Gears of War - General Discussion 2 - Re-release 6/24 w/Maps and Extras (No PC Stuff)

I' don't want to read about all you people complaining about the price of the maps. I'd rather talk about how awesome they are going to be, I for one am hyped by how interactive the maps are going to be. The swamp level that is lighted by the generator seems nifty. Shoot out the generator and leave your opponent in the dark. Then the garden level that seems to have a room that can only be accessed by first cleansing the air or else I assume you take some kind of poison damage.

I can't wait, I'll be happily waking up Thursday morning and giving microsoft my $10. I'm not waiting 4 months for them to be free.

Depends, can you fill bullshit info into spots labelled name, email and phone number?

Gaming Lagoon is great for this and very easy, there are even easier and faster ways to complete offers on that site, I won't go into detail here since it probably annoys some.

These maps look very, very tempting to spend 800 pts on. I'll wait and see what other CAGers have to say about the maps. I'm a sucker for interactive environments in video games, I blew up every little poker chip and wine glass I could in RB6:Vegas.

All 4 are generally about the same size, which is good and bad as you said. I really enjoyed all 4 maps. And what I liked about them is that every map has the sniper boom shot and torque bow on them.

I'd have to say that gardens is my least favorite of the new ones, at least after my first play through. And it is hard to say the marsh isn't my favorite just because of the sheer awesomeness of it. But I really liked the design of subway and it is a lot faster paced than the other 3 maps seemed to be. Reminds me of a new and bigger gridlock.

Bullet Marsh and Subway are good the other two are sorta meh (i played them in execution if that changes anything). Still worth the $10 though. The water and wind effects are gorgeous!

Can anybody find games anymore? I only get like 1 or 2 games showing up now compared to the 8 or so before.

Hey guys I have a question, if I delete my gears save will it keep all of my kills and my achievements? I'm asking this becuase my copy of gears is fucked and it works fine with my hard drive off, and that's one of the suggested things to do ( delete save file ). I don't quite care about progress in storymode, i just want my kills and my achievements. Thanks.

Edit: It didn't work. I fucking quit.

Well, it actually only worked for around 20-30 minutes.

I still quit.
 
Well, i made things completely worse, becuase I'm an idiot. I BOILED my disc thinking it would working, now it's telling me that it's not even an xbox 360 game. Yeaaah...

At that point it didn't work w/ or w/o the harddrive, so i didn't care. I'm going to buy a new one and a memory unit just in case.
 
Ok, so i just found three cracks in the disc on the inner circle, and I don't excatly know how they got there. Hopefully that means that I don't have to reformat my HD and such. I don't want to buy a new game either. Maybe rent it and swap or buy and return? Yeah, i think i'm going to buy a new gears from a walmart and then return. They're usually pretty leniant.
 
I believe the warrenty for the 360 applies to Microsoft-published games. My friend called in because his GOW cd was scratched too and they sent a box for him to return his game, that is, if he wishes to choose to because the game still works except like Act 3 or 4.

I'm at General RAAM on hardcore and pretty much have no chance...especially considering how much trouble I had on casual. Anyone willing to help me on co-op?

It seems like the glitchers have calmed down. After that shotgun chainsaw released everyone was doing it, but now it is a rarity to see someone do it. The game has gotten a hell of a lot better over the past few weeks, though many have been leaving to play Halo 3.

And I should be getting my seriously real soon as well. I have like 8800 kills and probably a good amount more from all the ones that didn't count.

Sounds good. We usually have four (2 of the other guys are super dedicated as one is 600 on the leaderboard in execution and the other is 11th), but on a night like tonight I definately would have reached out as almost everyone except me and another buddy got offline early.
