I hate to say it, but I got burnt out on Garou. I played it so much for 4 days straight years ago and my head hurt... I totally forgot everything about that game now.
One nice thing about the English/Japanese SFIV voiceovers is that you can take people more seriously who play it in Japanese, and have fun with people who play in english.
I thought it wasn't cool to listen to japanese voice overs...

I wish they had animal noises, like in the Suikoden extras.

Its just something about that meow that comes out every time you cancel that makes me a little warmer inside.

dammit, I was trying to do business with a guy on Shoryuken.com, and now they don't let you send PMs unless you have a minimum post count!

So I figured I'd post in the guy's thread instead, but they added a 100 post / 6 month minimum before you can use the trading forum. #-o

bahhhh... so freakin close to getting my custom stick!!! yet so far... :wall:

I guess I could try to think of 15 posts to make, so I could start sending PMs. But with the way that forum is, I'm probably gonna accidentally break some rule and get banned before I even qualify.
We'll see dude. I've driven farther to hang out with friends and even get some FG hangouts in. For a month I drove 1.5 hours to play SFIV in San Jose.

Do you live in Sacto near the edge of the city (near Elk Grove), Downtown or the crappy side near Orangevale?

I'll be working less starting next week, but I'm taking on 3 sections of Art History TA'ing as well as my own classes soon. Hopefully I'll be less stressed.

On a random note, it just hit me today that SFIV is a little over a month away. Wow
I live near Rancho Cordova. I'm still trying to get my bearings, but everything is so damn confusing compared to DC/SF.

I'm so picking up SFIV when it drops. I really hope T. Hawk is in it, 'cause I got my hopes up from that Dan mirror match (it had two extra slots where the New Challengers slots are).

I noticed that about SRK...it's a bit too clique-y for my tastes.

Those are for Akuma and Schlong... still they might be downloadable characters (doubt it).

Schlong was in the bottom-right of the select screen, next to Dan, for whatever reason. There's also an extra space next to the infinity symbol, opposite of the random select box. Could be for Akuma. *completely in denial*

Nah dude, that's Gen. Top right boxes are Akuma and Schlong. Middle left box is Seth.

@Mr. Beef - That Godot avatar brings back some amazing memories, especially that last case in T&T....I wish the Phoenix Wright games had more(or any) replayability.:cry::cry:

I replay them all the time, but I space them out so I kinda forget the answers to everything. Even though they don't have a lot (if any) replayability, it still feels magical when you beat those final cases.

So where you guys ordering SFIV from? And for what system? I'd ideally like a decent price.. don't care TOO much about the CE, although I would get it if the price was right. Also, what's the deal with exclusive downloadable content? Is that for real? I think it was gamestop that said they have exclusive costumes, I won't be able to buy them off of Xbox marketplace?

See, because I'm a giant whore, I'm going to try and preorder from Hollywood Video to see if they offer the excusive preorder bonus medallion.

Hopefully I'll be getting the game for both systems.

Gamestop shouldn't have exclusive downloads. The exclusive downloads are part of the Collector's Edtiion. Whether or not they can be purchased off the marketplace has not been answered.

So SFIV has Akuma AND Shen Long (yeah, I'm late)??? Does Shen Long play differently than a standard shoto at least? I kinda assumed that, since they were doing a new game from scratch, they'd veer away from semi-redundant shotos (aside from the necessary inclusions of Ken and Ryu, that is).
I noticed that about SRK...it's a bit too clique-y for my tastes.
Haha yeah, basically my plan is 15 posts then GTFO. At that point I will have satisfied their new, ill-timed post requirement, so I can resume my PM conversation with that guy in the trading forum.

I'm up to 10 posts so far. Mostly in their general forum... that seems safe!

From the few gameplay videos I've seen (but I'm sure that many posters here would be able to tell you from hands on experience), Shen Long, or rather Gouken as he's called in SF4, has a ground dual Hadouken (one travels forward and one anti-air), a vertical rising Tatsumaki Sempuu Kyaku, and Shin Shoryuken.

I believe there was a video posted in here earlier?

Damn!

So I got bored today, and decided to dust off the ol' SNES and play some TMNT Tournament Fighters. Holy shit, the AI is rough stuff, even on default! I must've burned through about 6 continues before I got to the second match! After that, I just turned it off. fucking shit!

GG's Beef! Sorry I left you, but I was getting tired of HD Remix. Your T. Hawk is looking pretty good!

Using a controller produces weird moves that I don't mean to do at times. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's bad lol.

Edit: Oh wait, wrong thread.

That movie looks horrible. At least with the first one, I was expecting camp, and that's what I got. It also had a ton of characters that I could recognize right away. This one... I friggin had to IMDB that shit to find out the bad guy was Bison... Vega, Balrog I get (well, I assumed Balrog, just cuz Michael Clark Dunkin is black...) but wow, is that all the SF characters we get in a SF movie? Sad.

So correct me if I'm wrong, but we have at least fascimiles of:
Bison
Balrog
Chun Li
Vega
and according to IMDB, but IDK if everyone knows it
Gen

Is that friggin IT?

Thanks. I don't know what I was thinking picking Balrog, but apparently he worked in a few games. Almost makes me want to practice him too, but I'm not too sure.

last issue of EGM...

Gen's in the trailer, he's way younger than he's supposed to be or something like that because they didn't want him to be a wise old master character......because that's what he is or something?

So like... I played Street Fighter IV (final version) for like 4 hours straight today.

This game has set a new standard for presentation (fighting game wise).

WOW.

cable, and ditch ryu for magneto!

That was the first team I started playing real people with,

Magneto, Cable, clops! In projectile, AA,AA assists!

But I love ryu.

I don't think I have magneto unlocked.

I hate how there is no moves list.
Ryu is pimp, and so is Clops. You should go Cable, since they have like, the same move list. All three of them.
Will do. I just now figured out thanks to gamefaqs that you have to hit the buttons twice to get out the medium punch? Odd.....

I can't figure out any of the supers other than the giant 3 man one. Is ryu's not the same as in ST?

Naw. Everyone's supers are done with one motion and two punches or kicks, whatever is usually required. Everyone also has like, 3 supers. And most of those supers can be done in the air.

MAHVEL, BABY.

Shit, game is deep. I guess I'll have to brave a wall of text gamefaqs faq and figure this out.

Or go to shoryuken...

I don't like the hitting the button twice thing, that will take forever to get used to.

I'm gonna be fucked next time I play HDREMIX lol.
If you're using Cyclops or Ryu or Cable, most basic super to use is QCF+Light+Hard punch. Shit will get you out of most jams.
I'll remember that for when I'm playing tomorrow.

I need to find a better version of what I'm playing or something, the sound cuts out too much.

You're not alone refused.

I've played a couple of fighting games here and there, but I've never been big on them.

I bought the SF anniversary collection for PS2.
Maybe it's 'cause I'm a noob, but am I the only one that has trouble pulling off combos when I'm on the player 2 side?

starting off with fighters, playing on 2P side takes some getting use to. just get comfortable with 1P side then slowly you'll get better at 2P side... just don't force yourself to be on the left side when ur opponent switches sides.
i know im alone on this but...im WAY more pumped up for KoF XII than SFIV
Has there been any recent news on KoF XII? I would be more excited about it, but I'm sort of disappointed at the roster. I know they're making new HD sprites, but XI had so many chars. Maybe they'll surprise us with a multitude of unlockable characters. Still hoping for K' and Elizabeth.

Perfectly normal. Just takes some practice.
