nobody really knows about the ROM thing.. It's not specifically stated in the law. It's defiently more ethical than if you just downloaded the ROM, and I don't see why anybody would give you trouble for it if you bought Super Mario Bros 3 and were playing a ROM of it to use on your PSP for example..

Huh, why did I think SOCOM PS3 release was yesterday? PSN says tomorrow.

Crap, I hope TRU gets it today. I'd like to take advantage of B2G1 and the longer I wait, the less selection there'll be. :p

Someone let me know when this new General Gaming Forum starts up...

Why can't we talk about Turok exactly?

I'm gone for a minute and all of the sudden the threads I visit are all messed up.

Yet the Off Topic forum is intact with its funny title.

What gives?
I couldn't get past the green orb guys that come out of the pits in Concrete Man's stage in the demo. I played it for like 8 minutes but couldn't do it.
i don't even remember concrete man's stage. the only stage i really remember is tornado man's stage because his is the hardest without rush jet... all the other boss stages are pretty easy =)

Um, I was gone for a while and I come back and I don't know what's going on. Bunch of dudes silenced, threads all over, etc.

Clue me in or I'll have to play Sherlock Holmes for the next few hours. X_X

Edit: Found out why, thanks refused!!

Whenever the new board gets started up, gimme a holla.

Is Linkin done playing Hall Monitor yet? Alls I know is that he was parading around like he's a fuckin' comedic genius, saying things like "o gee, what if we separated the OTT into different threads," but he's not particularly skilled at eliciting laughs. Guess he can add that to his extensive resume of things he's just not very good at. And either way, Linky-poo (because I know you're insecure and reading this to see just what people are sayin' about you), what did you actually accomplish? You merged the threads, then uhm.... backpedaled completely? All you did was make yourself look like a dope once again, handing out infractions left and right like anyone gives a damn what you think. How typical.

Anyway, jer, as far as I know, it's only legally acceptable to circumvent DRM stuff once the game is considered "obsolete," and the DRM no longer serves any benefit to the publisher or developer. There's no specified amount of time or anything, but you're allowed to circumvent that DRM shit if the game is old and the DRM is preventing you from using the product. I think that was in the DMCA. Really, though, I think it's ethically aight to bypass the DRM if you've bought the game. If I've paid my dues, I don't really care what the company considers fair.

I started playing Onimusha 2 again. It's really, really good. Though that one bit in the middle of the game where you fight like... 3 reasonably tough boss battles in such a short span is still a bitch.

Edit: Also - Social Groups are stupid and nobody uses them, because they're inconvenient and painfully redundant given that this is... y'know, a message board. So if you think people are going to switch to those... IT. WILL. NEVER. fuckING. HAPPEN.

lbp looks damn fine, a dream come true for a diehard platforming fan like myself

alas, $60 is too much for now...$30 sounds like a steal though

Welcome back brother.

Tekken DR, SCIV, NHL 09, CoD4, Rock Band, or Buzz? I don't think I have anything else. Anyway, you know how to find me.
Hint: PSN
I pm'ed him. Still will prolly trade it in and knock out a chunk of gears or something.

Leaning back towards LBP, fuck you tmk. :p
Go with the game and please don't say that word back to me. :p

I played some Wipeout HD online not too long ago. Quite a lot of fun. Also played Castle Crashers, Buzz, and Wii Sports with my friend when he came over today.

I'm not even going to list all the PSN games I own (too many). :p

Anyone want a 20 GB HDD for $20-$25 shipped for an Xbox 360? I am waiting for my data migration kit before I can let it go. But I wanna get rid of this to a nice CAG. Played more Disgaea. Need to grind out a few more levels to advance past 6-2 or 6-3. I forget. Anyway, tons of fun. I am delving into the item world. It is fun.

What, Chac got temp banned again?!

Am tired and have stuff to do this evening, so no gaming for me tonight... probably no gaming until the weekend, to be honest. That's the downside of being employed, I guess  Did get a tiny bit further in Mario RPG last night, though.

Oh, and I love the newest Penny Arcade shirt.

Well, at least he was just temp banned and not permagone.

I will be WoW'ing again tonight. After ghost hunters, though.

Busy weekend for me coming up--friend's wedding (kids are in the wedding party: ring bearer and flower girl) and on-call for work. Ugh. Sleepy will be I. >_

I think I'm going to install wow again. How does this tripple xp work?

Hastings didn't have dead space. Not sure what gaming I'm gonna do tonight. Do have to turn in my essay and do my grandma's grades.

Haha, I already got another request for FFX. 400 points for the same game since some asshole tried to screw me. Pissed about the bad feeback, but oh well.
Can you guys give me your 2 cents on motorstorm?

Looked up some reviews and some said its fun...$10 fun?
My opinion? No.

Go play the demo and see for yourself?
Ken, you picked up a used 120GB HDD and getting a kit from MS? Just wondering if that's possible.
Yes. You just put the elite hd serial on the migration kit form and fax it in, I guess -- manthing did it. But if you have a 256 or 512 mb memcard, migrating your own shit is easy and quick.

--

$20 shipped seems high for a 20gb HDD now that NXE is going to subsidize the refurb 20gb HDDs with 3 mos of live for like $20.

I am not sure. I bought an Elite.

Aren't thos $30? $20 for a 20 GB HDD is expensive? Ok... It is probably going to be around $5 just to ship it.
People whining about DRM seem like such big babies. PC gamers are nuts.
Agreed.
Well, looks like I'm passing on Far Cry 2. It's got the same goddamn draconian DRM that Crysis Warhead and Spore have. Once again, the person that purchases the retail disc is treated like the criminal.
Do you also get furious at Best Buy's "draconian" policies when the guy at the door asks to see your receipt before you walk out the door?

I love this - treated like a criminal. Pulled over and handcuffed? Locked in a cell all day? Beaten by police? Oh, no, having your game phone home is being "treated like a criminal."
Can you guys give me your 2 cents on motorstorm?

If you like racing games, any racing game is $10 fun. If you're so-so on racing games, there are better ones out there.
$20 isn't expensive since only Arcade owners can take advantage of that NXE deal.

The NXE deal is only $20.
I thought the refurb HDD and 3 months of XBL was $30 and just the HDD was $20.
I thought the refurb HDD and 3 months of XBL was $30 and just the HDD was $20.
I'm not sure about that. Haven't heard of the 3 month deal.

I try to avoid PC games because of DRM, so they are not nuts.

I don't like the idea of my game ceasing to function based on something that doesn't involve physical degradation.

Eww, Dead Space is full of fetch quests?

Icky icky.

Thinking about getting back to Jeanne D'arc. I stopped at the part where
You get control of Jeanne again after she falls off the cliff and "dies".
How much more do I have left?

I just did what you did kendal, I have a 20gb HDD over there gathering dust -- I was going to try to sell to someone here or cut a friend from work a deal if his kid gets a 360 arcade for xmas... (at least mine's not refurb, right?) but now it looks like I might just give it to him since I doubt it will fetch much.

Just checked:
Arcade owners: $30 for a refurb 20 gb and 3 months live
Core owners: $20 for refurb 20gb or 512mb memory card

I'm not quite sure why they differentiated... unless the core didn't come with a 256mb card? But why not give core owners the chance to get 3 months of live for $10? :whistle2:k

Sorry kendal, $20 shipped is probably about right then.

I didn't realize they were offering the offer to Core owners, actually, I don't think they are.

I tried to get the free 512MB card last night (w/ my Core) and I wasn't offered it.

Super Mario Brothers.

Dead Space looks cool, but a lot of the impressions I have seen describe a lot of it as "Now walk to X place to find item X, oh shit, you also need item Y, walk to where you can get item Y. Oh dayum, we also need item A! Go back 40 square miles and get it."
You have to fetch the long, skinny blocks.
...to destroy them!

Also, it's not so much that tetrinos have to be fetched as they come to you. Something you "fetch" has to be something you go out and look for, right?

Think of it like Devil May Cry. It's not like how you think.

You're playing the game and collecting whatever to get to the next area to continue kicking ass, but it's not fucking Crazy Taxi.
