Which reminds me. I wish the Virtual Console would get KI. Maybe it wasn't a great game but I played that shit all the time. I was so mad when they ditched Cinder and Riptor for the sequel.
Rare owns the ip for KI so it will never show up on VC.
Shit yeah, CC's and parries, plus tag matches and team ultras.

Edit: Also, roll canceling. Add that too.
If SSFIV had RC'ing and CC's, I'd crap myself :)

I know, I certainly don't expect it to happen unless we get to a Wii 3 and Rare decides to be straight-up 3rd party or goes back to Nintendo.

Someday I just need to get an SNES again. All the ones I see on eBay are either the knockoffs or they're missing parts.

Rare is owned by microsoft now, and they tend to use studios till they become unprofitable and then close them. So expect rare to die if their Natal games and Natal as a whole putter out. They've been a huge loss for microsoft thus far, not a single hit and they cost a ton of cash to purchase. Nintendo laughed all the way to the bank.

Ah, see, I didn't realize that MS outright owned Rare, I thought they were just paying for exclusivity.

fuck me, I'll have to find an SNES someday.

And yes, Nintendo is laughing to the bank for many reasons nowadays.

Fighting Street.
I wonder if the cutscenes in SSF4 are completely new or mostly recycled.
new. Another studio is handling it though don't be surprised if the old ones will still be on disc.

O_O ... go play CvS2 then! I'd cry if all of that happened ... 'cept the parries, those are cool.

If I could pick grooves in SFIV, I would die a happy man.

I'd quit SFIV and go to T6 if that happened.

Interesting. I wonder who hates who now?

I haven't played SF4 in a couple of days. I'll probably go back to it tonight. I have to practice using the Stick. So many things I have to learn.

Parries AND Just Defends. It would make SFIV even more defensive. :bouncy:
I want Binary Groove... fuck em wit 0s n 1s
The only groove you'll get is Pug Groove, you P-Groove scrub. I knew that groove was in your heart.

If you pick the wrong groove, you just might lose!

Keep rockin, baby!

This team is too strong, I mean, seriously, who let them in?

I'll kill you with bulging eyes and breathing problems with P-Groove.

I just played some matches against the CPU. I stepped up the difficulty one more than usual (I usually play on Medium) because of the stick. I don't know if it's the stick or just me being crazy, but I actually did pretty well instead of getting decimated. So either the stick is making me a better player against AI opponents or I'm crazy.

I also managed to do Cammy's Normal 4 & 5 Trials, which have been a thorn in my side for quite a while. But no longer.

Play some humans if you really need to know if it's the stick or not.

also, my games with Phrost made me feel bad about how I was playing until I realized diagonals were only registering 50% of the time. I'm not using that as an excuse to my playing, just a hindrance. stupid 360 pad

360 pad is teh worst. That fact sunk in after my bro took his SFIV pad back. Doing a rdp is a chore. Even doing double taps to dash is unresponsive. Am I too old to get upset over a video game and scream: "It's the controller!"...?

people still play against the computer?!?!?!?

I still can't understand why Microsoft hasn't fixed that shitty d-pad. Oh, wait, they did.... with an official puke green controller for a European soccer game. WHY DON'T WE HAVE THEM HERE AND IN NORMAL COLORS!?!?!?
I tried to play online, but there was no decent match I could get at 4am in the morning.
Amen.

You'd think they would be selling it here, they could sell it for $10 more and call it an enhanced 360 controller for d-pad centric games!

Actually from all indications, the new D-pad did nothing to remedy the problem. Personally, I think them just ripping off the classic style Nintendo d-pad with 4 separate corner marks would be better.

Don't worry, it's not wrong.

I almost broke 2 of my controllers when SFIIHD released. I refuse to play it anymore due to the pad alone sadly.

before i went to japan i wanted to stay up all night so i can sleep it off on the plane

surprisingly i played sf4 straight through and had games all the time. i think i gained 2000 bp that night.

Same here. My wife picked me up a SF controller when it went on clearance but she said it's a Christmas present.....

No worries because my Xbox RROD days afterwards:roll:

Where are they clearanced?

At Best Buy, should be $20.

I totally bought the VC version of Street Fighter Alpha 2. What a terribly ambitious game. Capcom is a pretty tame developer but sometimes they do totally crazy shit, porting SFA2 to SNES was one of those things.
fuck no, I hate that shit, keep it out of my SFIV!
Agreed... I fell in love with SFA3 the moment I laid eyes on it, but for whatever reason I never had the slightest inclination to learn CCs. Apparently they're essential to A3's high-level play but whatever, I just don't like 'em!

I was surprised to see that on there. Does it still have the 3 second pause before a match? I would get it too , but I have the Alpha Antology so I get my Alpha fix there.

Yeah, I had to buy that if only for the "Wait... that can't be right" factor of a SNES port of Street Fighter Alpha 2. I only played for a little bit but I didn't notice any excessive loading or problems with the controls. Maybe playing it from the Wii's memory helps the speed relative to the old SNES cart.

Just picked up Virtua Fighter 5 (360) from NewEgg for 10 bucks with free shipping. Just a heads up in case my FGT brethren wanna get in on it.

When I get it in you'll have to p'own my crappy Jeffrey, Hank.

i hate microsoft i havent played with my 360 in a year and i turn it on last nite and bam freezing screen with red dot s:hot: then rrod shitty box

The VC version of SFA2 still has some weird pauses but I only played the actual SNES version a few times over 10 years ago so I can't comment on them being any shorter on the VC version.

I have SFAA too but I'm enough of a completest that I really wanted this. I was actually tempted to hunt down an actual SNES cart of the game but the urge has since faded.

oh man, SNES Alpha 2! I actually had the cart for that one. My local Toys R' Us had a ton of them on clearance in like 1997 I think. I played it with two of these suckers that I found for $5 each at an EBgames:

Anyone else use the "Soldier" pad??

No but awesomely, SNES SFA2 includes an option to automatically map the controls to be most compatible with that pad... thing.

I saw like 20 of those things sitting in a bin at Super Potato. I used to have one but I didn't like it. My favorite SNES fighting pad was the Turbo Touch 360:

You didn't play it and it died... that makes no sense. :whistle2:s

Will do. :) I'm probably super rusty though.

On SNES, I used these.

Favorite pad.

Stick. Thing is pretty shitty, but back in the day, it was either this or order a MAS.

I had that AsciiPad too. I remember my friend used Honda while having turbo on. He thought he was good while I felt like shit strugling with Zangief and my Turbo Touch.
