I think I'm going with the 360 for Street Fighter IV and Tekken but I might get KOF on the PS3.
what's ur reasoning on it for PS3? just curious
what's ur reasoning on it for PS3? just curious
I know a couple close friends that will get SFIV and Tekken but won't touch KOF. I'll get SF and Tekken for the 360 so I can still play with them but KOF so I can play with some of you guys that will just get the PS3 versions unless, of course, the 360 version of KOF is vastly superior.

That was just dirty, MarkMan. Well, at least we can all import for the PS3 if it never reaches our shores. I'm sure Mexico will get really heated if they don't get a version of KOF.
Who knows if its even coming out for 360?

Not sure if this counts as an endorsement... but I saw this earlier on IRC...

[10:59] oh hey
[10:59] i played on the new TE madcats sf4 sticks
[10:59] now thats art
[10:59] worth the $150?
[10:59] hell yes
[10:59] thats a good endorsement
[10:59] alright, imma preorder one
[10:59] approved eh?
[11:00] everything on that stick is high quality
[11:00] * FMJaguar changes topic to 'mrwizard=the #capcom ducker | +v = retard | SF4 TE Stick appoved by BoC'
[11:00] wizardi
[11:00] i have a pic of me playing on it
[11:00] i'll have to up it after lunch

So I have a signed 8 x 10 of CaliPower playing on the sticks, $100 BIN. Any takers?
KoFXII exclusively on Wii and PSP!

Oh and the Phantom.
You're joking but Alpha 3 MAX actually was PSP exclusive.. and Dark Resurrection was too for a little while.

fuck you Sony/Namco/Capcom. Oh how can I stay mad at you.
I would throw up on myself if that happened.
This is the most appropriate response. I quite literally felt sick when I read that.

Calipower = Alex Valle
I'm pretty sure he played at Golfland and is pretty much a living legend in the Street Fighter community.
If these sticks suck, Mark Mang has some serious asskissing to do around here.
I will do no such thing... lol.

Just preordered SF4, game pad, and the tournament stick! Anyone up for some SFHD tonight???

Also anyone know of any good combo vids of asuka from tekken 5?

dood! I got the day after christmas off from work!!!

I'ma seriously play BlazBlue all day that day!!

:excited:

if I'm lucky enough to make any money on christmas, I'll prolly spend it all at the arcade on friday lol
I'm thinking of picking up King of Fighters XI. It's only 12.99 at Circuit City. Any impressions?
You missed it for 7.50 last Wed or Thur at TRU, but yeah its fun and worth it

I always miss TRU deals because I never check that thread. Most of the TRUs around me have closed up, though, and I don't know if I'd make a special trip out just for KOFXI. Makes me feel better... not a great loss.
Is VF5 Online still active on Live? Just wondering as I've been wanting to pick it up for a while now and its 10 bucks used at BBV.
WITH a buy 1 get 1 free. I picked up a copy the other day but haven't gotten around to playing it.

The Quest mode alone is worth $10. Seriously, that mode has 20-30 hours of gameplay there alone. VF5 was the most satisfying 1000/1000 GamerScore Points for me since Tomb Raider: Legend.

Yeah, I know. Was thinking of that and GTA IV since it qualifies now

Seconded. I hop on there every now and then. Some great players are still playing.

hey! story time!!

so at the arcade, at FFA, around the SFIV machine, there is a like a pamphlet thingy of papers stapled together... it's a Street Fighter IV guide someone put together.

it's real good!! It goes into the system mechanics of the game, then goes into each character.

For the characters, it gives a movelist, move properties (armor break, overhead, etc), combos, and strategies!! It not only gives matchup info when playing as the character, but also you can look up a character and read what moves can counter that character as well!!

it's real cool!

anyway, Hardcoregamer magazine new issue is out and... it has that (almost) exact same guide in it!!

the one in the magazine is missing a lot of the in-depth strats and doesnt list combos, but what info is left is in there and it's awesome!!

and it makes a lot of sense too coz the guy who wrote that guide used to work for the arcade, and still goes there a lot so most likely he also wrote the guide that chills at the arcade.

anyway, the PDF can be found at this link:

http://www.hardcoregamer.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=24&Itemid=24

go go go!! I gotta find me an actual magazine copy soon.

Arlieth did a great job with this, so everyone support it!

I'm glad I got to help out (even if it was really small)...

After reading that.. I'm not even sure I'm interested in SFIV anymore.. it looks way too complicated. Focus attacks, Supers, Ultra attacks, EX attacks... man I'm not into complicated fighting games. That's why I never got into KOF or MvsC2. :(

Holy shitz...

The tracking number for my HRAP2 SA says that the delivery date is tomorrow. Though it's shipping from SoCal, I wasn't expecting it so early.

Hopefully that shit is right because I know I'll be needing it after work :)
Calipower = Alex Valle

I grew up playing at golfland and i knew alev valle really well, we used to play sf2 all the time back in the day. Great guy. He is definitely awesome at fighters!

Also, my Mayflash Joybox PS2->GC Converter showed up already. Going to give it a try with TvC tonight.

Really? I used to regular SHGL as well. Alex and I go way back, which SF did you play with him? Cuz by the time Valle and everyone started going to SHGL no one played SF2 there lol.

I wonder if we knew each other IRL? And im not refering to SF2 the original, just in general. I remember when the SVGL crew came down for the SF3 tourney and it was Alex vs John (i think it was john, asian guy, really cool) in the finals and john won. I remember MvC2 first showing up and me watching alex play it like a shoto, was funny. Good times =)

I can confirm that the Mayflash Joybox adapter works perfect with the Tekken 5 PS2 stick. Just played a bunch of games with TvC on the wii without issue. I mapped all 4 buttons to the bottom row due to the button placement. Works out fine. Now i need to learn some of the cool combos!

ggs smallwind, crazy cammy might I add. It felt like a wall was closing in on me with all those cannon spikes. All I could sadly do was spam tiger shots and standing short...
