that guys bison game is good and all, but srsly who sits at home and records matches? that so sad and pathetic
Thats the internet for you. Plenty of people want some sort of e-fame, others completely live their social lives on it. Its pretty damn normal now. lol

I actually wish we had more recorded matches from old school days. Bison and Boxer weren't very popular at tournies when ST was out.

It takes all of two seconds to start up a video camera and he's informing people on youtube of how the game looks/feels/plays on the different consoles. He's actually being useful on the internet. Go figure.

DSP....how that dude makes me laugh. International SF professional shit-talker :)

My favorite part about SmallWind's video is him upset that DeeJay's super didn't come out when he didn't have full bar.

There is no questioning DSP's skills, I guess I'm just not a fan of serious shit-talking.

P.S: GO JIM!

He's really fucking obnoxious. I bet I could take him.

Okay, I'm back at school and already bored as hell, so I'm getting on SF HD. Ima just wait on the dashboard and do school shit in the mean time.
Joe, Clark & Duo Lon are confirmed for KOFXII. Look like Terry Andy & Joe are back togther again.

Oh wow. I just read this. Looks like no Mai, Mary, Angel, or B.Jenet.

Could this be the first KOF without Mai in some version of the game? Bold move, SNK. Bold move.

lol of course it's me getting raped... i don't even play Sagat I was going for the achievement :(

couldn't be one of my Balrog matches

I think I played that guy multiple times. can't remember if i beat him or not
Litchi match for yallz!!

notable combo at the end of round 1, and at the beginning of round 2 off a throw
Sweeetness. Is BlazBlue going to be multiplatform? I'm assuming that everyone's going to get it on the 360 if it is. :bomb:
I really am not a fan of Street Fighter so far. bummer.
spend time with each part in the series. form there you'll have a solid understanding.

I'm an alpha man myself and always preferred it over other version of the game though SFIIHD has made me question that lately.
I really am not a fan of Street Fighter so far. bummer.
I've always loved SFII, but I prefer the Alpha series instead. It felt more refined than SFII for some reason. I can't place my finger on it. I just enjoy the Alpha games(especially Alpha 3) more that I do any other version of Street Fighter. I'm not that crazy about SFIII, but I think that has more to do with the roster than anything. Street Fighter IV has fixed the roster mistakes that III made.

Give Street Fighter some time to "click" with you.

Wow do I suck. I couldn't find a place to se win to lose but I'd have to guess 3 - 12.. Seems everyone is better and that pos controller doesn't help. Sucks pushing left and jumping...

Bought this on PSN and XBL. The difference is ridiculous, the PSN version is nearly unplayable. I got in 2 matches out of 9 tries, while ive yet to even see any lag on the XBL version. Really awful. Its getting more and more difficult to defend the PS3 these days.

Hmm, people have been saying the online experience on the XBL version is better than the PSN version. Is that true? Well nothing can match local multiplayer... cept maybe a good game of GGPO. btw, GGPO netcode isn't in STHD, is it?

I don't have any trouble other than playing disconnectors on PS3. Weird. I'll probably get the 360 version soon.

i like sf2. when i first played it, not so much. probably because the metagame didn't advance much past me choosing ryu, my brother choosing zangief

if i fireball trapped, my bro would call me cheap
if i didn't fireball trap, my bro would tick throw me and call me cheap

so that was it.

the first fighting game i got real hardcore into was mvc2. like real real hardcore. i'd play fighting games for fun, but heck, i didn't even learn shoto j.hp - c.mk - hadoken until SFA3. mvc2 changed all that.

i bounced from game to game, mvc2, 3s, a3, a2, t5, vf4, gg...

when AE came out i thought i was all cool at it but i really sucked. i'd watch a few videos or whatever, but i never understood it.

but right before HD remix came out I decided to give GGPO a try
and man, i just really liked it. playing against someone was just an awesome experience and the more i played, learned, you start to appreciate the subtleties in the game, the mindgames. i like the simplicity, like the fact that people can't block in the air, the easy combos (with no ridiculous custom combos to learn), and just learning what beats what.

it's good. i wish they'd simplify it even more and just get rid of supers, but i like the fact that it's so simple. compared to the fluff of a GG.

fuck that. The minute it *possibly* gets announced for JPN PS3 or a states release I'll be picking that up for PS3.

My custom 'cade stick is wired for PSX/PS2, so is my T5 stick. There is no way I'd prefer the 360 version...not with that D-pad :)

P.S: Thank you Smallwind. After a loooooooong day of work, that video made me laugh for about 10 minutes.

Haha, Guile's backbreaker never gets old.

@Darth: I'd say give ST some time. It is widely considered the father of fighting games. I think it hits a nice balance between simplicity and strategy. Many of Capcom's games share similar systems, at least one thing carried over (supers, reversals, etc.). I never really had an appreciation for fighting games until I recently started picking up ST. Though I get my ass handed, I'm starting to learn a few tricks. For example, I would do nothing but button mash. Now, my button mashing is reserved for throws. Often I try to look for simple mind games: high and low, walking punches, tick throws, cross ups. Though these things happen once in a blue moon for me, my brain is slowly getting up to speed for fighting games, all thanks to some time spent in ST. (I still have this horrible habit of jumping in at the most inopportune times...)

Start with the basics. ST is pretty much the basics. From then on you can go onto bigger and better things.
Don't forget the SFIV stick for 360. :)
Didn't forget it, just didn't mention it :)

I guess I am biased outside the sticks I have though. 99% of my domestic/import fighters are for other systems other than the 360.

I think the only 360 fighters I have are Battle Fantasia, Hyper Fighting and UMK3. All my PS2 Imports and the bulk of my fighting games are on DC, PS2 and Saturn.

JEKKI, GG"s tonight in SFHD

Honda seriously makes me nervous, mostly because I remembered what he could do in ST. Also because with so many Shoto players online, I am constantly figuring out how to play against the new Remix versions of the not-so-played (online) characters.

Ochio Throw is the SF equivalent of a pie in the face. Shit kills all momentum :)

GGS asian core...

Blanka is a bitch! once u start getting all those jumping shorts on me I cant do anything! my jab torpedos and short flash kick things always get out-prioritized or crossed up and I'm screwed again!!

either that or I cant get out of the blockstun!!

plus when I actually get you on knock down I dont kno what my options are, so I always risk jumping in hoping I dont get shocked!!

at least by the end of the matches I found out jump straight up and roundhouse was useful!! in the corner tho... I'll hafta test that later =P

btw u're the only person so far I've had to consistently use Honda against! everyone else is like beat them twice then play random for the rest of the set

If anyone knows...

Out of the choices of the HRAP Orange or the HRAP SA2, which one would you get? (MarkMan? JEKKI? SmallWind? KainZero?)

Looking at pics, is it me or is the HRAP SA2 button layout different than the HRAP Orange?

Though I'd like to get another custom stick, I might just suck it up and add a third PSX/PS2 stick to my arsenal. Always wanted an HRAP.

P.S: I gotta play a non-Blanka character against you guys next time I play. I really want to get my Dictator, DeeJay, Sagat and Sim game up to par.

Are you going to mod the stick(lever) portion at all? Or are you going to keep it Sanwa?

If you're going to keep it Sanwa, I say go with whatever button layout you like (HRAP1 vs HRAP2).

HRAP1
L1 [] /\ R1
L2 X O R2

HRAP2
[] /\ R1 L1
X O R2 L2

If you want to change the stick to Seimitsu, I'd suggest getting an HRAP2/SA.
Nope, going to keep everything as is.

Are the SA2's button layout slanted downwards, or am I just imagining things?

So the Orange HRAP is just an HRAP1 with Orange Buttons :)?
HRAP2SA is based on 1P side on a Japanese cab and the orange is based on the 2P side.
Thanks MarkMan and Smallwind!

Looks like I know where part of my next paycheck is going (and maybe a copy of Sengoku Basara X)

Yea, Amazon HRAP is just the HRAP1.

That's because Alpha (Zero) is more refined. Animation and movement is smoother, cleaner, and input seems more forgiving. You also have a larger variety of movesets and speed differences. The game was also just plain faster. The can be attributed to the advancement of technology, but regardless I prefer Alpha as well (even though I've always been a SF fan).

I gotta work on my other character wins for STHD at some point today. I Dhalsim, T. Hawk, and Balrog done. At least I got my T. Hawk and Dhalsim out of the way. Also, why do half the people I play use Ryu? Do they just want to lose?

I wish I could find these Ryu and Ken and Akuma players you speak of. I'm tired of trying to out play DeeJay. -_-;

I personally prefer the HRAP1 to the HRAP2 if only because my fingers tend to drift to the outside and I hit those extra two buttons on the HRAP2 and wonder why my moves don't come out. I also like the spacing.

That could be because I have an HRAP1 and not an HRAP2 and I just got used to it.

I thought getting ranked wins with all characters was pretty easy, for some reason I had a hard time winning with Chun and Sagat.

All that... and I'm still ranked 200-something. I think I'm permanently stuck there.
I thought getting ranked wins with all characters was pretty easy, for some reason I had a hard time winning with Chun and Sagat.
Actually Sagat gave me the hardest time. I wasn't really getting anywhere until I tried playing some keep-away.

I was nervous about Zangief and T. Hawk (I've never been great with the grapplers; even less so on a pad) but I got some lucky matchups early on with them.

I get that a lot too. Usually I'm playing as Bison or Balrog so it's just me waiting for them to make mistakes. If I see one more Cammy just cannon spike an entire match, I'm gonna break something.

Hey guys, remember me when I said I bought that Saitek controller?

Yep, I stand corrected:It sucks. Face buttons have a nice feel, but D-pad is atrocious and analog is gonna take some time to get used to.

Eh, I got SHMUPs to play this with.

Anyone get the Master the of All Things achievement in STHD yet? I know I have at least one match won with everyone in a ranked online match.

I just rented MK vs. DC, after about 5 matches it is pretty fun.

My work got called off I get paid for it, but I don't work so thats XBOX all day and night.

I'm playing the PS3 version if that helps you. Also, I have trouble against DeeJay too :whistle2:(
