in one explosion. Just have 4 people play as Tickers and you be the Wretch, and you'll definitely get it.

Tight maps like Checkout or Gridlock work really well for it.

Also, if someone needs Pop Goes the Weasel, this is the same strategy you should use, but probably with 4 Wretches and 1 Ticker.
 
Can whoever maintains the gamertag on here add me? The Gears 3 DLC one.

Also, I'm up for playing this weekend and some tonight if you guys need a player. I'm open to about any game type.
 
If only Campaign/Arcade XP was doubled as well, it'd be a good opportunity to grind out
King of COG Onyx Medals
 
Horde Medals Needed: Gold/Onyx # of Waves, Onyx Point Man
Beast Medals Needed: Onyx # of Waves, Gold/Onyx Motivator, Gold/Onyx Dismantler, Gold/Onyx Investor, Gold/Onyx High Roller

Horde is the best way to level up since XP goes up every 10 waves. If you did all 50 waves, you'd earn about 90k in XP normally.

They really need to have a double/triple Progress weekend for Kills/Ribbons/Medals though. The grind is just really bad right now.

I should also find someone to boost Capture/Rescue Leader Medals with. Mainly since I don't have the Bronze Rescue Leader Medal yet.
 
Gonna be playing mucho Horde this weekend for the double XP. I checked out the re-up weapon skins on YouTube and the first one is the only decent one.
 
I'm down for Horde this weekend as well, beside the fellowship and xp bonus I need to work on my investments in turrets, silverback (+ rocket kills) and such.
 
I need about 150 rocket kills for the achievement, but dont actually have the rockets yet. About 60% to level 2. Horce medals i need to onyx are Horder, Architect, and big money. I need about 500 more waves for Horder, and 2.5 mil for big money.

I saw the gun skins and they were okay, i like the electric one. The 2nd is lame.

Man i really love Stay Frost, its so much fun. I mainly use the pistol in that mode, so much fun popin heads. Only thing i hate is it seems like on the new maps, enemy forces are called constantly. I was playing on the level under the water, and we got enemy forces behind us and i checked our map out and there was NO ONE even past the half way mark, not even one person near the half way line. Like the game just decides to screw a team over. Escalation is a map that has it constantly too. Sometimes i just hide up at the top to the left or right behind the planter, no one even notices you.

Im up to level 34 right now.

does the double xp event start at midnight? i'm not familiar with epic's server reset times.

haha yup im level 34 At least i think its green, people been saying my number is green, but im colorblind.

I also just backed up my save file since i got all my ribbons.
 
I'm a Green 27 right now.

ARGH, I only need 1 more Ribbon (Team Savior) and I'll have them all! I'm going for the Fenix Rising Beast Mode later tonight, so I might be able to pick it up there if they're nice. Once I do that, I'm going to go for strict Kantus play. All Kantus, all the time so I can get my Heal count up. Well, Armored Kantus too.

New Event Ribbon is called "#Winning" by the way.

I should also try and get the Ghosts of the Past achievement sometime...
 
If you need a player or 2 for insane horde I will help you out. I just need to grind out architect and big money for horde (need about 600k) and need about 300k to max out my silverback so I can buy the rockets for those that need that chievo. Edited to add I would do beast too. Need 1500 fortifications destroyed and ALOT of Kantus heals to finsih those Onyx. Also if anyone is good at level 2-6 ( I think that is the barge level) for force multiplier I would love to join that match. I can only 8x most of those runs.
 
ugh. I still have two chapters to do 4 player coop on and I stil can't get 4 people to stay to the end. Stupid ashes to ashes and act 6 ch: 3 or 4 -_-

EDIT: feel free to add me anybody that's still looking to get the campaign coop acheesements. I do not mind blazing through a few acts for you on casual with mutators to get some help. I have super reload, inf ammo, and instagib if needed :)

played for a bit last night. so much lag.

got hate mail PM accusing me of standbying (heard the guy bitching before he and his 2 friends quit). people are fucking idiots why do they think the other team is always an actual team?

got stuck with damn Mexican players. lag was very bad but apparently only a few Mexicans were NOT affected (going by score, all others were Mexican players according to profiles).

I finally hit 77. I saw a bunch of greens (when was the first day it was available?). I didn't really play at all Nov-Dec and did not boost achievements. I'd probably be a mid 30 green if so
 
Completed all Fenix Rising Maps in Beast Mode and got my final Ribbon! Got to Lv.28 and got a couple more Gold Medals, Investor and Healer.

Got my 26th onyx medal today for Cover. I also made it to level 42. Stay Frosty has really helped my headshots. On an average game i can get maybe 10+ kills a game. Most of them with a snub headshot. Im like 1500 headshots away from onyx thanks to this mode. Its also only 1 round, so its a pretty quick game.

I really dont get what players choice playlist is. I was playing it with a buddy and it kept putting us in KOTH matches. If i wanted to play all KOTH matches i would choose that.
 
Rustlung blows on Stay Frosty, as the Silverback is available, and is almost unstoppable. Have fun peeking your head out to throw a grenade at it.

I just wish Epic would actually play their game modes to see if they work before implementing them.

Haven't seen it on Quick TDM and/or Ranked. I have yet to try out 'Stay Frosty'

The Silverback has been available on Rustlung from day one I believe, and it works on any game mode...except maybe Horde.
 
Ive seen people get killed while in the silverback via hammerburst/snub in stay frosty. And its always been on game modes since day one, it just takes forever to become available.

I tried some horde today and from wave 1-10 i got only 8,000 xp in 20 minutes. That doesnt seem like much considering i get 4-6k in one match of stay frosty. Even more if we win or i keep playing without backing out. I guess it would be a lot more for the higher levels but there were only 3 of us and the two guys i was playing with sucked so i didnt want to continue.

I bought the thunderstorm and rainbow gun skins. Yeah i wasnt going to buy any skins but bing rewards pretty much paid for it. So it didnt cost me a dime. Only thing that sucks is you cant use gun skins in stay frosty. LOL
 
Im 4 horde challenges away from onyxing it a 2nd time. I would have already had it but some of my teammates didnt care to finish the challenges. One time we had 1 chainsaw/retro charge away and they finished the wave. Another time we were like 2 away for the same thing. Again 1 or 2 away from executing enemies, which can be done by chainsaw. So we got to level 40, all of us died and the host quit. The game kicked me back to the lobby and did not restart the match. :/ I really cant wait to get done with horde medals, i dont really have much fun playing this mode. I guess it would be more enjoyable if i had a few friends to play with, but with randoms its kind of boring.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm fully aware of the Silverback on that map (and I don't get why kills with it don't count towards the Heavy Weapons medal). What I was saying is that they shouldn't have a map in rotation like that that completely breaks a game setup. If they can remove Overpass from specific game types, they should do the same with that map in the Stay Frosty playlist.
 
Just finished 50 waves of horde with randoms, it was a good game. no one stealing the silverback, or pressing the command center they didnt buy. Everyone rushed to save anyone who was downed. But i still dont think the xp is worth the time. I didnt crunch any numbers but it seems like its faster to get xp in Stay Frosty. Well as long as you get enough kills each game. Im pretty good in Stay Frosty so i end up with a lot of xp each round.

Think i need to invest about 42,000 more cash into the silverback to get it to level 2. Then i can finish up my rockets achievement.

Ended today at level green 51.
 
cheers to team insane horde the other night making another run from 1-50 bearable and enjoyable. also props for letting me rack up 250 rocket kills before it broke. I'm 433/500 now.

Wish I could say the same. all weekend the randoms that I've teamed up with have been nothing but Snitchs! taking my SB and C.Center I ended up just unlocking all the posts so no one else could get one and destroy the SB asap and make sure no one buys it the next round then I leave

You'd probably be better off playing Local Horde with a second controller. Just have Player Two give you their cash after each Wave so you can save up to buy better things.

Some guy stole my Silverback but I had the actual laugh when I was able to kick him out of it immediately when I upgraded it.

I'm looking to play those Beast maps for the DLC if there are others like the poster above. It's best to do it now during the double XP. I haven't seen them show up in Public Horde yet, so it feels like you have to play them privately.

This best part about upgrading is that locks out anyone else for buying it when it is destroyed unless they have level 2 unlocked. Tired of randoms.
 
anyone know if there will be dlc that won't be free via the season pass? I don't have it and with all the shit I went through with Gears 2 I won't buy epic dlc unless it is a very good price. some of the dlc stuff seems to have been good from what I've been hearing.


also when does double xp end?

I wouldn't be surprised if they continue to release more character and weapon skins. As for map packs and campaign expansions, I can't see them releasing that kind of DLC without achievements and the game will already have 2000 points by the time the season pass content is over.
 
Raam's Shadow was way better than I expected it to be playing as Raam is fun and the boss battle to me was better than the one in Gears 2. I should have just got the season pass, but I didn't. I got Raam's Shadow from Gamestop when it was 9.99

I ended up getting the maps since I'm weak and that whole not being able to use the dedicated severs thing. I was going to get them eventually anyway,but when they was cheaper.

I enjoyed the double xp and got to rank 50. That's about as far as I want to go. I haven't been playing it as much as I should.

Now I want to replay the campaign.

well if i were you id probably just pass on the horde dlc, since the maps in that dlc are free. command center isnt really that great. But i do love using the big rig dizzy mp skin. lol.

I got the beast achievement tonight with ebbtide, we ran through all 5 maps. I only need to kill 100 more humans to get that onyx another time. Not really sure how many humans there are in 12 waves though. We did it in private and i was only pulling in 3-5k per 12 waves. So i dont think the xp was doubled, if it was then wow that is not much at all.

Im about 2000 xp away from level 56, started the day at 51. Not as high as i wished i had gone, lol.
