The post count cap was a limit of the old board/server. It's kind of what spawned the whole custom thread title/weird names thing. Just a fun thing to do, but I agree sometimes the names were awkward and inappropriate (but not my one shot at it of course).

MM's trip wasn't a secret, but even though he's not in the US, he does have sporadic time/opportunity to post here while abroad and his last post expressing his displeasure with the recent thread activies was never followed up on--anyone who assumed he was going to follow through with his remarks isn't completely crazy.

I'm cool with the current arrangement--this thread can stay open as long as it needs to as far as I'm concerned.

And Amazon is prepping my Fable II order for shipment--looks like they are shooting for release day delivery for my order, even though I didn't really request it that way.

This french dude's preview of fallout 3 is scaring me.

http://www.nma-fallout.com/article.php?id=45725

I do suspect he's just bitter because they didn't let him use screenshots that he wanted to use, and very bitter about the controlled nature of the review session, but his complaints might be valid.

Especially if you're able to switch karma from good to bad extremes in a matter of minutes.. and then have it removed from your history in a few days.. Ugh..

The gameplay is fun corrosive, it just gets a little bit stale after a while. I probably put 15 hours into the beta.

Main reason I'm buying at this point is so I can help make cool shit with rero.

That one sounded like a "I've been waiting to hate this game since it was announced because I'm an old school fan" review, but I'm definitely getting more and more skeptical of the game. Still getting it day 1 though :)

I'm almost completely over Little Big Planet. I have decided I'd rather buy a game that is well designed and thought out by professionals than one that thrives on what the average videogame player can come up with. (Having worked videogame retail, I can tell you it's not good)

Maybe if they let you change how sackboy looks(Beyond a superficial level) or plays in an update, i'll consider it, but until then the levels felt too limited by his short hops and sluggish physics.

99% of the user created levels are going to be boring, broken, or gimmicky crap like the calculator that is just gimped, LBP versions of things that already work for less than $60 in other ways.

Yeah, for sure. Most of his complaints I can explain away, but if the karma system is as cut and dry as that, I'll be very disappointed. Being able to ruin your reputation PERMANENTLY gave your actions weight in Fallout 1 and 2 and lacking that, It's going to feel very hollow and very FPS-like, where every random person is expendable/not real.

Getting away with doing bad things in Fallout was half the fun.. If you can just get away with it anytime, then who cares?

I like you jer, you talk me out of spending money. I'l think a little more before I cancel.

How much more could I get for GH2/guitar ps2 and gh3/guitar 360 online than at hastings?

Well basically getting it for $40 isn't bad. The MM created levels should be fun.

I will be getting it someday.. maybe in like 6 months. But there's too many other games I will be playing over it regardless of if I bought it now or not. Time is a factor.

Parts of what he says mimic the gameplay footage i've watched.
Can't say I was overly interested in Fallout 3 meets Oblivion, as I was big on the magic system in Oblivion and I don't think there's a equivalent, or the place for it, in Fallout 3.

Fallout 3 looks crazy bootleg from what I've seen. A shitty shooter mixed in with a shitty open world.

Dead space on the other hand, looks fuckin great. Anyone have it?

I really miss SSBB. I'm tempted to buy it again, but I'd have to play it on my sister's wii and that is not cool.

Shipping is the pain in the ass about selling GH games online. Shipping runs about 12 for parcel post and upwards of 16 for priority.

I think you can sell GH2 (ps2) for probably 30? Not sure how to accomodate shipping on that one. GH3 game only sells for cheeeeeap, but you could probably get a decent amount for a good condition les paul -- probably 40 total on the GH3 set? I dunno...

half is a bad example, probably, because half doesn't charge full shipping to customers, only the $3 for media mail, but here's GH3 (360) bundle:

People I know who have played it have said it's "fanfuckingtastic".

frosty (1:27:37 PM): you get to play Dead Space?
friend of frost (1:33:50 PM): Yeah.
friend of frost (1:33:52 PM): Shit is HOT.
friend of frost (1:34:34 PM): The only thing I dont like is that the enemies are really ugly. :(
friend of frost (1:34:39 PM): And the blood is toooooooo much.
friend of frost (1:34:54 PM): You can stomp on a body and the limbs fall off.
frosty (1:35:57 PM): nice
frosty (1:35:59 PM): scary?
friend of frost (1:38:25 PM): Has a bunch of OH SHIT moments.
friend of frost (1:38:31 PM): Soundtrack/effects are awesome, too.
friend of frost (1:38:40 PM): It really is RE4 in space, lol.

Yeah, I think I'll just take my chances at hastings. If I could get 50 it would be worth it.

The money will either go towards a new rock band guitar or gears.

Nice. I've heard 10 hours on length, so it's a definite rental.

I just rarely played it and didn't feel like plugging in my GC controller just to play it (also, due to my Wii setup, using a wired controller is annoying). It got me quite a bit of credit at GameStop and I was able to buy Buzz! Quiz TV, which I play much more. I was keeping either Guilty Gear XX: AC or SSBB, but I chose GG XX:AC since I prefer GG series.

Exactly the problem with a lot of these games that give you morality choices. You can slaughter a whole town, then come in with chocolates for everyone (who somehow sprang back to life during the load screen), which makes everything okay.

I'm all for making amends, but come on!

just one more reason to love the Witcher...you never really know for sure if you're a bad guy or not.

I wish someone had teh witcher to download for 30 bucks. I'd get it then.

Just called blockbuster. They have Dead Space in to rent, but I can't rent it till tomorrow for some stupid ass reason. They're holding it for me though, so it's all chill.

Dead Space is great.

Definitely looks to be a sort of "sleeper hit" in the sense that it sort of came out of nowhere. Even though it's getting a ton of backing from EA.

When I first heard about it, I thought "who gives a fuck".
Then I warmed to it for some reason and said "I want to see the gameplay".
I watched the video posted about a month back where Isaac takes on a miniboss along with some video of the weapons being used and thought "looks horrible, no thanks".
Then LP asked about it, so I went to find a video to show him what it was about and came across some G4 special or something and got to watch part of chapter 6 -- while the combat seemed way frequent for a survival horror-shit your pants type of game, the preview with the dev changed my mind... i've been foaming at the mouth for it for a bit now, but it'll probably be a little bit before i get to play it. :\

I really want the game Dead Space, but I have to wait until I but certain games in October/November to see how much left I have to spend. I really wish I had a job to pay for all of this, but I might just ask Santa Claus for Dead Space. ;)
j/k on the Santa part
. Regardless I'll get it sometime.
SR2?

Fable 2, Far Cry 2, Midnight Club, Fallout 3 will all be out soon.
Our tastes are very different (those aren't the games I want). :D :p

For me it goes (already came out):
NBA Live 09, SOCOM Confrontation, Dead Space, and Rock Revolution.

Coming soon:
LittleBigPlanet, Eternal Sonata (PS3), BioShock (PS3), Rock Band 2 (PS3), Guitar Hero: WT, MotorStorm: PR, SingStar Volume 2, Star Ocean: First Departure, DDR Universe 3, Neverland Card Battles maybe, and maybe SingStar Legends.

Regardless, October is an awesome month. :D

ROCK REVOLUTION???

WAT???

Why do you only like things that are TERRRIBLE?

I'm going to get My japanese coach and maybe two other ds games at TRU today..

Really?
I want Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero: World Tour more. Eventually I might pick it up, but it's far from being a priority. I just really love the music genre of games and that's why I have interests in picking it up. It's far from being one of my highest wants though. I know it has some crappy covers (like KR series had). Speaking of Rock Revolution, I saw the commercial on FX the other day.

Sk8er Boi was covers in Elite Beat Agents also if I remember correctly.

Sk8er Boi was actually fun in EBA.
Sort of true, because I do like Avril Lavigne (would love more of her songs for SingStar). ;)
I knew you weren't an african-american.

That is nothing but truth. There is nothing good about Rock Revolution at all. Crappy covers, no vocals, a stupidly complex drum set, and no guitar. Save your $130 until you can add enough to that to buy Rock Band/2 or GHWT.

Or buy the Wii version of RR for $50 and play air guitar and drums.
don't like thread title, but whatevah

Konami said they made Rock Revolution to just use a GH3 guitar instead of trying to make their own (easier on me). I already have more than enough guitars and don't need more. I was just going to buy a standalone copy one day and just have another guitar game to play, that's all. I don't care about vocals because I already have SingStar for that (I rarely use vocals on RB because it messes me up in SingStar the next time I play, and I greatly prefer SingStar for singing). RB is great for the other stuff IMO.
It's all temporary ReRo. Any suggestions?
Most excellent title, now, imo. I wish the OTT would do something like this and stop closing them at 500. :\

I wonder how many blog entries mana can rack up before it breaks the servers... ;) 90 is freaking impressive...

When does Fable 2 release, gun? Who'd you get it through?

I believe the release date is this coming Tuesday the 21st. Not sure if it's street dated. I ordered via Amazon (GCs ftw!).

I'm waiting on Fable 2. $30 is about what I'd like to pay for it. I liked the first one, but I can wait this one out.

Also, I'm cool with the tread title being just plain and normal. I like stupid shit sometimes, but I can see why others wouldn't. I'm honored that one of my contributions was mentioned though, since that's like the 3rd time ever I've made a thread. :)

Has anybody else just not felt like playing their backlogs? I have some really good games I haven't touched, but I just don't feel like playing them as of late. I'd rather just play something that's instantly gratifying most of the time.
Its not very good, mangamang.
Darn. I played the Trial and thought it was cool, then saw a review saying it was only 20 minutes.
Srsly? Whats the point of $10 for a 20 minute game? Nonsense.

I'm probably getting:
MM9
Ikaruga
some other stuff
I got 5600 points recently.

Oh, and Futureshop (Canada) started doing Trade-Ins not to long ago. Why should you care? The non-GH version of Ninja Gaiden Sigma has a trade-in value of 27 freaking dollars!
Also, if you trade in any 3 games worth at least $10, you get 50% off LBP OR Fable AND you get all the trade credit.
And DMC4 is $22.

Well, the point is to play it over and over, old school style. Ikaruga isn't very long either, provided you have the skills to beat it.

I've been sitting on like 1200 points for months, nothing I want to buy with them. Rez HD was the last thing I bought.

Also, not stating anything new, but GS trades have sucked since the merger. I need to take all my shit to Canada it seems. . .
Damn, GS was going to give me 9 bucks or some shit for NG:Sigma.

Canada wins.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure thats what EB and BBV here are doing. I love FS. I would think that they'd be kind of with it (they're owned by Best Buy and is essentially the EXACT same thing) but I guess not :)

I'm so fucking bored! I'm stuck at home all day because my parents are out of town and I have to babysit.

I don't even have my license yet so I can't go rent a game.
Hai I'm back :)
Any opinions on Triggerheart Excelia?
I like it. It's a fun, old-school-style scrolling shooter.

Keep in mind that these kinds of games are not about length, but replay and scoring. If you're just in it to play through until the end, don't bother.

I seriously spent all afternoon sleeping and playing Saints Row 2. And I figured out what was wrong with my "busted" ps3 controller. Damn button was stuck. Saves me $50. But that's all the video games I get to play today. I've got a meeting in half an hour, then I gotta work. But I thoroughly enjoyed today.

Finally got onto a game on Socom. I'd say for the all the trouble the game has given me these past two days... It's has been soooo worth it. The game is so much fun even though there is a little lag here and there (they're working on ironing things out atm) If anyone would want to play a few rounds later tonight I'll be on 10:30 est onward. PSN is Nirran.

I'd love to try give SOCOM online a try, but TRU still hasn't gotten the game in yet. :(

If it doesn't come in tomorrow, I'll have to wait until the next sale (Saturday is shot thanks to my buddy's wedding).
