I only see SF Remix and VF5 on that list of good fighters... hmm...

GG is good, but Reload... nah man, gotta update!
Maybe I know a lot of hard core people, but I know a hell of a lot of people that own Guilty Gear.
You're missing Fatal Fury :bomb:.....maybe not

Isuka is fun and decent, but its not viable as a competitive fighter.

You have to press a button to turn, and there's noticeable lag when doing so.

I played Isuka for a day and sold it the day after. really made me hate GG in a away I wish I didn't... at least the series is still a fighter right? right???

Speaking of which, how is the game? Did you play through the one we sent out to you?

Was thinking the same thing. Wondering if it's worth a Gamefly rental.
What?! I sent it out like 4 weeks ago, to the address you emailed me ! X_X

I sent it via priority USPS X_X ... well.. that sucks.

Let me ask my Aksys contact if I can grab some more games from him, cuz thats not right! :bomb:
yeah I thought it was weird I didn't get it, but no worries. Don't stress out over it. If it got lost I'm fine with it being that way so don't add more to your already full plate of things you do >_<

I'm fine with just knowing I won

Guilty Gear Judgment fixed the turn button problem that was in the other GG side-scroller mode (boost mode?) 4 player battles just proved that you can't just make a 2 player fighter a 4 player fighter.

Speaking of which, did people hype up 4 player fighters when you guys were growing up? Around here it was always like "Dude, my friend's uncle's lawyer's janitor's stepchild is a mailroom boy at Capcom USA and he said SF3 was gonna be 4 players with fatalities."

it feels liek dynasty warriors to me but less boring

People hyped the shit out of NBA Shootout '98. That's... about it.

I remember before X-Men CotA me and my friends fantisized about a Marvel Comics fighting games. We picked the characters, created a move list, drew picstures and everything. Then I think we mailed it to Capcom. Bastards took my idea and ran with it.

Remember in grade school one of my friends said that there was gonna be DC vs Capcom vs Marvel, and that it got canceled because DC had no characters and wanted Marvel and Capcom to put some of their characters on the DC side.

HAHAHAHAHA

I love Dynasty Warriors games so I'll have to check out GG2.

Markman, what is the best PS2---> Saturn converter and is it readily available.

All this talk about the Vs. games makes me want to dust off my Japanese Saturn.

Been listening to the Dreamcast retrospective on Retronauts and aside from gushing SC love (what DC owner doesn't love that game), there is a disturbing lack of fighter talk. I was happy to hear praise for Zombie's Revenge though. I might rebuy a DC just for that game

The guy at the store reassured me that this REALLY was, in fact, the real Street Fighter III, and for some reason I accepted this as gospel truth (despite the actual title screen clearly reading "Street Fighter II"). I like called a bunch of my friends and told them about it afterwards, lol.

I also flipped when I saw screenshots of UMK3... they showed one of a 2 vs. 2 match, and I flipped because I assumed it was actual 4-player gameplay (instead of just an "endurance match" type of deal).

Didn't the Alpha series have the "Dynamic Battle" or something like similar that was basically a 2-on-1 match? I remember playing that mode, but I forgot if it was in Alpha, or not.

GG2 is a lot of fun. It plays kind of like the Empires version of the DW games since you have to capture checkpoints along each map.

Alpha 3 had it. In the PS1 version you could only use certain characters. Like Ryu, Ken, and one other or Juli, Juni, and one other. The DC version let you use any 3.

You had a limited selection of characters (I think you had to pick a Ryu/Ken team of Juli/Juni) and you would do a series of survivor matches. I forget if this was single player, two-player, or both... it might have changed between the PS1 and Dreamcast home versions.

They actually had a version of this in the arcade version of Alpha ONE, accessible via some sort of code. Two human players would fight Bison simultaneously, and I think the game just ended after that.

EDIT: ^^^ gahhh, beaten!
I forget if this was single player, two-player, or both...
It was both. A few battles in the world tour mode were against the Ryu/Ken or Juli/Juni team.

FGT, I'm having trouble making up my mind and I need some help. I'm trying to decide whether or not I should pick up the SFIV FightPad or wait and see if I can get my hands on a (retail priced) TE stick, if it is indeed going back into production. I didn't reserve a TE, so I'm not assured of getting a TE stick even if I budget for it. WWFGTD? What would the Fight Game Thread do?:whistle2:k:whistle2:k:whistle2:k

And if you do prefer sticks... are you experienced more in the Japanese style or the American style? These are important things to consider!

If you've ALWAYS used a pad, then the fightpad is probably the best option. On the other hand if you prefer joysticks, but have always played on AMERICAN sticks, I'd say it's a tossup. I remember this stick I got back in the PS1 days always felt "wrong" to me, even though it got the job done... I realized later that it was a Japanese-style stick, so the square gate and everything was throwing me off! Japanese sticks are great, but the "feel" of them is a matter of preference... so just make sure you invest in something that will FEEL right! And if you ARE, in fact, used to Japanese sticks then I'd say this investment is absolutely worth it.

On a related note:
I'm def. going with a FightPad, but is there a cheap, effective way to buy one pad and use it on all 3 systems? 360's is wired, so that takes care of PC and 360, but is there an adapter for PS3? I wonder if, even though it's wireless, if the PS3 pad can be used on a PC just like the normal PS3 controller, if you use the USB for charging it.

Buy the pad. Then buy the TE Fightstick.

You can always use the pad for your friends, when they come over for Street Fighter matches. That way, they can't complain and blame the 360's crappy d-pad.

WHAT? Zombie Revenge?

Sorry, but all you need to remember about that game is 'bullets. bullets. bullets. bullets." No need to go nuts and actually play the thing again.

MM should have a review of the adapter soon.

i had a match yesterday in HD that basically came down to us with no health. i was ken, he was guile, he knocked me down in the corner and threw a sonic boom. for whatever reason, he walked forward, and since i was gonna die on block damage i mashed out a reversal SRK... which proceeded to hit him and win the round for me.

he must've been so mad after that.

any reason it has to be a TE stick? i'm pretty sure that the regular stick would be just fine anyway.

I've also been using both the analog stick on the 360 controller and an EX2 that I picked up last year for fighting games.

I'm not hurting for another stick. I do however play a lot of fighting games so I figured that the TE would last me this generation of systems when it comes to arcade sticks.

any reason it has to be a TE stick? i'm pretty sure that the regular stick would be just fine anyway.
I'm just thinking that the TE being the only stick I'd need for the rest of this hardware generation. One big(by game standards) investment to last several years.:D

Thank you all for the input!!!:applause::applause::applause: I'm going to reserve the Pad the next time I go to GS. If I'm able to pick up the TE somewhere down the line, that's awesome too.:D
sounds like a plan! If your other stick was an EX2... you may as well upgrade to it's super-badass bigger brother!
i still like the EX2

even though i have a fully modded HRAP1

yay EX2
