LOL what BlazBlue over SFIV? No way.. BlazBlue is a great fighter.. and a worthy successor to Guilty Gear, but come on. Not only is SFIV an SF game, but it's an SF game done the right way. Fighter of the decade
And that right there is why I voted for BB--because I would have been voting for Street Fighter IV based off of the series' past successes and not for SFIV's quality alone.
Don't get me wrong, SFIV is a well-above-average-quality game, but it's not a "great" game yet. It has balancing, move-prioritization & hit-box issues, a lack of stage variety, a sorry excuse for offline mode variety, paid DLC stored on the disc, a forgettable soundtrack & terrible opening and closing story mode videos. Hopefully, Super Street Fighter IV will go a long way towards fixing these issues--thus becoming a "great" game. I want SSFIV to fix those issues so I can enjoy it for years to come like I did with SSFII:TNC on the SNES.
My point is that it takes more than just an online mode to make a "fighter of the decade"/great-quality game--it takes a total package of solo, multi & online options in addition to having great gameplay & and a memorable soundtrack to be the best. Personally, I think BlazBlue did these things better than SFIV.
Thanks for the B-Day wishes guys. I'm the ripe age of 28. I was hoping someone would get me Blaz Blue.
Happy birthday, Rod!
