Update 12/15: DLC To be released 12/24 for Free
Mike Capps admitted that the DLC has been in development for a long time now, which indicates it is most probably ready.

Awesome news on the free DLC!

I'll be playing multiplayer more often now that I'm done with classes for the semester, if any CAGs want to add me to play some games sometime!
 
One thing's for sure: there won't be a connection bug fix. That glitch in which you cannot hear and speak to a person who joins a game late is apparently not an Epic/GoW issue but is a Microsoft/XBL issue.

Alot of Marcus's backstory doesn't make sense.. If another gears is made (and it will happen eventually) I'd prefer it a prequel or a sequel with flashbacks to cover the story elements missing... seems marcus has a connection with her and I'm still confused why marcus's house has all that crap underground...

You make it sound like that's a bad thing. We should all appreciate a studio that will give us free maps, instead of charging us an arm and a leg for DLC.

I appreciate it. I secretly long for more single player content, but know we won't get it. So I'll be grateful for the 400,000 maps we'll probably get in the next year I guess...
 
so i want to play online versus, is it possibly to play 2 people on the same account w/ 2 controllers on the same xbox for this? so lets say me and my cousin both want to play online versus on the same team on the same xboxhow would i do this? does the other controller sign on as guest or soemthing

yeah..sign them on as a guest and you can play online. it won't work if you sign them on as another xbox silver account.

The single player mode is fun, but rather short. Sure, you can increase the difficulty to make it seem longer, but the overall length is short no matter how you cut it. Honestly, if you don't have Live, this game is (in my opinion) rental material. It looks great and plays well, but you can beat it quite easily.

As for multiplayer, you'll either love it or hate it.

Edit - I'm looking forward to the new content, especially since it's free.
 
For Single player only this game kicks ass, i've played the single player over and over and over a bunch of times. There really isn't any incentive to keep playing it over and over but it's just really fun. I would recommend it even though you don't have live.

you can only have 2 people on one console, so if you're playing offline multi make sure you have at least 2 360's for 2v2 action
 
Folks,

This is a hoax.

We've already stated that we are working on releasing an update soon but we don't know the exact date of the release yet because it has not passed certification yet.

I wish the fan sites and online media would check with me first before they post stuff like this. Pretty much all of them have at least my email address (if not my phone number) and I check mail many, many times throughout the day.

The whole viral thing is much more bungie than epic. Epic has always been pretty straight forward about their plans. they may not show you all their cards, but at least they let you know they're playing the game.

I was at Wal-Mart tonight doing some shopping. After getting something for my mom and most of the Friday the 13th movies (all but 3) for $5 each, I went to the games section.

What caught my eye was not the 1600 MS Points card, but the 1600 Gears of War MS Points card.
It's decorated with the cover art, nothing special about it other than that and at the top?
I'm paraphrasing, but something along the lines of:
"Use your Microsoft Points to download exclusive Gears of War content from XBox live!"

I took a picture with my cell phone, but as I've had it for only a day I can't register on the site yet (Cricket) to upload the photo, but tomorrow!

THey are just generalizing.l...that means nothing. Microsoft will prolly charge us but epic wants it to be free...as for the card its nothing more than a 1600 points card advertising buying things on the market place including gow stuff

Little late to the party, but I was looking through the list of achievements and I gotta say that I love that the Torque bow achievement is called the nuge.
 
I HAVE A QUESTION!

Its been bothering me since I first played online.
How are some people able to ROLL over cover? Their character physically rolls over the cover. How do you do that?

I've seen it countless times. And every time I ask them, they dont really say. Once a guy said, "I dont know. It just happens" but ive played a ton and it never happens.

Is there a button to hold?

I saw it once when I first started, and I thought I was seeing things. Then I played a game recently and saw it happen by the same guy 2-3 times and another guy once. And then a couple more games I saw a couple guys doing it.

Im thinking it might be an animation glitch? Cause I know the characters do it in Singleplayer. Maybe it glitches and shows your character rolling. . . Im not sure.

I've looked through Gears of War forums, faqs, cheats, youtube ect. ect. Nothing!

Am I just crazy?

It's just a visual glitch. You'll never see your own character do it, but others will.

That does it. I'm sick of damn ranked matches. I'm sick of kicking major ass in a game, say, having 15 kills and one or two deaths, and then not having the match count towards my stats. And then, in the next game, when my team loses, even if it's a three on four with us being the side with fewer people, that's when it affects my stats. What the hell is with this? I've had at least three or four major victories simply never appear on my stats at all. Considering I've only played about 10-15 games, my record falsely shows that I'm about the worst Gears of War player of all time.
