I bought it.
Yeah I couldn't resist either. I knew the game was good, but those Giant Bomb videos really shined some light on how good the game is. I probably wouldn't of picked up the game for a while though; maybe not at all.

However, that Amazon deal was just too good. I had to buy it.
Wow. Lost Planet 2 looks sick as hell.
+1

Co-op play! I passed over the first game, but I'm excited for this one!
sold half a million at the original price. oh well!
Hopefully you haven't bought it yet so you can save 400 points. For 400 points I'd consider it... but 800 is still more than I'd be willing to pay.
Go back and play fiddy.
Yup.

You didn't like SFIV? I thought it was pretty awesome.

I tried most of the characters and Abel is by far my favorite so far.

It's not a question of if he likes SFIV or not. He just knows that fiddy is GOTY 2009. :)

And unless you have an unlock cheat code, there's still possibly 9 fighters you probably haven't tried.
Nothing to be embarrassed about.

GOTY 2008.
I wasn't so much embarrassed about the game as my lack of control. I have so many good games sitting here waiting to be played and I have KZ2 coming in on Friday. I shouldn't be buying more.

Haven't seen anything about it yet but I loved the OG Lost Planet. It was way underrated. Especially the multiplayer. Bionic arm, mechs, exploding frisbees! What more could a person want?
Did you guys know that all of capcoms next gen games are built off the Onimusha 3 engine?
I enjoyed the first Onimusha game until I got to that boss on the roof top. The roof had different static camera angles depending on where you moved to and I got vertigo or something from stepping into new views and the control directions changing on me.

I am exchanging my broken ps3 laser, I hope this time the seller does give me on that actual works for more than 5 fucking minutes! I hope I can still be up and running this week.

Lost Planet 2 looks like RE5, except it's a series I actually care about and would play. Looks so different from LP1... amazing what a simple camera angle change does.... don't know if I like.

The graphics appear a little better, but it seems basically the same to me overall. Could be the environments, though--maybe the first one snowblinded you? :)
Yakuza 2 $15?

daaaaaaaaaaaaang.
Amazon? If so everyone should check it out at that price.

I don't see it.
Isn't it Dr. Vermin?
Quiet, you!
Is there a problem?
Yes, I don't understand. Granted I didn't play the game, but care to explain?
I was hoping for $10.

Is it worth $15?
Its worth 50

Also, I really dug the lost planet 2 trailer. Looks like some epic coop is going to happen, hopefully is will be as fun with cags as gears 2 was.

damn, I think I posted something about not getting anymore retail games until I finish GTAIV. Well, landed SCIV today for $14.99 at Target, and ended up snagging Persona 4, Yakuza 2, and Chrono Cross from amazon. Considering price matching Left 4 Dead at Sears to get it for about $37.99, but it'll probably be cheaper by the time I get around to playing it.

I'm hesitant about Lost Planet 2. Loved the demo for LP 1, then didn't like the game. Then I got Colonies and really loved it for a few days, then just stopped caring to play any more of it.

I bit on SFIV CE PS3 from GS. If it weren't for an e-rewards GC I had, I prolly wouldn't have.

Worst comes to worst I will sell it later.

So yakuza 2 is the only 100% claimed deal from the gold box? Cool.

Too bad that alone won't give us Ryu Ga Gotoku 3 in the US, but I guess it's still remotely possible.

At least it shows interest in Yakuza exists. I was even tempted to get it just because I felt it'd be worth it at that price.

it was worth it for the debut price of $30, it is worth it for the current $19.99 MSRP.

IMO

After playing the Yakuza 3 demo I went ahead and grabbed Yakuza 1 off of Ebay for 11 dollars.

Does the North American version have Japanese voices or does it only have the English voices?

I tried Yakuza before and didn't care too much for it. So it has to be dirt cheap for me to consider it.

Yakuza 2 is definitely an improvement over the first one.

#1 has English voices, #2 Japanese.

Even if it is, I hear the game's very story driven. If it's anything like MGS then I don't think I want to jump in on the second one.

Characters created bland and soulless in the hopes that it will help the player identify with them.

Did you get Yakuza Zew? Surprised you haven't played those games.

I bought SFIV on the way home, couldn't resist.
Dang, I love it. Sakura is so cute.
Played two online matches and won, would have won a third with another guy but he quit after losing the first round. :|

Trophies/achievements look hard as hell.
I did the Ryu/Ken trials, and that's about it, other than unlocking Sakura.

Lost Planet 2, wow, looks so good.
Exclusive or not, I don't care, I want those graphics on my TV.

Some of them are hard (pretty much all the Challenge Mode-related trophies), but the other trophies came pretty quickly. I got the 1000 medals trophy after 4 days of playing, and the 200 games soon afterwards.

Yeah, I bought Yakuza.

I haven't played them because so many GGTers recommend it. ;)

Yeah, but there's a lot of mini-games and diversions (bar girls!), too. You don't have to plow through the story if you don't want to.

I kind of like the little street fights you can do to help level up.

Er, these characters were designed for the player to "create" the identity. Granted, there's limits, but at least in Fallout 3, your actions can affect how others interact with you, and actually impact some elements of the story.
