No way. There's way more jaggies, clipping, and slow down in Killzone 2 than there is in Tetris.
yeah and Tetris runs at 60fps.
Can't wait for Devil Summoner 2 to come out. I'm one of the few that loved the first one.
yo, havent see you in here in awhile!

yea i cant wait too!!

All this talk about 3s made me go play it, and you guys are right, it's awesome. Really like the art stye. Couldn't even figure out how to do a single parry though.

I've been super busy since the end of the summer. I finished college in December and have been working a shitload of hours since the end of the year. Plus, the wife and I just found out we are having our third baby since 2005. Things are starting to calm down now though. You hear any good metal albums lately?

Instead of holding back to block, you have to move the stick forwards into the attack just before it hits. Wild! :whee:
I guess it depends on your character too - I play Chun in ST, and she feels so different in 3S, and I'm not sure how she's going to be in SF4. It could completely change the game.
Ken, usually.
Focus attacks are more strategic than parrying, since you actually eat the damage for a short amount of time ( you recover it unless you get hit during the recovery, I think).

And, barring Dan, they're the only way to link Ultra's in a safe manner. (IE: FA stun, or FADC out of a launch)
Speak engrish! I don't understand what you're saying... you mean to link a normal or super move into an ultra? :whistle2:s

No he means focus attacks stun on hit and allow you to go into an ultra. Or dash cancel out of a focus attack into ultra?

Focus attacks seem like slow to start high priority attacks that allow you to eat one hit that's regenerative during windup. But if you time it right, you eat that first hit, but then the focus comes out during the opponent's vulnerable frames, and they get countered with whatever you can go into from a focus attack.

From Wiki:

Focus Attacks
Focus Attacks, known as "Saving System" in the Japanese version, is a new system that is being introduced in Street Fighter IV. The focus attack is a move that allows the player to absorb an attack and launch a counter attack, and it is performed by pressing the medium punch and kick buttons simultaneously. There are two phases to the attack. In the first phase, the player will shift into a new stance, at which point he is able to absorb one attack from the opponent. The second phase is the counter attack. The longer the player holds down the medium punch and kick buttons the more powerful the attack will be. If the buttons are held for long enough the attack will cause the opponent to crumple slowly to the ground, allowing the player to follow up with a free hit. If the buttons are held for longer still the focus attack will become unblockable. Attacks that were absorbed during the first phase of the focus attack still cause damage to the player; however, life lost from the opponent's attack will be gained back afterward. In addition, during the first phase of the focus attack the player may perform a dash either forward or backward to cancel the focus attack. Finally, at the cost of half the super combo gauge, many special moves can be canceled into a focus attack. By executing a focus attack during the special move, the animation of the move will be cut short and go instantly into the focus attack animation. This allows players with precise timing to cancel special moves into focus attacks, and in turn cancel focus attacks into the forward dash, resulting in new combo possibilities. If a special move is blocked by the opponent, the new system allows players to cancel the blocked move with a focus attack, and then cancel the focus attack by dashing backward safely away from the opponent.
Ono has stated that this system was incorporated in order to shift the emphasis away from combos and toward a more realistic system he has compared to boxing, in which "the skill is in reading your opponent's move before he starts moving ... We haven't forgotten about combos and linked moves, but focus makes it so that you have to read your opponent." The system aims to make ground attacks as viable a way of approaching opponents as jumping was in previous games. The focus system is a core part of Street Fighter IV's gameplay.

Ultra Combos
In addition to powered up versions of special moves introduced in previous Street Fighter games such as Super Combos and EX Special Moves, the game also introduces a new type of powered-up special move officially dubbed the Ultra Combo. Ultra Combos are long and cinematic moves featuring a lengthy combination of punches, kicks and other moves. Just as there is a Super Combo gauge, there is also an Ultra Combo gauge (officially known as the "Revenge Gauge"), but whereas the Super gauge fills as the player hits an opponent, the Revenge Gauge fills when one takes damage from the opponent. Along with the Super Combos, Ultra Combos are one of the only times the camera breaks from its normal fixed position to show a more dynamic, cinematic view of the gameplay.
I may have asked you this already dandes, but where did you go to college? LVC?
Nah, I went to good ol' HACC. I'm enrolled at Penn St HBG now.

ah congrats! Unfortunately no...the lastest album i heard was Cattle Decapitation' s new cd "The Harvest Floor"..but eck, not rly enjoyable...How about you?

man, its fun beening a girl on HOME...i just went on for 5min and i got 12 friend requests XD
Is there any doubt? :whistle2:s
not in my mind.

I can't believe GH continually outsells it though. actually, I guess that's entirely believable. but every chance I get, I'm like "No, get Rock Band, it's made by the people who made Guitar Hero and it's a better game!" and they're like "yeah, but the Guitar Heroes comes with a drumset and microphone."

I gutted through Web of Shadows, but I didn't have the heart to play through it a second time to see the good ending. Halfway through my first playthrough, the game became a chore.
Chapter 4 of Dead Space. Game really is solid.

Web or Shadows....the Tech Mech boss battle at the courthouse kiles it for me.
I'm glad you've seen the light regarding DS.
I think you're wrong, but it's okay to disagree.

Focus attacks seem to be a sort of easier to do parry that will allow you to absorb a hit and hopefully time the focus attack just right to counterattack after absorbing an attack? I haven't played it but it seems like the superarmor in the vs. series, except useable when you want and you take damage, but it heals after time?

I'm pretty sure focus canceling is key to the game's system and how the best players will play.

I just think it's a bit foolish to dismiss SF4 before any of us have probably played it in depth, and just because the characters have goofy faces for 3-5 seconds during the end of a match.
I'm not dismissing the game, I'm just saying I think it's a lot of hype and I don't really have any interest in the game. I've put a stupidly ridiculous amount of hours into 3S over the last couple of months, that I'm still contently playing that. I'm sure I'll play SFIV over at a friends house or something, but I was just expressing my opinions on it.

Milk I heard was a well shot movie where the story kinda got lost. I can easily see that.

now saying that, I'd rather be gaming that watching a movie.

also, Nobi Nobi boy will rock superbly no matter how many people don't like it.
Milk was phenomenal.
My 2nd favourite movie this year. Wall E is 1st, Milk 2nd, Dark Knight 3rd.
Good times.
Seeing Slumdog Millionare tomorrow!
Milk was great. This weekend I caught, Milk, Gran Torino and Slumdog Millionaire, all were excellent. Plan on catching Frost/Nixon sometime this week, and hopefully Benjamin Button this weekend.
now saying that, I'd rather be gaming that watching a movie.

Not I. I like gaming, but I love movies. That said, I'm gonig to play some more The World Ends With You before going to sleep.

I don't like the Fear 2 demo. It's less scary than confusing. Plus the pew pew feels a little too floaty for me out of the box.
Not I. I like gaming, but I love movies. That said, I'm gonig to play some more The World Ends With You before going to sleep.
yeah, I know it's a rarity but I really would rather play a shitty game than watch a great movie.

I think it's largely because I always have to keep my hands busy, thus movies bore me very easily unless I'm doing something with my hands while watching them.
Seems like something that would be on Tim and Eric. (Second season DVD in 2 weeks, yeaaaaah! you got shot in the balls!)
Yeah, I was immediately thinking Tim and Eric, but I couldn't remember which episode it was from. I'd forgotten all about Card Crusher. Season 2's out soon, though? I should pick that and season 1 (which I still don't have) up in one shot... such a good show. Season 3 slid in quality a bit for me, but season 2 is gold.
Beats those crappy CD-I games any day.
I was just thinking how it's amazing that a small indie studio could pump this out, yet CD-I got 3 large piles of shit.

I wonder if there's a way to port that game to PSP or DS??
