If we're going by the PS2 version of KOFXI my favorite team to use is: Duck, Geese, Gato. But my best team is: Terry, Clark, Oswald
What's with all the animal names...

Aw, that sucks. I love RISING TACO. But if he still gots BUSTA WOOLF, then that's all that truly matters. I'll prolly try him out sometime this week. Same with Gato, although with him, it's more a case of relearning to play him, since it's been a good few years since I touched MOTW.

Good point...

That Remix article was a great read!

Did you guys know that Q from SF3 was actually a character in the background of Ken's stage in one of the older SF2 versions?

I tried practicing K Groove over the weekend, and dear god did I do terribly. I didn't know how much I missed rolling until I couldn't do it anymore. Also, I might modify my team a bit, and wean out Yun, and just make it Lvl 1 Terry, Lvl 3 Joe. Double Cyclones demand it.

You won't miss it once you can JD on a dime. I don't run K mostly because I'd miss RC'ing too much.

Just learn to JD effectively, obviously learn your characters strengths/weaknesses in K, and obviously.....RUSHDOWN. I have to be honest that K almost rewards you for taking risks :)

I've heard this, but I think it's just a myth. Now if he was redrawn in the HD version..... I've also heard the Q is Balrog.
I got supremely lucky one day when the manager of a Game Crazy I frequent called me up one day, saying that someone had traded in a copy of CvS2 for the PS2. He said that he thought of me when he got it in, so he held onto it for me for a couple of days. Shit was hella tight.

I don't know anyone who plays with only two characters... you should always play 3. Put in a top tier person like Sagat or Blanka or Cammy or something. Yamazaki's also decent in K, as is Rock and Hibiki but yeah. There's a lot of good fun K-groove style players, you shouldn't just use two people. I heard there's even a good K-Raiden somewhere.

Over the weekend I hung out with my friend Gene / Hail and Kill. I saw him play and he's disgustingly good at this game. And amazingly, he doesn't practice anymore nor does he have any competition in SD. I don't know how he got so good.

I think there was talk of an old K-Raiden player from Japan. Other than that the only time I've run into a great K-Raiden player was up here in NorCal. Ran into a guy at SVGL who had a ridiculously good K-Raiden (and K-Zangief).

Gene's brain is a computer. Fact? Too good at CVS2

P.S: I also agree with KainZero, don't run 2 characters. K-Sagat, K-Cammy, K-Ken would be fantastic to run. Hell, lots of characters run well in K.
yeah, Q's design was entirely based off the background character.

I still think he has the best looking moves that qualify as face raping if done in real life.
Gene practiced a lot with Ricky/Choi didn't he? ! I remember bronson tellin me that.
probably. prior to last weekend i hadn't seen him in like, a year.
Gene's brain is a computer. Fact? Too good at CVS2
he wishes it was a computer, then i wouldn't have to help him with calculus.

but he was playing this one guy who was pretty good and damn. he was like 13/15 and out of those, there were like 8 OCVs.

anyway yeah. i still suck. i have this habit of knowing people who are really good and who can kick my ass repeatedly.

Any tips for a Chun player on facing Sagat, Shotos, and Vega?

Vega especially pisses me off because his standing attacks have longer range than mine..

Cammy sucks too, but I think it's just cause I'm not used to playing against her.
I'm pretty sure it's any pre-turbo edition.
In the original SFII: World Warriors, the guy is dressed in blue and is fleshy.

Dunno about the Gat or Vega, but Chun-li is hard to keep in fireball traps, and can mess up some shoto games with her anti air stuff.

Head hopping in the corner on shotos works too I think, not sure.

what do you have trouble with against shotos?

man... after this friday it's going to be nice to have free time... I mean I have free time now but still have work to get done for portfolio reviews.

guess what? I'm making an entirely green screen movie starting in january (starring an ultraman style character). Guess what else? all character names will be based off the FGT posters ;)

Really just watch the other player closely. Often poke with you cr.forward. Mix up your attacks and throw in some tick throws, i.e. jab >> throw or when they are knocked down, meaty or my favorite, df.roundhouse >> jab >> throw. Try to build up you super meter as often as you can i.e. jumping over fbs and doing whirlwind kick. Also once in a while do Chun's charged super: charge back, forward, back, hold forward and press a kick button whenever you want to let it out. If you have a chance, you could probably fake the opponent out and just do a tick setup instead because they'd be too worried about the super. Instant jump to headstomp is a good "overhead" as well can at most times out prioritize dps. A fast vertical jump roundhouse is also a good anti-air.

I've already got my Rock practices in, so he'll be a good replacement for Yun if/when I move from N to K.

Although, since he's so beastly in K...
Yeah running 2 characters is nuts. Never saw a great player doing it seriously.
For real? Hmm. Sucks.

Well, in between all my CvS2 and KoFXI, I need to prepare for this huuuuuge west coast Brawl tournament. Shit's gonna be nutso, since like, most of the left side of the US is gonna be there, from what I hear. I'd practice more against Metaknight (bitch is like the Sagat of Brawl), but he's a terrible match for me as is, and I don't know anyone who uses him hardcore.
Also, anyone have a Play-Asia coupon code? I'm ordering TvC.
Jimzzzz

I sent you a PM concerning TvC. Check yo shit.

Many, many millions of thanks to both djbooba and Halo05. Unfortunately, I was impatient and placed my order before I got the PMs from you guys. Coulda saved 8 bucks :(

:bomb:

But yeah, I didn't use those coupon codes guys, so feel free to send them to some other guy in need.
If you don't pick me you're a fool
You might be black in the movie... especially if it's the name Jimbo Slice and not Jim Foley.

or black either way ;)

THIS! this is what gets my attention the most.

so i played blaz blue for the first time this weekend over at the puente hills mall. i picked litchee and I thought she had a lot of potential. too bad i didnt' have enough time to check it out more. I got rocked by this asian dude with a sack full of quarters.

I marked out for the jollibee across the hall and was instantly reminded of jekki. I miss hanging around here. i really gotta stop lurking and start socializing again.

p.s. I suck really bad at blaz blue

If he lives up to his name, he'll go out in one punch ;)

If my budget allows it I'll try my hand at making giant robots >_<

but seriously, you guys don't realize how fun, hard as fuck, and awesome it's going to be.

I'm hoping to contact a chiptune artist to record the intro song once all filming is done...
