In all seriousness, its good to have you back green and sorry about your loss. On the brighter side, the Brew crew has been pretty impressive so far this year.(idk if you are a brewers, or even baseball fan, but yeah

Wow, I never knew so many people had a crush on me...... ;)

And yes, Craven, I am a Brewers fan. They have some good young players so its nice to be able to be a little optimistic abut the next few years.

Just wanted to say I had a good time playing with a few CAGs last night. We didn't win every time (or most of the time), but doing matchmaking with some people I'm affiliated with is why I wanted to join the CAG clan in the first place.

I popped on last evening to try and get in a game or two with you, and you had disappeared right after I showed up.

We'll have to fix that sometime shortly.

how about tonight at about 11ish CST? or do some custom team games. like the neutral flag snipes in the hump day challange. that challange also proves we will have maps within a week. =]:applause:

Shouldn't be an issue that I can think of. Should be there.

I hope we'll have new maps shortly, since I just ordered the Halo 2 Exp. pack for in-store pickup from EB today. Didn't want to pay for the shipping, and I'm sure I'll get it on release day at that point. So, yes, Bungie & Microsoft will get double-dip money from me for those maps.

Yeah, sorry about that, Shrike. My lovely fiancee came home, and was bearing piping hot chicken pesto pizza. It was an offer I could not refuse.

I should be able to log on at 11pm CST tonight per craven's suggestion.

Ok, I have a suggestion for the staff. This is not criticism by the way. Can we start playing a little more matchmaking. Preferably 4vs4 matches. No offense but we never and I mean never play matchmaking. I have played two major clanmatches since "the great divide" and we actually won both of them (woohooo). Other than that, I have played no skirmish and no slayer with the current cheapassgamer clan. The other night craven invited me a few times and I didn't come over just because I was having a great time in Team Skirmish with 2 buddies from back home and a random. I know there are some people that would rather play matchmaking than custom games so when the time comes speak up and we will go play. Thanks guys and give me some feedback on this issue cuz playing matchmaking is what I play halo for.

exactly what i was thinking...i just didnt pipe up sooner b/c i didn't know if anyone felt the same way that i did...i love 4v4 matchmaking...hate BtB and custom games are usually ok, but not as fun as 4v4 matchmaking (IMO)

hope to play more 4v4 in the future :)

tuesday are generally for custom games. thats why we play custom games on tuesday and do matchmaking on wednesday. the only reason we didn't do matchmaking this wednesday was because of the fact we had too many people and i really didn't want to split off into groups right then. and later in the night when we needed a few people to play a matchmaking game later in the night, you still wouldn't join. not once did you ask us if anyone wanted to do matchmaking, that would've eased the burden on me, but all is good.

what it all comes down to is practicing with us on said days, that way when it comes to matchmaking and clan matches(real ones after the reset) we have a solid team going into the match.

well it you are at both days of practice, the 2nd day is matchmaking day, so just speak up on those days and maybe you'd be heard.

yea craven, but when we have 8+ players, that is the best time to do 4v4. We never have more than 12 cags on at one time. I just grind my teeth when we play uncompetitive games like zombie and haloween so I thought I would try to figure out who was more interested in matchmaking.

hey man, i am almost always willing to listen, so speak up next time instead of leaving and not saying anything. we aren't mind readers, just staff. so i'll lend my ear if people are willing to speak up.

also, the custom games are meant to get us warmed up. i know halo ween isn't exactly a warm up, but it does teach you how to use proximity chat to your advantage. and zombies, well zombies is fun to play when there are lots of people, strength in numbers. slowly picking off your enemy is always a good idea. but speak up and we can do more objective warms ups.

Like, I said, I am not being critical. At this moment I am speaking up like you said. I just think that we need to find groups of four that understand one another and playing custom games is not the way you do that. I think on matchmaking night if there is a lot of people on then we should split up into groups of four. I know some people may get left behind but that is just how the cookie should crumble on matchmaking night. Custom games night is for people to learn I guess and matchmaking night is the night to put or skills to the test. Ya dig?

even the most remote of all custom games develop some kind of skill, and playin a custom game is sometimes better to hone a specific skill than matchmaking

I understand what you are saying but you can never duplicate the randomness and unpredicability of matchmaking. Its important to help you think on your feet and adapt, which you miss out on custom games if that is all you play.

yes, matchmaking makes for better fighter overall, but it is harder to hone something specific in matchmaking, like sniping. i will admit though that custom games cannot accuratley simulate every aspect of the actual experience

in my opinion, team training is the best way to teach you to think on your feet because, while most of the people playing suck, it plays slayer and skirmish games and has more randomness and variety than matchmaking, plus, some of the games that you get in team training are a helluva lot funner than the matchmaking games you get,
what I like about matchmaking, however, is that it is much more intense and more is on the line than in unranked games

Listen to what just happened to me. I was playing campaign on halo 2 and I gave my rocket launcher to one of the soldiers so I could conserve the ammo. I was on "the sacred icon" or something. Anyway, right after I gave him the rockets we were hiding behind some cover and he popped up to fire and shot the fucking wall that he was using as cover. The worst part is I had reached a checkpoint at the exact same time so everytime I respawned he blew me up again. Doesn't that suck and now I don't want to restart the level.

yes, i know that, but sometimes, custom games are played on matchmaking nights as well...

I would love to play matchmaking more often, we have already missed a great opportunity of playing Clan matches before the levels get reseted... we still have a couple of days though... how about we play some of those on Tuesday and Wednesday Craven? Or at least some Team Skirmish and BTB, and get a good sense of how we play together before the levels get deleted...

I think the levels are reset this monday

If you die enough times in a short period of time, it should reset you back to a checkpoint before that one. It's happened to me before.

Wierd night on Live... Menu kept freezing up and kept getting "can't find your game" message. Also my clanlist was entirely offline eventhough I knew people were online.

I just now noticed that the Game Viewer now shows icons for grenade and melee kills in addition to weapon kills. That is all the way live.

yeah, i had lots of weird shit going on too. bungie says everything should be back to normal by the weekend.

Sorry for dodging out on you guys at practice. I got a call from my girlfriend and I was playing really poorly, so just got off for a while and made some pizza.

I had fun playing with Shrike, Asian Kid, and Trakan last night -- though they probably didn't have as much fun with me, as I was the weakest link. Sorry for bugging out, but a few former co-workers were on, and I wanted to socialize with them for a game or two before I called it a night.

It's amazing how much people talked smack last night. The funniest thing was, we beat the vast majority of them.

Yeah, that always sucks. And then if you win and weren't talking shit, they leave the Post Game Carnage really quick or act like morons and say we weren't talking smack.

The people most likely to leave smack in Halo 2 are:

1) People that need to have their ego stroked the most because they have the least self worth off of Halo 2, and use it to make them feel better.
2) They think they're so uber-leet, that all people will never beat them. Problem is, there's always someone better.
3) The only social interaction they get is on Halo 2, and they have to act like the dominant alpha person, so they know their time is well spent.

It was a lot of fun to play some games with you last night, I'm sure we'll do it again some time. And no, you're not the weakest link. Trust me on that.
For the hell of it I decided to play some Halo on XBC. It's such a huge difference. I sucked.
Maybe it wasn't you who sucked, I think it was Halo. Which I'm sad to say sucks compared to Halo 2 when I go back and play it.

man, i'm not sad to say it. if halo 2 hadn't of been a giant leap over the overrated first one i would have been grossly disillusioned. thankfully, bungie's sequels have always been significant improvements.

Blasphemy. Halo: CE is still fun as hell to this day. It's just a completely different game than Halo 2, which is much faster-paced. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather play Halo 2 than Halo: CE, but I'll still plug in the classic from time to time.

Yeah, and I'm liking your new custom rank. Fits so well.

If I could get some system link games goin in my area, I would without a doubt be playing Halo 1 every once in a while. The lag on XBC kills it though. I still like the game, as different as it is.
