i was on SFHD and i played some guy's cammy. i realized that i forgot to change the controls so i played really bad and lost. i went to map my controls and then i joined a ranked game and surprise, it was him again. then i totally worked him. i wonder what he was thinking.

He was thinking that he should've quit while he was ahead.

I still haven't joined the SF4 party. Too much shit going on to drop $60 on a game I'll hardly have a chance to play until May or August.
on the note of online: fuck you. I come home relaxed after a good day, hop online to play some SFIV, and I can't win any full matches and now it's made me super stressed.

I know I'm playing Dan and I'm not the world's greatest SF player out there, but I work out my shit and know I put more of an effort than most of my opponents.

I'm happy with my play style, I just hate hopw most online people play. aww fuck... I need to bang something to get rid of this stress  :bomb:
99% of people at the 0-1500 BP level are terrible. i can beat them with my dan and i don't even know what he does, i just do air hurricane kick with short in hopes that'll cross up but it never does.

if you can't win against 0-1500BP then.... i dunno man.

 so I you say I suck

I think half of it is that I've never been too comfortable with the SF fighting system. Tekken is like butter to me while SF is like butter but the type you need to let sit at room temperature before using.
thx...still would like a decent guide but he seems like the least played character :(

I still say he's very underrated in terms of fighting ability.
u know that he can hit confirm/cancel into his Ultra right?? Do like a small combo, cancel into his super taunt, then immediately cancel into his ultra. The reason why this would happen is becoz Dan's specials are poor that using EX versions is the last thing you want to do.

one of the thing that makes Dan good is I believe his kick attack is real safe, you can do it to get close to your opponent and if they block you can be put in like a 50/50 situation.

and that's when u gotta play Dan... play him as a rushdown character becoz his other special moves are unreliable as fuck, but placed in rushdown and combo situations they become your tools.

as far as how to rush him down, I dont know, I do not play Dan. I'm only letting you know what the top players are saying about him. But regardless if you're having trouble with him, it just means that there's so much you don't know and you should put the effort into discovering.

his short dan kick is a good frame trap too, since it doesn't combo from a cr mk. So either it will land after a blocked cr mk or you can throw right after they block it.

anybody chillin at home on a friday nite?!?!?!

I'll be playing SF on PS3, trying to level up my Blanka and teach myself sum new tricks.

send me a message if u wanna get sum games on!!!
confirmed months ago ;)
And we're STILL waiting for Capcom's announcement of it...

CAPCOM!!!

YOU BASTARDS!!!

GET OVER HERE AND ANNOUNCE YOUR GAME LIKE A MAN!!!

If anyone wants to play SFIV 360 tonight for a bit against an El Fuerte scrub, I'd be happy to oblige. Probably in...oh, maybe 1.5 hours from now or so. 10 CST basically.

I don't like playing random people. :(
99% of people at the 0-1500 BP level are terrible
Agreed and might I add a tad predictable. After a couple seconds it pretty much easy to read their entire strategy and what they are/aren't capable of. Exploit that shit!

There needs to be an SFIV patch that tells new people learning Ken that his FDP isn't safe....not matter how many times you throw it out :)

thx... I've learned that i mostly need to just fuck with opponent's minds and that the kick special is his best tool. If I need to close distance and I have no fear of projectiles, I do a HK special to get in... if it's blocked it usually turns into a free throw for me. I need to play around more with his LK version to be safer.

I'll be putting more time into Dan definitly, though I feel I need more time practicing and researching.

Man.. ur link to Menage a 3 I keep clicking on and reading randomly over the past few months... it's basically turned into damn good archie porn. I don't mind... just saying >_

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLlNQxWth4A

watch the way he keeps doing electricity like it's nothing... freakin insane.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbnBfx-TiBo

and if u dont think Blanka got combos... got damn.

in the 2nd match he does j.forward crossup, cr.forward, st.jab, Blanka Ball...

I've been trying to do that combo for like over a whole week and never pulled it off once!!

I was beginning to think it wasnt possible, like u cant get enough charge, and he jus did it! wtf?!?!?!

so I already spent 2 hours playing online matches, I'ma spend the rest of the nite in practice mode practicing combos n execution, and maybe a lil bit of trail modes so I can unlock colors.

I like colors, I wish capcom would release them as DLC so I dont gotta unlock them myself.

I dont like costumes tho. nah, fukk costumes.

sorry to anybody whose match request I ignored.

especially gigan... I'm fiending for Honda action.

I was in a heated session with sum dood from gaf/srk, GalacticAE. He kicked my ass so badly...

22-14 his favor.

all I used was Blanka, and all his characters jus coincidentally happened to be unfavorable matchups for me lol

Honestly Rolento, I think it's less about head games and more about putting yourself in a position to win. Make sure you always get the most damage you can in every situation (within reason, of course)

Punish Punish Punish, and don't put yourself in a situation to be punished! SF4 really is as simple as that.

 I'll blame Tekken for making me think mind games are important...

I do love mind games though in fighters... even though it's not the best idea, I basically fuck around with Dan by dashing in and out and randomly doing crushes and cancels/non-cancels. Most non-cags I fight get an initial 'WTF' type of reaction where I can tell they don't know what to do.

... in the end though I still loose

I probably enjoy mind games more than winning which works, again, in Tekken, but not here.

I'm not use to playing chess and always lost. SFIV is alot like chess.

You and me would get along just fine ... if we could fucking fight.

High level Tekken has no mind games :(

It's all about spacing and punishing at that point :(

:(

*backdashes away*

There's like one offensive Tekken player in my area. Everyone else is a turtle :)

GGS Jekki, fuck blanka. His wakeup ultra is too powerful, at least against my late night retardedness.

I hate playing him with ken since there's no way to get a decent punish in on his straight ball on a block, asides from one hit of an ex tatsu -_-

GGs heavy man.

it's kinda refreshing to do 30+ matches against real bad matchups to doing a round against favorable matchups.

with Ken u shoulda threw more fireballs. Blanka has the tools to get around them, but at longer distances he's fukked and has to struggle to cautiously escape

The mind games come in when you can factor in all that.

60-70% of my damage comes from wakeup games. Things like purposely doing an early overhead and blocking the reversal, crossups, poke strings into throws, poke strings into crossups, etc. I didn't even factor in Sakura's mixup.

But if you can't anti-air free jump-ins or know your max damage combos then there's no point in learning all that.

 I guess I can't blame Tekken then... I think it's just the way I play.

Makes sense since I'm the son of a Psychologist.

forgot to say but GGs Suko... that was probably the best ending to a match meet up (which I lost all but one... won a few rounds). D.K.O. FTW

I'm going to actually play SFIV today. I haven't touched it in a while. I wanted to the other day, but I forgot my 360 power brick cable at my friend's house. Getting that shit back later.

I did play some Tekken 5 DR in the last few days, beating on the AI. Too easy.

I saw that. I would've joined you but the lag pisses me off too much.

Lag sucks, most def. I haven't played my PS3 in a while, so I gave it some lovin' this week. Last time I did play Tekken 5 DR online, it wasn't too bad, still laggy but better than I remember.

Still, Tekken 6 BR fucking better be fucking better. :bomb:

Also, I love doing my simple little Anna combo that lasts longer than the replay.
So did we all book our rooms/tickets for EVO?
Everything is still up in the air for me. I wish I could say "fuck yeah!", but I can't yet. . .
So did we all book our rooms/tickets for EVO?
It may be out of the question for me now since I accrued some debt for school and got a pretty pissy tax return because I suck at signing those forms when you first get a job.

lol yeah! DKO's are always rare and exciting.

Man I could not freakin win with 'Sim today in SF4. It was sooo frustrating. The ridiculous amount of jumping in that game annoys the shit out of me.

spent like over an hour in training mode, my execution still sucks. I got no idea how I can be able to get my shyt down flawless.

trained on:

* j.mk crossup cr.mk st.lp blankaball

this is possible, and it's easier to do, plus does more damage, than crossup cr.lk cr.lk st.lp ball. But the hard part is getting the ball to come out, I gotta put myself into a mindset that seperates the first 2 hits from the 2nd two.

* hop XX Ultra.

pretty easy to do, the problem is that I doubt I can do it in clutch situations as it requires a lot of forethought... I think that's where I jus gotta start playing.

* focus attack, dash, cr.mk, Blanka Ball XX Super.

I hate this. The timing is real strict since u're trying to do a charge move after a FADC... u gotta dash then sit there for a split second before you do the cr.mk. Hit him too early, you dont get a ball. Hit too late, your opponent doesnt stay grounded. Plus the clutch factor comes in when you need to go back to a charge immediately after the dash cancel... that's why in matches I always jus throw after successful focus attack
anyone open to playing SF4?
Tell me how good MM is when you're done playing with him, I must know.
Furashu, I'll play, add me/send invite to MarkManSD (not MarkManSDT that is listed on the side here) on PSN.
okay right now sorry i was eating cuz no one replied .. lol

Aww, and I just sent a friend request... oh well... I'm still bored enough to play anyway. I'll just do challenge mode or something...

EDIT: Man, I need to play you guys, online sucks and so does the computer.

I'm thinking about attempting to main someone new when I get back into town. Not replacing my 2 mains but I guess adding someone new.

Those of you FGT guys who have played me know I'm pretty comfortable with Abel/Seth. Want to have someone to replace Seth in case I run into a tourney that bans him.

Maybe Sim? No idea who else. No Shotos :)

GGs to Furashu, sorry I sent that weird message after an early match... I meant to say 'brb changing to stick' but it came out all jumbled lol...

Is your PS3 hooked up via WiFi? I saw some lag spikes here and there... though maybe it was my house? There are like 2 PS3s and 360s online on SF4 right now as I type lol. That shouldn't affect it though...
