The game boy micro is great, uses the same screen that the top of the DS uses. Very crisp, clean and nice detail despite its small size. Fantastic D-pad as well, the only negative thing i can say about the system is the shoulder buttons take a little getting used to.

also, this site doesn't seem quite as active and on top of gaming news as it was a few years ago, yet more people have joined. maybe it was just newer to me back then *shrug*

I think it's America's collective ADD. Everything has to be awesome or it's boring in five minutes. Maybe we should make every American have dial-up access until the age of 18. That'll teach a little bit of patience. If that doesn't work, I'll break out the card catalog and the microfiche.

Alot of people don't even bother posting anymore because all they'll get in return is BS. Go out of your way to post something that may or may not be a deal? Not only do you get treated like a moron but people come out of the woodwork to tell you that the item is garbage anyway.

I see what you're saying, but the FT and GGT still seem to be pretty down to Earth...more so than the deals forum and other gaming mega forums like neogaf and gamefaqs (where everything is awesome or the worst ever or a battle to uncover the hidden viral fanboys) Maybe not so much on the GGT these days.

Agreed. FG Thread is fantastic.

I hate to be negative, but I stopped caring what non-hardcore FG fans felt about fighting games a long, long time ago.

Having to explain that having a good strategy, understanding start-up, frames, etc to someone who will always yell "cheap" at me is old.

sometimes i can go 18-0 against certain people

and then i can go 0-18 against other people.

when i go 18-0, i win all my clutch moments

Right here, QFT. All of it. That's why reviews of fighters are always taken lightly for me if done by somebody who isn't into fighters.

It takes more than a few hours to pass judgment on any fighter IMO. It takes a long time, unless it outright sucks ass. ;)

I know I'm get STHD on both systems but because I only have so many points right now on 360, I can't buy the Foo Fighters Album due to needing enough points to get STHD. I'll probably be on PSN more but if you see me on either, hit me up.
 
Hopefully, Wednesday will be SFIIHD day for me. Also, Capcom is the best dev. out there. I don't see anyone else doing remakes and new games and generally not fucking either up.

I'm really damn tired right now. I started playing Xenogears again from the beginning on Tuesday night, and I've only been playing at night time. And I'm like... 33 hours in. Which is slightly disgusting. That game sucks away all my energy for pummeling fools. Should be back just in time for SF though.

the new commandos game wasn't that great... and I hear the new 1942 is so so... so capcom isn't 100% bullet-proof.

i've nver played xenogears... always wanted to but xensaga discouraged me.
 
I know a lot of people will be busy this week cuz of Thanksgiving and what not. But what about a good old FGT get together for HD REMIX? What night is good for everyone? Thursday? Friday?

I don't think we'll ever have another Tekken night... I know I kinda don't want to, once you've gone 6, its hard to go back -_-

First, I agree with all the sentiments, I only post in the FGT really.

Second, someone play me in UMK! Not to call him out, but BoneMonkey quit after 2 matches cause I was "to good". It's all good though man I understand, but you shoulda asked me... I woulda picked Sektor or something :cool:

Third, as stated I'm getting HD Remix on 360 for sure, and possibly PSN depending on what time of day it comes out / how impulsive I'm feeling.

Fourth, Wednesday night would be better for me. Anytime from Sunday on should also be good.

Fifth, We should still have a Gears night. I play with a bunch of people on here regularly, but come on Rolento and MM and KainZero and AsianxCore. We need you guys to play!

Sixth, MvC2 re-release :bouncy::applause::drool::hot:

Seventh, I feel your pain KainZero. I only really play ST on GGPO, but I'm super streaky. If I can keep it close, it's over. One mistake though can cost you 1/3 to 1/2 your life in that game though, which is tough.

Eighth, I might pick up a new character for HD Remix besides Boxer / Dictator. I'm thinking Vega or Guile. (I pretty much play everyone though, just saying I might roll w/ one of those guys @ Evo this year)

Ninth, only one more semester of school till I'm a teacher! Pretty good feeling.

Edit: Just played some dude in ST on GGPO. He was Ryu, playing him the way I have trouble against that I mentioned earlier. Lost 3 out of the 4 matches I was Balrog, and then I picked Ryu and beat him convincingly in Round 1 using the same strat. He quit after round 1! lol

Foley, I still can't see you being a teacher, but that's pretty ghangsta that you're close to graduating.

And I dunno which nights I'll be playing. I'm gonna be home and have all my systems there, but my friends are gonna be back as well, so I might be busy wit dat real lyfe. and my b-day's on Saturday (I'm getting a Saturn omigod!... a Sega, not the shitty car), so that day's most likely a bust. But I should still be able to find more than enough time for some matches.

Not like I have to study for finals over break or anything. I need to get like a 62 on my BLaw II final to get an A. Point is, I wanna play some games.

Oh, and I don't like any of the next-gen systems. I'm totally that guy. But my reasons are legit, and it's not like I never play anything on them... I blame it on Japan fucking up completely.

I really liked Xenosaga, but Xenogears is like whooooooaaaaaa. Definitely my fave RPG ever.

And I was referring to Bionic Commando Rearmed and SFII HD for remakes. I think the sheer awesome of BCR alone would negate whatever they don't do well.

I normally play with my brother a few games when I get home, wouldn't mind playing with you guys, just be prepared for my profanity-laced tirade about lag after every round.
 
I'm down Wednesday night for SF. Anything after 11 pm EST is good for me. I got a seasonal job at Circuit City and we're getting ready for Black Friday. Yeah, I know retail sucks but bills have to be paid until companies start using my services again.

My normal work schedule prevents me from playing anything online late at night. Mostly because I work from 5-2pm then have class from 3-9:30pm :(

I'll mostly catch some of guys on randomly via PSN when I get HD Remix tomorrow though.

Foley, I'm always down to play Gears online, problem is work/school/girlfriend 2 hours away= I have no time for anything haha

Also Hank I'm glad you agree with my statement. I met a guy at a get together (that our very own FG Kristianator set up) who kept talking shit in general and to me, but wouldn't play me. He would openly mock that myself, Kris and our friend Dan would talk frames/start-up in certain games. When I asked him to play me in MOTW, he kept backing out, which then I openly called him out for not backing up his talk.

I don't mind new people getting into fighting games, I am just annoyed with ones like that who mock those of us who play competitively and constantly learn to get better. I also get annoyed with those who are scrubby and talk to others like they know it all, but mostly talk to people who aren't competitive and can't correct them :)

Doom/Strider/Sent ain't cheap. Your fault for getting trapped.

I'm all about exploiting glitches.

Loved doing it on Security using smokes to go through the laser barrier.

However, any time I lose in this game, it's always lag's fault. Lost a shotgun battle? Lag. Got chainsawed? Lag. One time I melee'd someone who was coming at me with a chainsaw and he still didn't get stunned. fuck lag. Also, fuck lag for making my hammerburst shots miss.

I actually played some T5DR online with one of my PSN friends the other day, and it was probably the best it has been, lag wise. I had some good matches.

That's DoA4 though, and I don't think I've ever had a DoA4 online match that wasn't laggy.

I've had ones that were outright slide shows and ones with seconds of lag, so just being laggy is probably the best you can get with that game. ;)

Nostalgia-vision and VF5 have ruined online fighters for me.
DOA4 makes SC4 looks like it has good netcode.

how can i learn how to get better at UMK3?

SCIV isn't bad, if you are super selective in who you play online, and know you can get 5 bars with them. I don't just play randoms, because I've had 2 bar matches from hell that I don't want to play ever again. :bomb:
