It's really bad that I forgot the DS rumble pack, as it's the reason I started the list. Gameboy Player I don't think counts, it worked with all the GB games so it's not really "barely supported." And now I suddenly remember there was a GBA player on GC.
I don't think Virtual Boy was technically an add on. The N64 Ram pack was decent, it helped with Star Wars Episode I Racer, and was required for DK64 and Majora's Mask.

All the light guns are pretty bogus.

The mario paint mouse?

What about the N64 Rumble Pak? Ooooh oooh, the useless Memory card Paks that some games were stupid enough to require for saving (TUROK... :bomb:).
apparently I got in the free realms beta... I wonder how good it will be even though it looks like it's for kids.
RR are u gonna pick up the pc version of braid and make some levels later on? :bouncy:
apparently I got in the free realms beta... I wonder how good it will be even though it looks like it's for kids.
Hells yea!

I've wanted to try that, but after what that guy said about Animal Crossing, "If you're an adult and playing this, you are playing for the wrong reasons!" I can't help but feel creepy trying it.

Let us know how it is!

So I've played a few min of it and have to say I can see this doing superbly well if it is ever released on PS3 since it's free.

You only pay a monthly fee (cheap $5) if you want more and you can pay for items like maple leaf.

I finally got past the first boss in Dead Rising and saved 4 survivors at once to boot :p I haven't played much of the game so far but I kinda already have a small laundry list of complaints for it. If I could do like GTA and turn off the timer and just go screw around by myself I'd have a blast. But the time limit stuff is so restrictive.
hehe after almost a page of comments, RR no-sells the Braid level editor jokes. :)
 I totally missed that >_<

yeah, I'm more happy about the graphics editor. I suck at making levels, and worse with Braid's mechanics.

Still you guys need to at least acknowledge non-jrpgs are good

bring on the ReRo hate train.

i actually wanna see a level from u :)
cant wait to see what people come up with in general though with the editor
i wonder how custom puzzles are gonna go cuz in vanilla braid the only one that gave me problems was the piece above the door in i think 1-3(only time i had to look for help to figure it out)

It would be neat if games had an option to display every song/melody that plays under every circumstance, and then you could change them to whatever you wanted.

Thats the kind of design innovation that would actually justify significant on board storage space.

Brawl?

EDIT: Yes, I know, you don't have full control. But is that the sort of general thing you were referring to or holy shit I'm really god damn tired.

I hate you.

Virtual Boy was a stand alone "console". It connected straight to the TV and had zero connectivity to any of the other systems that Nintendo had out at the time.

Yeah, VB wasn't an add-on, but I popped it in for being instantly forgotten by Nintendo and barely supported. N64 RAM was decent I guess, but it still worked for, what, less than a dozen games? Rumble Pak and N64 Memory card were pretty widely supported, I thought.

I dunno. Got the rumble pak with star fox and it collected dust.
Never owned a memory pak. Every game I played that was worth saving something in pretty much had the internal save mechanisms.

There was something called a "Transfer pak"... was that in your list?

The Transfer Pak is an accessory that plugged into the controller and allowed the Nintendo 64 to transfer data between Game Boy and N64 games. The Transfer Pak has a Game Boy Color slot and a part that fits onto the expansion port of the N64 controller. It is considered the predecessor of the GameCube-Game Boy Advance cable. It was included with the game Pokémon Stadium, as the game's main feature was importing Pokémon teams from Game Boy titles.

More:

The Nintendo 64 Disk Drive (known as the Nintendo 64DD or just 64DD) is the official N64 Disk Drive attachment. It was a commercial failure and was consequently never released outside of Japan. It featured networking capabilities similar to the SNES Satellaview.

The VRU (Voice Recognition Unit) has only two compatible games Densha de Go! 64 and Hey You, Pikachu! each avalible with this accessory packed in or available separately in the case of 'Densha de Go! 64' because it was not required for gameplay, while it was required to play 'Hey You, Pikachu!'.

The virtual boy didn't hook up to your tv. It was "Portable". According to my good friend wikipedia:

Nintendo's Virtual Boy first portable game console capable of displaying "true 3D graphics" out of the box.
Nelo Ice:

Is chuck really in danger of not being renewed for a third season? Its such an awesome show.

The two I can recall that I really loved that required it were Blast Corps and Turok 2.

Damn, I can't believe it's gonna cost $30 more for a second player to fully experience Virtua Tennis 2009 on the Wii than it will to fully experience Virtua Tennis on a 360.

:whistle2:(

I bet it will be more fun on Wii though with the "+", at the cost of being very, very, VERY ugly.

Damn, no raise for me, or anyone.
They put us all on a salary freeze.

Cool so I came home from school yesterday and there's this comcast doucher fucking up my house.

"WTF are you doing d00d" I say.

My cable wires are too low? he tells me. He has to fix them or something.

"K d00d don't fuck it up I say".

And then did shit and left.

And then I didn't have half my channels or internet all night.

COOL DOOOD

I rented blast corps... but I swear it had internal storage, at least enough for 1 game. The only game I remember renting that sucked was Turok because I couldn't save due to lack of memory pak.

After googling, you're right, it was just because I needed 2 slots as my brother was playing it as well. The memory card with that game is I distinctly burned into my mind as I was about 75% done with getting all gold medals and losing the game save data on my third party memory card, and having to start over and buying a first party memory pack.

I did end up getting gold medals (and several platinum or whatever the next level was called) and unlocking everything finally. I'd never have the patience for something like that again--with or without memory card failure!
Either I'm really tired or I really stink at Pacmang CE...can't decide.
A few of the modes are kinda tricky at first , but after a couple runs through them you get the hang of it. The fifth mode (challenge mode 3 I think , 10 minute survival) seems really hard the first couple times for me , but then my last run I blew through the thing with a huge score and only died like twice.
The virtual boy didn't hook up to your tv. It was "Portable". According to my good friend wikipedia:
I can vouch for that as well. The virtual boy was by far the "least portable" portable system ever. Still wish I had one in my collection just for the 4 or 5 games that were actually good for it.
The two I can recall that I really loved that required it were Blast Corps and Turok 2.
Blast Corps did allow 1 save file on the cardtridge itself. A memory pack allowed up to 4 additional saves.

Getting Platinum medals was hard as fuck. I think I only ever got 1.
Third party memory cards.... never used them.
Too many of my friends had their data vanish.
Had a couple for the PS1 that never gave me any trouble , but the couple I had for the 64 always crapped out on me. Needless to say I've never used a 3rd party memory card since that generation.

Best 3rd party saving device ever was the Dex Drive from Interact. I loved that thing. Even though I think I've lost most of the saves from it since they were all on my old computer.
I just realized something. I got Advent Children mixed up with Spirits Within. . . Yeah, I was very out of it when I woke up.

So to clarify, Advent Children was mostly fan service trash, not really good though.

Spirits Within sucked a fat fucking dick.
I thought Advent Children was one of the best movies of all time. I really enjoyed it and looking to buy the complete version on blu-ray.

The Spirits Within wasn't too bad. Not great, but not bad either. That's just my opinion.

Watch more movies.

Yeah, the Dex Drive was great.

Hey mana, I played some your quizzes on on Buzz online.
Your "Very Hard RPG Quiz" wasn't hard at all! :)

And Frisky's "Know your OTT History quiz" was hilarious.

You were mentioned Frosty, I picked you but you were the wrong answer.
You let me down.

question was, who was the first otter to get a name change

I'm just glad there wasn't a "who stalked women at his office" question, because my lady friend was watching me play.

There were a couple before me. tiredfornow went to just tfn then back to tiredfornow eventually. greystone when from greystone to citizen b and back. not sure if they were before or after rocko (sixersballernumsomething)...

I agree. Advent Children was one of the best CG Final Fantasy movies (featuring Cloud) I've ever seen!
So, useless and barely-supported Nintendo add-ons:
R.O.B.
Power Pad
Power Glove
SNES Mouse
Super Scope 6
Game Boy Camera
Game Boy Printer
Virtual Boy
N64 RAM Expansion
GBA-GC link cable
e-card reader
Gamecube Broadband Adapter
DS Rumble Pack
Wii Balance Board
and now Wii Motion +?
As was mentioned, the Virtual Boy was not an accessory. I'd take off the GBA-GC cable, as that was actually used in a decent pile of genuinely good games. Whether or not it actually added anything to those games - fuck you, Splinter Cell radar - is something else, but still, it was supported for quite a while.

I'm not sure who made it, but what about the GC keyboard? The one that you only used for PSO?
I thought Advent Children was one of the best movies of all time. I really enjoyed it and looking to buy the complete version on blu-ray.
Okay, I am genuinely curious, here. I'm not... y'know, I'm not going "LOL, TMK is so funny!" with this one. So I'd appreciate it if you got back to me on this one. With a detailed response. Alright? Alright.

So.

Advent Children had a good pile of FF7 characters in it. Aside from that, what was good? There wasn't really much of a story. The dialogue made all kinds of not-sense. The action was... well, shit, I've ranted enough about that for now. So what was good?

Advent Children was utter garbage. I enjoyed FF7 a lot, but the movie was just terrible. It looked great, but the plot was stupid and the dialogue was awful.

I respect other's opinions, but anyone who thinks it's one of the BEST movies of all time clearly isn't much of a movie buff. I'd have a bit less issue with someone saying it was one of their FAVORITE movies of all times as everyone has guilty pleasures, or things they like as they're a fan of a series or genre etc., that aren't necessarily great films and should never be mentioned in discussion of all time best films.

That N64 one was the first and last one I ever bought. And it was only bought as it was the only thing in stock when we needed one for Turok or multiple saves on Blast Corps (forget which was the first one we played).
