Gamestop's been pretty aggressive with the trade-in deals so far this year- between this, the tier trade, the 20 dollars off and the get a new game for 20 dollars one.

I wonder if there's a good sale on used games coming at some point. More likely, it's going to be more of the buy this new game, get a used one for 25 percent off.
Trust me on this one. I wouldn't lie to you guys.
not that I think you're lying, but I imagine GS forgot the fine print or something.

Is it too much to hope for a match of that GS promo @Amazon? I have nothing vested in GS right now, and I'd prefer to keep it that way.

Damn, I have 5 days to pour like 30 hours into Dragon Age so I can play Heavy Rain on release. As much I would love to, I don't think even I can swing that.

I just played through the "$15" Stone Prisoner DLC. Re: its length:

Also I did Morrigan's personal quest last night. I think the choice given is really interesting. I'll be pretty disappointed if the repercussions aren't shown in this or a later game. Hope I made the right choice :hot:
My friend's friend is a GM on WoW and he has free SC2 invites to give.

:O lucky! I'd do unholy things for a SCII invite.

beat BS2 yesterday, meh. Now for Dante's Inferno

Jack is the worst anything ever.

I wish Mass Effect games had more party slots. Two allies is not enough, I wanna play with so many of them.

I think 3D Final Fantasy games set the standard for party members for combat with 3. I personally think it was a stupid decision.

The Resident Evil 5 Lost in Nightmares DLC add-on is pretty good I think. I definitely want RE1 in that style now. Limited ammo can stay or go, but I want that over-the-shoulder perspective.

I might grab Just Cause 2 from Amazon. The Gamestop DLC sounds pretty cool but Amazon is offering a $15 GC for the game. Still... I kinda of want the Hover Craft.

I kinda of want RE5 just for that DLC...

Fights would get a little... crowded. I'm having enough trouble finding cover points for three people that actually allow all of us to have clear shots.

I agree with the first comment. I hate Jack so much.
Found the episode of Jack (the ME2 voice actor) on an episode of iCarly. Haha, just so out of Jacks character makes me laugh.
OMG which episode!? I love iCarly!

Jack may have been a bitch... but she was a hell of alot better then Jacob. I wish that I could have put a bullet in his head...

iCook.

And I like Jack, she had an interesting backstory and I loved her loyalty mission. Awesome looking place.

The only character I do not like is Jacob. Even more the second time, he'd have to put his damn opinion on every person I bring in. Shut your big ass mouth! And I usually don't hate anyone in games. Except for inFamous... hated every character.

Thats the same exact reason I hate him. Oddly enough I love Tali even more because of him. I just love when she tells him off.

The new Alan Wake footage leads me to believe that I will really enjoy the game. Best looking game on 360 easily. 360 GOTY
Hyperbole! Hyperbole!

Nah seriously, looks great.

I skipped through every convo with Jack after I recruited her, including during her loyalty mission.

I like Jacob, but I liked Kaidan too. I always like the "normal guy" characters in media.

I REALLY wanted to bang Kelly.
We just had dinner? Weak!
I like Jacob, but I liked Kaidan too. I always like the "normal guy" characters in media.
He can be as "normal" as he wants. But go do it somewhere else..away from the person who is trying to save the galaxy. If I wanted to know what he thinks about something I'd ask him.

I'd rather have RE2 and 3 in that style than RE1. I've always thought RE2 and 3 were more action-oriented than the first game, and the over-the-shoulder stuff would work well.

I'm still debating about picking up the new RE5 gold-version (or whatever they're calling it now...) I never got RE5 at launch because of the bad reviews, and was waiting for a price drop when I heard about the new version and decided to wait for that instead. Will the gold edition have the DLC already on the disc?

Kaidan gets points for killing his teacher with the Force. I was hardly a huge fan of him, but hell, I've gotta have a bit of respect for the guy for that.
Thane pretty cool. I wish they had just come up with some more races and had less obvious stand-ins for missing ME1 characters.
Yep. I mean Samara was ok, but I'd much rather just had Liara--esp. since that was my romance from ME1.

Grunt I can see some what, as they wanted a Krogan in the party and many people didn't kepe Wrex alive in the first game. But that seems to me to be a better way to have consequence to your decisions. Killed Wrex? No Krogan in your party in ME2.

Of the new characters, I liked Thane and Asara ok story wise etc. Legion was good too, but you have him for so little of the game. Miranda was alright.

Zaeed was useless, Grunt and Jack sucked, and Jacob was just a "meh, who cares" kind of character.

I had Tali and Samara in my party most of the time with my soldier play through. With my adept play through I usually have Tali and Garrus or Mordin.

Samara. And she wasn't quite the same; Samara was a lot handier on the guns. Still preferred Liara, though.

In conclusion, Garrus is a badass motherfucker.

EDIT: Also, how did you have Liara in your party?

You love iCarly but you hate Miyazaki.... Oooooookaaaaay. :p

---

And whether you love or hate Grunt, anyone who chalks him up to "useless" is lacking a brain or the power to use it.

Generally, I ran with Grunt and Miranda, especially on Insanity. Thane would switch with Miranda depending on the mission.
I never once entered combat with Samara in my party.

lol iCarly, Rei's gonna be dissapointed when those girls finally get nudes leaked and they don't have cocks

I've been playing as a vanguard with Jacob and Garrus in my party mostly, sometimes swapping in Grunt or Thane (just got him).

Brain fart--along with making up Asara for Samara.

I meant Samara there. Usually went with her and Tali. As a solider it's good to have biotic and a tech specialist in your party.

Not sure on Insane, I only play on normal.

Is this your NeoGAF poster impression? I don't know why the game is called A. Wake, it looks like it would put me to sleep.

Got my tax return - made a few amazon purchases..

I'll give Bad Company 2 a shot with $20 bonus credit and Limited edition upgrade, and using $10 games credit..

Also got FFXIII on 360 and the limited guide for fun.

I was a soldier as well.

Grunt was a bullet sponge. If I had been smart enough to have squad warp ammo, he would have been unstoppable.

Miranda was key, because she has both Overload and Warp. If I had a good idea of what enemies would be on the mission, I would swap in Garrus or Thane. Occasionally Mordin. Samara/Jack/Jacob/Tali were useless to me. Legion I wanted to use because I liked him, but his abilities just weren't useful to me. :(

achievements and I play games more on 360. Just personal preference. If it turns out the 360 version is shit, i'll switch. But early impressions are that they're pretty equal.

I also picked up A copy of Earthbound (cart only) and the players guide for $80. That's pretty good with the guide, I think. I've wanted to own a copy of that game for a long time.

Decided to not go on spring break in lieu of using that time to catch up on/get ahead school. So I spent a smaller part of my refund on gaming stuff.

so far, I've got:
--$27.50 on Goozex GCs -- used on Burnout Paradise, DOA4 (again), and RE5
--1600pt card - used on the first RE5 DLC, saving the rest for PD XBLA, and the second RE5 DLC
--Tales of Vesperia (must beat this one of these days, even though it's the most animu thing ever)
--Mushihime Futari
--a HRAP-EX for mushihime, XBLA games, and maybe some fighting games. got this for $72.99, amazon warehouse!
--Guilty Gear 2 Overture

I might cancel that bad company 2 pre-order, but I might as well get in on the deals.

Also ordered gunvalkyrie, Panzer Dragoon Orta, and Otogi 2 for the xbox collection.

If I went out tomorrow and bought it, at this point, I would be strongly considering the PS3 version. One disc vs 3-4 disc... though I guess if it's like lost odyssey you could install the discs as needed (ME2 worked better if BOTH were installed).

swapping discs isn't a big deal because the game is so linear. It's just like the old PSOne games. I didn't mind then, and don't mind now. I'd rather have achievements. Trophies don't mean shit to me, but I love trying to get 1000 on a game I really like.
.....Tali were useless to me. Legion I wanted to use because I liked him, but his abilities just weren't useful to me. :(
Yeah, I will say the tech abilities weren't as useful. The attack drones are handy for distracting baddies, but only playing on Normal the combat is never a problem anyway.

In the first game you needed a tech so you had the skill in the party to open safes, crates etc. But they got rid of that aspect.

So I mainly just had Tali for nostalgia as her and Liara were my squad in the first game, and I didn't dig the new characters that much.

I actually completely agree on Jacob. I hated him from the second I saw him in the trailer because I knew he was going to be the boring guy. I hope he isn't in the squad in ME3.

Also, I share Rei's love for iCarly.
Is this your NeoGAF poster impression? I don't know why the game is called A. Wake, it looks like it would put me to sleep.
It wasn't supposed to be, but then turned into it.

It actually is my most anticipated 360 game of the year.
I'm not sold on enemies or fighting them in general, but the sense of mystery and adventure looks great to me.

(slightly higher resolution, slightly more 'objects', etc)
plus the obvious video and audio compression
The same differences that cause you to completely shit past PS3 games for.

I can see why people might think the numbers associated with Achievements are "more meaningful" than a Trophy, but they're both the same to me. I like getting them, but ultimately, they're just for giggles. In any case, I don't use them to make my purchasing decisions.

Preach it.

Played Yakuza 3 demo, all I have to say is
fuck you!!
Motherfucker!!
It's pretty sweet.

I just like fully unlocking that list of trophies/achievements, doesn't matter what system.
That stuff is marketing genius.

I've always loved unlocking stuff in games.

If it's a multiplatform game, I try to get the BETTER VERSION, plain and simple. How hard is that for some people to base their buying decisions on?
