I imagine you can get to day 5 within a few hours. If it doesnt start clicking by then, I dont think its going to. Maybe through the end of day 7 just to be sure.
Sounds reasonable. I'm saved in the middle of day 3 now. I'll put in some more time since I'm still liking it ok, just not loving it.

How long is it to beat the game? I'm liking it enough that I could get through it if it's say 10-12 hours. But if it's much longer than that then it would have to start clicking more for me if I'm going to play through it all.

Edit: Nevermind, checked the sticky "How long does it take to beat this game?" thread and it lists it at 21 hours. So, yeah, I'll definitely have to start digging it a lot more if I'm going to put that much time in.

The only thing I didnt like about it is Nomura's "belts and zippers" school of character design. God I hate that guy.
they don't really have belts and zippers in TWEWY, that's more of a Final Fantasy thing. if anything, the fashion in TWEWY is more influenced by stuff like the designs found in the book Fruits (which is just pics of crazy teen fashion in Japan)...and the fashion in that book is actually more wild than that in the game.

anybody played the Penny Arcade game? Pretty steep at $20, but I like their comics and the gameplay seems good. It's like 6 hours long, right?
It's never been confirmed but I'm still hoping. It's not like it's going to go anywhere.
true. the PC/Mac and PS3 versions are all $15...damn xbla.

Slumdog Millionare was also great.

Milk is my favourite so far. I can't imagine Frost/Nixon beating it though. The Reader doesn't look very good.
I should be seeing both very soon though :)

I've really started to like the PA games.
Slow to get into them, but much more fun once you're a few hours in. Battles get kind of hectic when your watching for times to block and wait for special attacks.

Yeah, I thought XBL dropped to match the PSN/PC prices?
I have both games. Haven't beaten the first one yet (almost), but went ahead and got the second one to start on it.
I like that I keep my character.
Overall it was no HUGE thing because multiplayer is the focus of CoD, for me anyway, but it would make the single player significantly better. Plus, I know its getting knit picky, but I also hate how its very obvious in CoD4 (and definitely in Resistance 2) that you hit spawn triggers. Its just very jarring and not natural or organic feeling in those two games.
Pretty much.
95% of my time with CoD4 was in MP, but I did play it SP first as I usually do.
It was nice, I liked the presentation and flow. The spawn triggers were my only problem with it.

I love how the second game starts out too. He just can't catch a break.

I finally got a copy!

Actually, a buddy in Florida picked it up for me. There were 3 in his state, and none in the Texas/OK area. (1 actually turned up 45 mins away from me a couple days ago but no case...)

Been wanting this game for a while now. Rarest Wii game, possibly?
What, guin? LOL
Guys, L4D or WaW?

L4D only if you play with friends.
I'm picking that up this week (since two of my real life friends are as well).

Yeah I think I'll trade in CoD4 and No More Heroes for WaW
Dallow has L4D right -- game gets old quick, unless you enjoy it and play it with your friends.

WaW has a decent single player campaign as long as you don't play on "grenade rain". Multiplayer, most people seem to like CoD4 better from what I gather, myself included.

Grr...

A pet peeve of mine is when people mention The Simpsons and X-Men games as like the Holy Grail of beat 'em ups.

There are so many better ones out there, like any Capcom beat 'em up from the 90's (both D&D games, Alien vs. Predator, etc.), the SNES and Genesis TMNT games, and Guardian Heroes.

While I agree with you that the quality of the DD&D games etc is better, the Simpson and X-men licenses combined with the nostalgia most of us have of playing them in an arcade of some kind makes them seem better.

Yeah, I know.

It's like how people think the Smash Bros. series is good, but they actually only like it for the ol' Nintendo fan service.

Hell yeah, especially Guardian Heroes. I love that game. And Capcom beat 'em ups too.

The D&D games were quality. Especially the fact that you could somehow "save" a character and keep leveling them up... that was AWESOME.

In some ways, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance is a sort of successor to those... And they were fun as hell too.

Played Project Justice with some friends today. That game is still so awesome. Why has Capcom not made another game in that series? I'd take that over SF4 any day of the week.

Wasn't Project Justice on the Dreamcast?

I still say Capcom should release a collection of their DC era fighting games. *HINT* *HINT*;););)

I've asked myself this so many times. PJ is so good. Make a new one, Capcom!! :bomb:

Bah, Kotaku ripped off ReRo's post on Legend of Princess. Go find your own news, ya lazy bums! Or at least give out a free game schwag or something. :p

Yeah, it was on the DC. We busted it out to play some fighting games.
AvP is probably the finest beat 'em up ever made. Shadow of (over?) Mystera was really good to.
"eet's not too bad"
(is that what the thief chick says?)

Don't forget the Punisher. That game is pretty wild.

anyway, I agree Zew, those aren't the best and if they came out on XBLA, I'd probably try the demo and instantly lose the nostalgia (well, Xmen would be worth the purchase for even just one 6 player throwdown.) The talk of Time Traveller just made me think of those instantly, since they were all the arcade.

Guardian Heroes XBLA would be hotness.

My friend and I always talk about this, and how sweet it would be. We played so much GH in high school. It was so awesome. :)

Ugh, I wanted to put a bullet in my skull after watching 2 minutes of that show.

You can substitute "that show" for "TV in general."

are you finished translating it to English yet?

Is the last issue of EGM out? I haven't received an issue of EGM in like a month and a half, and had till like October on my subscription.

The Punisher was hotness. I was a comic-geek so I thought being Nick Fury was like the coolest thing since sliced bread. Speaking of beat 'em ups, I always liked King of Dragons even though it was fairly simple (and more of just an action game then a beat 'em up.) I played through it again recently and it still holds up. I think I can beat that game on 2 credits.

I remember, in my youth, trading Guardian Heroes in to Gamestop (along with my other Saturn stuff) in order to get a Playstation. Sad, sad, sad memories.... I had like every good Saturn game :(

man, you make me feel good with that post. King of Dragons was so simple but a fricking blast to play. way better than most brawlers to be honest. Also, The Punisher is what Final Fight should have been even though they both run on the same engine. Even if I didn't love the character already the game would and still holds up.

Checked out the RE5 demo. It's ok, but not much different from RE4 other than having a partner. I didn't finish either demo. Got tired of trying to survive until the helicopter in Assembly and played Shanty Town once and quit when the AI partner got chainsawed.

Not bad, but I'll only play it if my friend (and soon to be roommate) picks it up and wants to play co-op as that could be fun. Otherwise I don't have the patience for the controls and difficulty. RE4 was a torture for me, but I slogged through it since I only had a Wii at the time (though I played the GC version) and was dying for games to play.
