Canabalt (iPhone)
I'll say it and save the rest of the GGT the trouble, Cap'n Indie:

What was your non-iPhone game of the year? (I'm trying to limit the question only enough to get an answer that might be something several people in the GGT played... y'know, 360/PS3/PC/Wii or even DS/PSP...)
After *just* missing out on the xp to get the trophy for max out, I'm contemplating using one of those harpy glitches for it. I inadvertently did one when I was getting the thunderbolt arrow magic, but it didn't go for long enough and I was *just* shy... like 400 orbs, maybe.

I don't know that I can handle challenge of the gods... I did manage to do challenge of the titans, but the gods challenges are a pain in the nuts... i couldn't get by 2/10.
I'm in the same boat as you for the max out trophy, I was only a paltry 700 orbs away from getting it. What's the Harpy glitch?

The Challenge of the Gods aren't really that difficult except for level 8. Level 8 was programmed by fucking dog rapists. It took me an hour and a half to just beat that level. For level 8 I'd suggest playing defensively and dodge roll through the legion of undead every time a Medusa gaze starts, then after it ends roll+X, L1+O and you should clear the playing field a little bit every time. Level 10 is actually pretty easy, too, even though it seems like a daunting task. Just keep jumping in the air and spamming R1+X (I think) and if you get thrown to the outer parts of the platform dash or roll to the center.

It involves getting a dying harpy stuck on something so it bleeds red orbs infinitely.

There's a better spot in the temple on the way to the Oracle when you use the statues to block the harpy holes.

Thank you! I'll probably go back and do that so I can get the trophy. I don't really care if it's glitching.. I just want to get my first platinum out of the way so my friends will stop bugging me.
Congrads? :whistle2:s
;) :grouphug:

Shelf? ;)

Opps...sorry! It's kinda hard to think and type with a 2 year old grandson on my lap :D
By the time you're done with those, it'll almost be NEXT year. ;) Seriously, prepare to be sucked in by Fallout.
I think you're right....I plan to fully enjoy those games! :bouncy:

Hey Cap'nJoel -- thanks for motivating me, I attempted and finished the Challenge of the Gods tonight... another game that I can now platinum someday, since I'm only missing those last two trophies for another run.

Getting the platinum for GoW2 was easier.

I'm trying to think of which games I actually have it for, or am really close...

Have: Uncharted, Uncharted 2, Tekken 6, God of War II, Infamous
Close (missing 2 or less): Modern Warfare 2, Dead Space, God of War

Glad I could help, Frost! I'm proud of you for finishing it. Whenever you try out all the costumes you should tell me which one you like the most. I personally prefer the Chef of War's costume, but for the way I play Dairy Bastard works the best.

And as for GoW2's trophy, I'm sure it'll be easier, I just don't really feel like trying to go back into it because there feels like I have more to master in that game. I've finished the first GoW about 6 times now on multiple settings and unlocked everything, but I've only played through GoW2 2 or 3 times and I can never find all the Urns or get a maxed out magic/health meter. I may have to read through some strat guides to really get the most out of the second game.

You beat Challenge of the Gods, right? That's how you get the Dairy Bastard costume. I really didn't like that. It's pretty straining, especially the last Challenge which took me over an hour to do. That one's really a luck of the dice.

You know, I really don't get why people love with Fallout 3. If it weren't for VATS, the game wouldn't be playable because you can't aim worth at all. Also, Map Markers don't seem to be coming up when they should do (Metro Central, for example).

That's pretty easy honestly when thinking retail releases:

Street Fighter IV

As little as I play it, its something that will not lose its luster 10 years from now.

But yeah, I can def see easily that Batman AA is the GotY for most. Superb work rocksteady.

Won't Super Street Fighter IV make it lose its' luster?

You're right... because it's essentially Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo. And it's like 10+ years since that came out... and people love it. ;)

Just like calling a game in the same genre the same game. I've been playing Call of Duty ever since Wolfenstein 3D released then ;)

Oh, sure you have.

Considering that like 80% of the fighters in SF4 are the same as SSF2T and that the move sets are nearly identical, the only difference is the [in my opinion] horrible art style, adding 6 new characters, and putting in ultras/focus attacks.

I need to start looking at Call of Duty more closely -- I don't see the armor or the health packs... And I don't remember all these different game modes in Wolfenstein 3D, but then again, it's probably cause I'm senile. ;)

No it's not. SF4 is basically the same game. BlazBlue on the otherhand is completely different even though they're the same genre. So no it's not the same.

And yeah, the art style in SF4 alone is enough to make me never want to play that game again.

Both got bullets just like both got fighting.

Don't worry, just give it a bit and loosen up ;)

is defense mode on right now?

I feel like less of a gamer for not noticing that all the SF games have been so similar like all of you. I've played most of them, I just never really noticed that they weren't that different.

Cryptic obviously doesn't want me playing Star Trek Online, so why do I keep trying to login? I must be a glutton for punishment...

Well if it makes you feel any better, I am able to sign into it.

Nah, man, I just like stirring the pot. ;)

Anyone else have Borderlands sitting on their backlog, and want to start it with me tonight? I don't really want to start out w/ higher level people.

For :360:, of course.

I just sold my copy of Borderlands, so I'm out I'm afraid. I didn't play it since before MW2 came out, and I wasn't really anxious to go back to it.
Damn it.

My PS3 froze up and corrupted my Ratchet&Clank:ACIT save.

:wall:
That sucks. Set Insomniac on fire. And make sure it spreads to Naughty Dog.
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang.

Might as well give it to Frosty.
Maybe, maybe not. I don't want it giving AIDS to my PS3.

---

Dairy Bastard on the ladder, gettin dem orbs. :D
If I max everything out now, I wonder if I'd have enough orbs to get Hades Army maxed by the end....
I don't have the desire to play it again.

I think I'll just trade it towards Borderlands or get Modern Warfare for the 360
How far were you when it got corrupted? I blasted through it pretty quickly last week.

I think I may take advantage of the GS trade in deal and trade in MW2 for either Bayonetta or Dragon Age. I can't really decide which, though.
That's what I'm leaning more towards... Mostly because of the Blood Dragon armor, though.

I WANT THAT ARMOR SO INCREDIBLY BAD.
God luck finding a Collector's Edition of Dragon Age.
God luck finding a Collector's Edition of Dragon Age.
My GS had two copies when I was in there today, but I thought that the Blood Dragon armor was in all new copies? If it's only in the Collector's edition then eff it. I don't care enough about it to just buy a whole CE around it. I mean, I care about the game, but I think I can wait till it drops in price. I was just going to trade MW2 in now and get the game new so I could get the armor for ME2.
It is in all copies I got it in my normal copy, so you're good.
I thought it was just in the Collector's Edition? I guess they thew it in the normal version then.
I thought it was just in the Collector's Edition? I guess they thew it in the normal version then.
There were a ring and necklace that were exclusive to the CE. Blood Dragon was in all new copies of Dragon Age.

Thanks for the info guys! I'll probably trade stuff in and pick it up on Wednesday.

Edit: So, I couldn't really wait to go and get it so I just went and came back, took me like ten minutes and they wouldn't let me trade it the way I wanted to. Sadness. So I probably won't be getting DA:O/Bayonetta after all. Too bad, I was really wanting the Blood Dragon armor.

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes seems to be fairly hard to find around here with most stores not having anything at the moment, so I will have to travel a bit to find a GS with a copy of that game.
