HMMMM I wonder if there are treasure boxes in the little bulges that go off the main path???????
Anyone else make the transition from hardcore gamer to casual gamer over the last year? I don't play more than like 2 hours a week anymore.
I thought I would have by now...but I think I play more when I'm in school, since I don't feel like going out after studying all day and I usually only feel like partying one night on the weekends. Over break, my plan was to play all day, but I didn't feel like playing as much. aside from the week that I played Bayonetta all day every day.
The number its limited to is probably really high.

That was a joke. ;)
I realize the guide is worthless both monetarily and in usefulness.

It is a hilarious pic.

On the way home I'm picking up Cryostasis and the Penumbra collection since they're both $9.99 at GS now. First PC games I'll play when I get my "gaming" netbook.

Anyone play these? I know all about Cryostasis but not too much about the Penumbra games.

The Penumbra games are really good I thought but I only got to play the first out of the three. I hear the last is the worst of them all but for $10 you can't go wrong (got mine for $5 from a steam deal awhile back).

Got Heavy Rain today from amazon and trying to finish up Yakuza 2 as well which is really good. Started and finished Indigo Prophecy this past weekend which was really good until that last unfortunate hour which I heard so much about. x.x
Anyone play these? I know all about Cryostasis but not too much about the Penumbra games.
All I know is that Cryostasis is weird.
Did anyone elses steam friends list get wiped by the newest update? A lot of people seem to have it happen.
Mine did. I think.

Most of my "friends" were through the groups though, which didn't get wiped out.
Can't decide if I want to buy the FFXIII hardcover guide. I usually never buy guides, but this one seems pretty nice. Any of you planning to get it?
I'm getting it because Amazon has it for under $20.
Anyone else make the transition from hardcore gamer to casual gamer over the last year? I don't play more than like 2 hours a week anymore.
Nope. I actually play more now due to me not going out as much as I've gotten older. I come home from work, take care of the kids for a bit, spend some time with the wife, and at that point I don't want to do anything but sit on my ass. So the PS3 gets turned on, and that's my night.

Playing Heavy Rain now. Impressions later tonight.

Yeah, it's been the last couple of years for me. With being busy as hell finishing grad school, and even busier now with having finished last summer starting my career in August all my hobby time has gotten cut back. And gaming more than others since I enjoy things like movies, beer/social outings, tv, sports etc. more than gaming these days. Plus it's easier to find 90 minutes to watch a movie, than time to beat a 10-40 hour game etc.

I make time for some intense gaming sessions here and there though--like the week after picking up ME2 where I put shit off and dumped 40 hours into it in like 10 days.

But usually I probably average 2-5 hours of gaming a week throughout the year when I factor in all the weeks (and sometimes month or two) where I don't game at all etc. with binges like that when some game I love comes out.

I haven't really become any less of a hardcore gamer over the last year either. My day is pretty much a copy of what Rei listed minus the kids and adding school. Leaves me lots of game time.
If I could stay up all night, I'd play more, but I need to wake up.
Yeah. The only reason I can get some binge gaming in, is having an academic job I can play late and go in late as I don't have to be up early.

If I had to be in bed by 11 or midnight like a lot of my friends I'd never get any in. But now I can play pretty late and sleep in a little bit and still get all my work done the next day as I can go in late and work late. Rather than having to show up at 8 or 9am and be exhausted and unproductive.

Nope, I'm a bit of a loner so I rarely go out with friends(even more so now that I work overnights). And since I usually stay up all night, gaming is one of the few things available to me.

I put the vast majority of my games on my trade list, so check it out! A Wii is there as well, a PSP, and some other goodies.
I need money for University in the UK next year!

I started Heavy Rain and, I mean I thought it was going to be bad, but damn. I don't even know what to do already.
It's acting like it's downloading an update, but no QTE symbols come up. I'm confused

Heavy rain question:
Are there lots of checkpoints? I know its supposed to work out like a movie, so I don't want to start and then find out I can't stop for hours...

Nice list, Azumangaman! I may actually be interested in the Cromartie High dvds and some other stuff.

Deadly Premonition is one of the weirdest games I've ever played.
And I've played some weird shit.

Grandia on PSN this Thursday? What a pleasant surprise.

Chime is really fun. It is tetris and lumines' baby.

Yes, Bioshock 2 multiplayer is good. I like it a lot.

It saves at every important thing you do and at the end of each chapter, so you can quit after you see the saving icon.

No PS3 stuff? :(

2.0 from IGN, crazier than Killer 7...sounds like Deadly Premonition is a must-buy. Ignition games don't go rare, right? I may just wait for a cheaper price.

If a game says "Games for Windows" (but not LIVE) on the box (metro 2033), does that mean it has achievements?

Basically, does the PC version of Metro 2033 have achievements?

This probably will be. If they are only asking for $20 I can't imagine they think it will sell well.

Dallow: That usually seems to be the case.

What Uni are you going to in the UK dude ?

Locked in a $30 trade in at Amazon for Darksiders, so I need to finish it this weekend.

For a $20 game, the quality of the manual is better than EA's efforts.
60 pages (two languages) with good quality paper. B&W though.

Thanks Chibi. Guess I'll grab Metro on PC.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Picross 3D in May.
Metroid: Other M and Sin & Punishment 2 in June.

Wow!
Really surprised by Mario Galaxy coming out that soon! I haven't seen anything for it yet except for last E3's coverage.

Metroid: Other M is probably what I'm most interested in. Big fan of Team Ninja and that's probably going to be the thing that gets me to plug my Wii up again.

God damn Gamestop commercials...will you please end.

I finally tried out No More Heroes 2. I love that I no longer have to pay my way into the fights(Unless that was only a one time thing). I also enjoy Naomi's...upgrades.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Games_for_Windows_titles
A game only has achievements if its Games for Windows Live. That list above has all the games that have achievements.

Started playing Heavy Rain last night. 3 crashes in 15 mins. Loved what I played but i'm not going to play it more if it crashes every 5 mins.

I patched the game and played for 3 hours last night fine.. accidentally hit start on the install though and it skipped it and now I can't figure out how to install it now.. don't feel like redownloading the patch either as my connection sucks.

Had no idea you could skip the install... hmm.

Ordered a few of those limited to 1000 Bioshock 2 faceplates.
One sold already for $100 on ebay, buyer must have not known they were still for sale at msrp.

I think it was a risk free purchase.
