I'm doin' a little time for my DWI starting tomorrow, so I decided to spend my last free day at Arcade UFO. Played a little MvC2, SFIII, KoF XII (which I really did not enjoy), Tekken 6, and this awesome DJ Max they just got called Technika.

If you ever see a Technika machine, fucking play it. It's an awesome game, and the touchscreen controls are amazingly smooth. They even have the Profile Card available at the arcade, which is so hardcore it hurts.

Santa Cruz Boardwalk has that game. Played it the last time I was there.

The game is super fun but I felt like a complete stereotype playing it :)

Random question for the die-hards:

How do we feel about the MadCatz fight pads? With Tekken 6 not too far down the line, I need to be a good friend and get a decent controller for my P2, so they won't have to use the default 360 abomination. The fightpads seem like the obvious choice, since I'm not hardcore enough to buy a stick for them, but opinions seem ... mixed to say the least. Is there a general CAG consensus on these?

No idea how good the MC pads are still waiting on a deal for SFIV PC bundle. Though imo you should have at least two sticks for your consoles. Never know when one might mess up, saves you from having any down time from when parts are being shipped. If you play on nothing but pads then no idea.

I like them well enough. They're not quite up to 2nd gen Saturn pad quality but they're miles better than any other pad that has hit the US since, I dunno, 1996. They're passable in fighting games and have proven handy for stuff like Sonic's Sega Genesis Collection and various XBLA games. Don't pay more than retail and I think you'll be satisfied.

Stick works better w/T6 IMO.

I'm going to try picking up the retail version of MvC2 PS3 @ GS this week. Anyone else going Triple for that game?
Holy shit MarkMan. There are tears in my eyes and disgusting slobbery cookie spit all over my screen from laughing so hard at that audio clip. Bravo sir.

I guess SD Tekken isn't for Phrost.
U just hatin cuz Umad :shame:

I gotta show you guys the video of me glitching out the Tekken 4 machine here.. but alas I forgot my USB cable.

No.

I almost changed my mind on it, then the list of bugs dropped.

That AHVB glitch (in terms of blocking) is rather silly.

HeavyD,

Is there a bunch of stuff to do in Seattle?

If I can get the time off from my jobs, I might head up to PAX with a buddy of mine. Thing is I've never been to Seattle, so we both agreed if we were going we'd stay for a week. There is also a concert I want to go to on Sept 10th, so we'd need stuff to do from Sept 7th-10th.

I've only got Pike Place Market, Space Needle, the concert on the 10th and Scarecrow Video on my list so far :)

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I don't get the impression I'm gonna love the fight-pad, but I'm not so devoted to making my sparring partners comfortable that I'm going to invest in a second stick, so it'll have to do (though LostRoad does make a good point about having a back-up...).

EDIT: They had the Chun Li pad on Amazon for $31 until the moment I decided to buy it, naturally, but the Ken/Ryu pads are still in stock for $40, so it looks like I'm gonna grab one of them.

Oh shit! T6 comes with a hoodie? fuck yes! something I actually need

my black hoodie is about to die on me so a Tekken one would be great... it's prob in Large but a large hoodie is good.
I don't like the fightpads with T6, thats just me though.
I was actually surprised to see T6 players (or was it SCIV?) on d-pad... to be honest I think I'd play better on a Dual Shock 3 than a Fightpad in T6.

I've been out of the loop for a while so I have a couple questions about Tekken 6. I know some of these may be un-answerable but I'd appreciate any help from the FGT Iron Fist Gurus:

1. Will there be unlockable characters or is everyone selectable from the start? If there are then which characters?

2. How do you obtain customizable items? I'm guessing you buy them from a store using points you obtain in various modes.

3. Is there a perfered version yet? 360 or PS3?

4. Any word if you'll be able to create a lobby of more than 2 people in player matches? This killed SFIV for me.

2. I know you can unlock them in the new Tekken Force mode.

3. No.

4. There's lobbies as far as I know ... with more than 2 people. Nvm, lol

^ 1) all characters from the arcade will be unlocked at the start.

2) Through picking them up in scenario mode or buying them with G($) earned through various modes.

3) Both are good.

4) No info on online yet :x

1. All selectible, but I wouldnt be surprised if you can unlock the boss and nancy.

2. Same as Tekken 5. The "Scenario Mode/Tekken Force" will be the easy way to get stuff.

3. No pref version... some of us are getting it on all systems (like me, but 360 will be later for me)

4. Unknown but prob... MM might know
Yo Jim... I gotta play ur Ralf in VF5 sometime ;)

my favorite Ralf move is Splash Mountain.

well FGT, I'm off to So. Cal. for a week. I'm bringing my iTouch, so I'll try to post up a couple times when I'm there. No promises, though :)

MM, I'm gonna PM you my phone number. Hit me with a text or call and let me know if you're still down for playing some T6. I'm not totally sure what my transportation system is gonna be like (staying with a friend) but I should be able to work something out.

Thanks guys. Kinda sucks about unlocking characters. Since I don't have many friends to play with it's always nice to have more replay value for single player. But scenario mode looks awesome.

Personally, I'd rather not have to unlock characters for both versions. I think online and items give it enough replay value.
If I can get the time off from my jobs, I might head up to PAX with a buddy of mine.
nah fukk PAX, west coast warzone is where it's at!!

God this is depressing. My fightpad just died. It hasn't even been six months. I haven't even reached 200 hours on the pad yet! But Madkatz is sending me a new receiver free of charge. So at least I should be back in a few days.

PM me the details and I'll try to make it!

I need the name, location and time of the place.

hm

i'm tempted to go too
if i do i'll bring my brother and make him enter
then i'll sit in the back and play tetris
Yeah. I'm probably in the minority on that one.
Perhaps... But you're not alone.

Fighting games are like sex, better with (lady)friends, but still enjoyable by yourself.
yea, screw pax, id rather go to the west coast warzone pool party with 4 girls and 60 sf4 geeks.
don't kid yourself

there were 2 girls in that video!

and the one on the right was hot but she's keno's girl so then it's more like... 1 girl and 60 sf4 geeks!
West Coast Warzone sounds tight, but...

1) I've never been to PAX and it looks fun

2) I've never been to Seattle and it would be nice to get out of my town for a while. My traveling has been sporadic over the past couple years because I've worked at jobs that frown on taking long vacations. Now that I have the time to possibly travel (even within the U.S), I want to take advantage of it.

3) Hanging out with HeavyD!
4) and hanging out with MarkMan and B:L!
I'll know if I am going or not by this Friday (14th). I'll have to hit you up if I do for contacts so we can all meet up if only for a little bit.

phrost was it really? That blows.

Checking in from So Cal. Stuff is good here the weather is amazing. Played some Henry Hatsworth and Fire Emblem on the plane.
