From the Darksiders promo? If so, they're not supposed to come for a month.... Still got a bit of waiting to do.

I'm actually reallllly dying to get my copy, too.
Aw man...
Lemme guess: you sided with Harrowmont?

The Deep Roads don't seem quite so overwhelming when you go with Bhelen.

They are, in reality, every bit as long; they're just broken up a bit better.
Nope, Bhelen. I think they are broken up pretty poorly. Circle Tower was the same problem, not enough adventuring breaking up dungeon after dungeon.

Really? Only place I thought was just too much was the Dalish forest. It just seemed like a bunch of half-done sidequests got cut and then mashed together to make a main quest.

Okay, now that they've killed the werewolves, they can go fight all the skeletons, and then a dragon for some reason...

From impressions, Deadly Premonition seems worth the $20.
Yeah it sounds like it's ok, I've got it pre-ordered from Amazon.

Probably wait till I've finished Darksiders before I give it a go.

I got Alone in the Dark on 360 from Gamefly a few summers ago and beat in a week. I actually had fun with it, despite the laughable story
I'm the fucking universe!
. At least you could skip the horrible driving levels.

Finally got connected to XBL again! Downloading the Cerebus Network stuff. Is Sega Racing All Star Kart Bullshit as awesome as it looks?

Deadly Premonition looks fucking sweet, but I still don't know what it is. A horror game? A sandboxy-town adventure game?

Played a little of Bioshock 2 last night. That drill is sweeet.

ME2. When is the point of no return? I
have Garrus, Mordin, Jacob, Miranda, Jack, Grunt, Tali, Thane, and I still have "Recruit the Justicer" and the iFF mission on my galaxy map.
what the hell is deadly premonition and why should i care?
All you need to know:

It's a huge Mario Kart ripoff.

That being said I'll buy it at some point. The demo was pretty fun.

No thanks on deadly premontion. Looks like I'd get bored of it. I'm really not much for the silent hill/survival horror type games. Even the old RE games are hard to go back to for me. Silent Hill on Wii is the only one I could stand.

The absolute point of no return is:
When you go through the omega relay, though that's not true, as you can do thing after the last mission if you live.

If you want a good chance of everyone living, get all your upgrades, the justicar, and do her loyalty mission before you get the IFF.

I decided to cancel Last Rebellion on PS3 (my preorder), despite the good price I was getting on it. I'll preorder Fragile on Wii instead.

I'm looking back at buying Mana Khemia 2 (PS2), Persona (PSP), and Persona 4 (PS2, although I hope for a PSP port).
I hope that the hostess club wasnt cut out of the US release of Yakuza 3
Why would that be cut out? It was in the prequels.

Isn't it possible that it's just not in the demo because it was a demo?

There's a few stores you can't go into in the demo, too, but you can (presumably) go in later when they're open.

Two things:

1. Places you can't enter because it's a demo actually say so. Such as the strip club saying "Come back for the full game!"

2. All trophies pertaining to the hostess club were removed from the US version.

If it is cut then I won't be picking the game up until I can find it used. Not going to give Sega money for a hack job.

Ah, so that's how they could afford to bring it to the US. If that's what they've gotta do to bring Yakuza here, so be it.

It would be pretty odd if they cut the hostess stuff but left a stripclub in the game. I wouldn't be shocked if SEGA wanted to release it as DLC(If they cut it).
Darksiders is fanatastic so far. Totally deserving of the praise it has gotten.
Definitely a pleasant surprise, since I had heard absolutely NOTHING about it, other than maybe Jer mentioning it as an aside at one point about coming out in early January. When it was about to release, I watched the promo trailer and decided to give it a shot. I was floored. :D

Whatever they're doing, they're not getting my money until they let us know.

Wow, I'm just surprised that they'd cut it at all since it was in the others. I was hoping that maybe it was just somewhere that the demo didn't give access to, but since the trophies aren't there they probably did cut it. :(

Maybe Chibi's right, though and it'll pop up as DLC.

I'm not really sure how the place factors into the game (I never played the other two) but if it came out as DLC, I'd probably get it.

I have no idea how important the hostess club is in the game. But I can't exactly give my money to SEGA knowing they cut stuff out of the game. Especially considering just how many games are coming out this month.
What baffles me the most is that the kind of people that would care about the cut content are the exact audience Yakuza 3 is going to sell to.
I'm just looking for a reason not to get Yakuza 3 right now. I've got far too many games that I want more coming out in March and a trip to Boston. And knowing that the pre-order DLC will eventually be available to download for everyone doesn't help.

Rei: Would Gamestop give me a problem trading in Street Fighter 4 with no barcode? I got the Collector Edition and for some reason they only had the barcode on the back of the Box it came in. If the trade-in deal you posted about is true I've got alot of stuff to get rid of...

Barcodes don't matter.

So if
I don't die on the final mission, I can continuing the game afterwards? If I lose any squaddies on the suicide mission (which I've heard can happen, don't spoil me on specifics), will they still be dead if I keep playing after beating it?

I'll pick that game up when it hits 20.00 in 6-8 months.

So you guys remember how my ME2 disk was making a rattling sound inside the xbox?

I installed it to the HDD, and when I'm playing the game, no noise.

It only happens when on the dash.

Weird, huh?

I get that when games are first put in the drive sometimes, on both 360 and PS3. But only on DVD stuff for ps3. Like when i would put the wire in, that fucker would make more noise than the 360 ever did for about 3-4 minutes, then quiet down when I actually went to the video menu and started the disc.

I think DVD drives are just that much faster that they make a lot of noise when spinning at max speed. For some reason discs seem to spin much faster when the system is first loading them.

After thinking about is some more and starting my second game, I think I like Bioshock 2 better than the first one.

The gameplay is no contest. It's much better in Bioshock 2. The place where the debate comes in is the story. Bioshock 1 had the far better antagonist in Andrew Ryan. Though I think Sophia Lamb was no slouch either. The main problem Sophia had is that in many ways she was basically just Ryan but on the opposite end of the political spectrum. So she didn't seem too unique. What did make her unique, and what I think makes me prefer this one to its prequel, is emotion. Bioshock 2 is a much more emotional game, and it really plays on this a lot.

Also the endings were really good. I actually think the "bad" endings are better than the "good" ones.

I think you Rei mentioned it before, but yeah, Yakuza 2 looks like absolute shit on PS3.

Would it look better with my PS2 and some component cables (which I'll need to buy), or should I buy a cheap CRT?

The back of the game box also lies about the progressive scan option! :nottalking:

I ran it through PS2/component and that was a lot better. I'd assume just using a cheap CRT if you have one is the best option.

Just finished Heavy Rain.

Game was awesome, I recommend it anyone/everyone looking for a good game that won't take up too much of your time.

Yup. I absolutely love bioshock 2. Maybe it's because of the lack of vita-chambers but I like playing the game more as a survival type of game. I should try the first with vita-chambers off.

I'm watching Halo Legends and I love it. Not very far in, but so far it's just gorgeous. I wish they'd do something like this for Metal Gear or DOA.

Edit:
Oh.My.God.

Halo Legends just has me jizzing myself over and over again. fucking Samurai Arbiter? Badass.

I'm going to take advantage of the Gamestop Trade-in deal. Getting rid of a lot of PSP games(If I ever want to play most of them again they are up on PSN) and a few console games.
I have some fears about the gaming industry... I have a feeling we are headed for an industry wide crash soon.
The worst that might happen is one of big will 3 drop out of the console market or more devlopers will close their doors. But a industry wide crash? Not going to happen unless someone does something really stupid.
