man, these 26" tvs are expensive. this 22" 2333HD looks good though, and i gotta go chase a coupon for it and i'd get that if i can.

OR i can use my 22" monitor, but i have to buy an HDMI cable. but then i'm confused, i don't know how audio would work. i don't have a receiver and right now i'm using a splitter to connect the red/white cables to an external speaker system. and my soundcard only has a digital input and a one cable input so i don't even know how that works. maybe i can get a cheap receiver instead? i don't even have computer speakers. *shrug*

this is all so i can read the goddamn font in sf4 and other xbox titles. whack.

When I was an Inventory Supervisor at Borders we got stuff mis-shipped randomly. Everything from small FedEx boxes to pallets of entire books. Late last year I was expecting an important shipment of books (around 50 boxes w/ 1,600 items), found out FedEx shipped it to New Mexico. Yea, they weren't happy to get a call from me the day I found out.

Also you know if you weren't 2 hours away, I'd give you a ride to wherever your SFIV copy was. Hell, one of my friends who doesn't drive is at work right now and I'm driving him later to pick up his pre-order.
 
So I'm doing Ken's Challenge rooms and it tells me to

MP DP
and then some other shit. I can not get the mp dp to come out for the life of me. I just spent 20 minutes trying to get the timing figured out. Tips?
 
Are you sure it's HK to MP? I always thought combos worked from weak to strong, not the other way around.

Try doing a focus attack after the HK then qucikly cancel it by pressing f,f then do a MP.

monitor is the way to go!! I had a 19'' widescreen for my computer and played MGS4 on my regular TV... it sucked.

but sum1 on srk told me I can go HD using a computer monitor... it only costed me less than $20 and now I can read everything!! it's beautiful!!

all u need is a HDMI->DVI cable to connect your system to the monitor, and u can connect the sound from the s-video cable to the line-in on your computer.

so technically, u can only use either the computer or your game system. U can switch displays between the two, but if both systems are making sound then you will hear both sounds unless you keep one system quiet or on mute.

try to just focus on doing the HK->mp shoryu.

I think u can only cancel a close HK, which is different from a far HK, so maybe you need to adjust your jump-in

Ohh, I though you ment Medium Punch, not a Medium Shoryuken. Make sure you're jumping in deep so when you do the HK the animation is diffrent. You can't link into a Shoryuken with a nomral HK, you must be close. You should finish doing the medium shoryuken as the HK hits. Same with the focus attack. It must register with the first hit of the Shoryuken. It's all very quick.

I'm in the same boat as JEKKI. Siting at work reading about how much fun you guys are having. :( Oh well, I got Thuirsday & Friday off :)
 
Already Dee Jay & T. Hawk are rumored to be some new chaarcters. This is quoted from Fighters Generaion:


An interview with Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono from a recent Famitsu blog reveals that both T. Hawk and Dee Jay have already been developed into to pre-texturing 3D models. For T. Hawk, the developers even went so far as to come up with plans for how the he would fight in SF IV. "If there's demand from users, we're ready to revive them at any point." said Ono.

Famitsu asked Ono to explain how they decided which characters would make it into the home versions of SF IV. The selection process, he explained, was by a vote conducted in America. The voting was done with "light" users and "core" users alike. Characters like Cammy and Fei Long were in the top ranks of the light users. Rose and Gen were tops with the core users.

Ono added that those who stick with SF IV for a long time could see some "nice announcements." Famitsu asked if this means that players can look forward to a SF IV Dash ("Dash" is the Japanese version of Championship Edition). Ono responded: "I'd truly like to personally do this! Of course, demand from users is required. So please show your support!"

i'd still have to buy the HDMI cable for the 360. dang. but luckily my monitor supports HDMI input.

but i think it'll work, i just have to clean my desk so i have room for the speakers...

EDIT: wait. my xbox doesn't have hdmi. wtf yoz~

Grabbed a CE at Best Buy today
The game is really awesome so far
Only reason I have to put it down is so that I can study for the exam I have in about an hour lol
Me and my brother were playing, he was kicking my ass for a few minutes (and he's not much of a fighting game guy)
I'm just used to Chun-Li being so fast in SF2HD, so it feels kinda weird playing in SFIV
Can't wait till my Tournament Edition sticks show up on the 25th,
I think I killed my wireless 360 analog stick playing HD Remix...
 
Bah, no [unreserved] SFIV PS3 CEs at my local BB. I'll just have to settle for regular 360 from GS after work and hope DD has a copy allocated to me for whenever the heck they receive it. :p

I agree. I remember when SFIV was first announced they mentioned something about downloadable characters as a possiblity. But if they're charging $20 for a costume pack I'm scared to see the price for a few new chaarcters.

edit: Hey if we can get cleaned up fighters this way(online copy) in HD how about they give us at least a home version of "Warzard" even if it's not HD? Great looking game and interesting concepts.

yes, 11 hours here. :lol: I might beat my 40 hours of DOA:U in a week record.

just finished unlocking everyone. HRAP EX coming in tomorrow. Gotta run through Challenges and some Training mode, then I'm gonna start playing online this weekend.
 
Before any of this, you have to beat the game with Akuma first.
then--
--Set it to easiest
--First two matches: get a perfect (throw hadokens, they don't block)
--Next three matches: win with Ultras
--Rest of the matches, make sure to get hit once, don't get a perfect, don't use Supers or Ultras or Ex moves.

That should do it.
 
I need help with the challenge mode. It's the first task of the third level for Chun Li. It ask for Heavy Kick then Hyakuretsu Kyaku. I can't seem to string this together. Does distance matter? I noticed that up close heavy kick is different then when you're out further. Either way, I can't seem to pull this off.
 
I picked up the 360 CE at bestbuy today. I have 105 battle points!

I don't have my stick yet though, so playing on 360 has been absolutely maddening. The best I can do is a mp shoryu fadc into NOTHHHING on my 360 pad.

I dont have an mc pad either, nor is my ps3 version shipped -_-


SFIV is good stuff.
 
I fought asiancore's Gouken and it was my first time fighting this character. I didn't know he had counters so I kept going in at him lol.

Another funny thing is I don't know how to use this version's Vega. For some reason I accidently did EX versions of Vega taking off his claw into EX taking off his mask. Then asiancore proceeded to ultra me.
 
Thanks bro, that's what I thought, just wanted to confirm it with someone. I've been reading around Gamefaqs (my first mistake) and everyone has diffrent theories. Did you set it one round per match?

ahhh!~ I got it, but now I remember why I dont enjoy this game too much...

my execution is downright garbage!! I jus cant adjust to the game's speed and engine...

I thinking of maining Blanka and Dhalsim rite now... I was able to do all of Sim's challenges, but with Blanka I cant land the very last one!!!

also with Blank I was trying to do knockdown, forward hop until you cross over the opponent, Ultra.

but apparently, holding the stick towards your opponent and crossing over him does not count as charge??? I donno... but it aint working for me, I cant even get a blanka ball out.

I figured out the timing...

after u hop over the opponent u can either

1. do one back hop, and walk back 2.5-~3 steps

2. do two hops back.

then you will have enough charge to do a ball/super/ultra.

hopefully I can figure out the timing for hop over, one hop back, down-back charge

He spams the living shit out of that sucking thing to grab
I maybe get 2-3 hits on him lol...

Also, my experience online has been pretty shitty
Trying to find ranked matches is hard as hell
Either they are full or "unable to join" just because lol

I'm still enjoying SFIV, just frustrated :(
 
for unlocking characters do u have to go through arcade mode with that 1 character or can u just die on purpose and switch when u face seth?
say for instance i use e.honda for all the rounds then die vs seth then switch to sakura would that work?
 
Jump in on his ass when he does the sucky thing, free roundhouse to cr roundhouse. Just repeat 7 times! He's annoying ass hell though.

My best way to get matches was doing the arcade thingy and switching it to ranked, got 9 in like 3 seconds.

My record is 9-6!!!

Edit: Yeah fur, you can switch at seth, unless you're trying to fight gouken or gouki because they need no continues to appear.
