I don't know how someone could dislike SotN but the DS ones are a little bit different so they might be worth a shot.

As for that boss, it sucked because it took so long so I had plenty of time to screw it up. As for the end of the battle,
my first time to the top I didn't realize I could go up so I kept fighting it wondering just how much HP it had :D
.
Me too. I had 1 HP left. No healing items. Scary shit when I realized what I had to do while dodging the bubbles...

What the fuck, you can't use a hotmail account for neo gaf?!

Good thing I still have an sbcglobal email since my ISP is Yahoo.

I registered as ChocolotePuma.

Rei, that was a joke.
That said, if I came across a wii for that price, I would buy it without hesitation.
they have to approve you... takes forever... been a few months or near half a year already.
I was approved like a month ago. Took like 4 days...
they have to approve you... takes forever... been a few months or near half a year already.
Takes like a year. I've been waiting for at least 6 months.
Wait, do you still have a 360?

And seeing as how a 16 gig can be had for a little over 220, I wouldn't say that's a great deal.

But shit, I'll buy that Wii for 150!
Yeah the elite was an extra one. Show me where I can get a 16 gig for 220.. they're $300 retail and about $280 on amazon marketplace. Either way amazon doesn't let me sell the elite because it's too popular, and using the non-official listing they sell for around $260 with $50 taken off commission and a meager $4 shipping credit.

I was asking for $300 on craigslist, but a $260 device and $50 was good too. I sold the Wii for $250 cash, which was low too. All in all, I got about $350 cash and a 16GB ipod touch for my PS3 80GB + MGS4. Plus no fees or shipping.

ah well the thing about ebay is I had a string of thieves do chargebacks on my account a few years back for a few hundred dollars worth of items I shipped out to them and they decided they weren't going to pay for, 6-9 months later.

Paypal didn't believe me that I sent the items out, even with DC numbers, and I'm pretty much banned from paypal because people stole from me and I had an outstanding negative balance that I refused to pay.

Ebay is AWESOME.

it's pretty good so far. I downloaded this 99 cent motorbike game that is pretty cool. I need to hook it up to my computer yet.

Anyone else get in a Resistance 2 game yet? I tried, I get connection time outs on joining ones I select, and the "searching for ranked game" goes on endlessly. I'm going to blame my crappy router, that likes to disconnect me every 20 minutes, but I'd think I could at least connect despite that... I have no problem downloading and such.

I'm still waiting for it to finish downloading.

I'm pretty excited to play it though, probably my most anticipated game this year aside from one other I won't mention.

Having Pandora on an iPod is AWESOME.

I want to start Dragon Quest 8, but I'm not going to kid myself into thinking i'm going to really play it with fallout in a few days..

Maximo was a great game.
Dude, you spent $50 on P3... You LOST $40...

I thought engineers were GOOD at math...

BTW Terry, that's crack/methhead math...

'How much can this get me right now...'

No matter how you try to spin it, you got RIPPED THE fuck OFF!!
So, I bought PGR on Xbox for $50 new at launch and traded it in to GameStop for $0.14. Now that's a big loss. I honestly don't care, because I make money and lose money on games (I made money on trading Brawl in at GameStop, when I only paid $26 for it on Amazon. Please understand this wasn't intentional, because I had Brawl for a few months and played it a few times. Since I wanted new games, didn't play it much, I decided to trade it in with Sega Rally Revo). For the most part, unless a game is next gen, I want it out of my possession. I just don't care much right now about older gaming, since I'm sucked into online + HDTVs (which is why I play PS3 and 360 the most).
I downloaded the R2 Beta in like 40 minutes. It was blazing fast for once.
On my end, it started out slow. Once I restarted the download (paused and restarted, so I'd hopefully connect to another server), it was crazy fast. I mean, I went from 52% to 100% in less than 10 minutes (no joke).

Anyway, I played some Wipeout HD online and downloaded the R2 beta. Tomorrow morning I'll hopefully play (or afternoon). I shouldn't have problems connecting since I've configured my router well for PSN (opened all ports and stuff, explains why my download speeds are pretty good).
Maximo busted my balls.
I dunno why everyone was all "maximo is gangsta hard". Shit wasn't anywhere near the insanity of the old school ghouls n' ghosts or ghosts n' goblins.

Jellycar was actually a fun game.

Hearing that lbpbpbpbppblbllbllbbblblb tongue + lips + blowing noise as the throttle was half the fun though.

Must be what it's like to be a crazy person.

True, that shit was diamond hard. I think, as a kid, I had a higher tolerance for bullshit and cheap shots.

Fantasia on Genesis though. . . :bomb:

yeah, I share the same confusion... was pretty damn easy to be honest.

Some of the platforming was a bit wonky in places, but I think the main part of it was these whippersnappers with their regenerating health and infinite continues don't know what old-school games were like.

It's hard, but not frustratingly so. I just wish there were more saving opportunities and the grim reaper wasn't so stingy about continues.. lol.
The platforming and riding the logs while dealing with alligators did me in. X_X

The hardest games I'll play now are DMC and Ninja Gaiden.
In my opinion, those are harder, but not unmanageable... DMC3 moreso than any other entry in those 2 series.

So my power is out so no gaming till that comes back. Just about to do laundry and play more Fable Dos: Whore Simulator XXX. Thank god for friends with shitty sleeping habbits and internet and power!
Speaking of DMC, I just played some of DMC4 today.

Such an awesome game. My second favorite game so far this year.
I liked DMC4 -- Ichigo as Nero was a nice touch. I just didn't appreciate the borderline halfass level design for the second half of the game.

I think that Maximo just pissed me off and I was in no mood to deal with it at the time. Now I'd probably keep playing. I've got NG's patterns memorized, so it's pretty easy up until very hard. DMC is mostly the same way. DMC3 is pretty damn hard at times though.

It kind of bothered me, but really, the game is more about the combat so it wasn't a big deal IMO.

I gave up on Maximo pretty quickly. But of course I fucking hate hard games. I play to chill out and relax. FPS are about the only games I'll put up with a challenge any more. Otherwise I'd prefer to just play something like Oblivion where I can put the difficulty down a bit and just veg and enjoy the questing, story etc.

I liked
playing as Nero, so being forced into Dante and pushed through the same stages and same bosses
felt like a cop out to me. Great game though. Might be my favorite DMC. I should go back and play the bloody palace... or maybe playthrough on human. Stupid non-stacking cheesemints. :\

I know what you mean about DMC4. But keep in mind DMC1 did the exact.same.thing. I still enjoyed it a lot though. I'd probably play through it again to get some trophies. Not some insane ones though. Especially the secret missions. I think it's SM11 is the Dante blocking one. What a terrible idea that one is. Just horrible.

Speaking of Trophies, I just got a 2nd Platinum Trophy.

Dante has all his styles, so I had no problem playing as him. Each character has his strong suits. The only thing is the bosses were obviously made with Nero in mind, so they weren't as exciting/cool when you fought them as Dante.

And 74% on the R2 beta. Only some more % to go.

I don't remember
DMC making me fight the same bosses twice, but as a different character. Backtracking from the fight with Mundus to the castle to escape, yes, but fighting all the major bosses twice? Maybe the spider, definitely Virgil, but not Griffin or Nightmare... though I'm not sure on nightmare... at least DMC4 didn't turn into a shooter at the final form of the last boss. ;)

I hated the styles in DMC3, so seeing them in DMC4 didn't do much for me. Nero played a lot closer to what Dante was in DMC so I think that's why I liked him best... that... and the devil arm is just fucking slick.
R2 beta downloaded in less than 1 hour. :whee:
I got it in less than 20 minutes, but I've got uber-connection. Liking it so far, but damn it's been a long time since I played an fps on console... like Halo 2 long time, and even that I didn't play much. Wish I had a mouse, so I could use the sniper super-effectively.

Okay. I've got 2 missions left in Saints Row. I can safely say that this is a game I'm not going to hold on to. The biggest turn off for me right now is that I need to fill my respect meter to tackle the last few missions. I've wiped out all the gangs and am working on taking out Ultor. Either way, this is stupid tedious now. But aside from that, and some minor frustration making me lower the difficulty level, this is one of the best games I've played this year. Excellent story, fun gameplay, and good humor. I'd say pick this one up at the $30> price tag.

Must be a pretty sad year. ;)

Night Rolento.

Tomorrow all us who are in the R2 beta should get some GGT co-op going. I don't think I've ever played a game online with most of you guys.

I'm game for sure. No headset though.

I'd do it, and I've a headset... but this is pending I get a new router tomorrow.

Of the new releases I've played this year, this is one of the better. Force Unleashed, SR2, UT3, and maybe one or two other titles. Yeah. A sad year indeed

Meh. I'm going to throw Saints Row on my tradelist. Any of you guys want first dibs?
