PoR also has one of the few moments in gaming that has legitimately made me call out, "BULLSHIT!" -
When you fight the two sisters near the end of the game. They're very difficult to beat, and if you kill them, game over. If they kill you, game over. What do you do? You go back to some random ass portrait from three hours ago and use some new ability you just got to get a spell you need to defeat them. I can't remember getting any hint I was supposed to do this, and when I finally consulted GameFAQs, I was pissed.

I played Duke only on the N64. Never played Dynasty Warriors.
To be fair other Castelvanias have done the same thing. Such as if you beat Richter in SotN.

Also, people haven't played the DW games!?

Rei, enlighten me on DW. I'm kinda interested in Warriors Orochi 2. Also, I do have some interest in the new DW coming to PSP. LEND ME YOUR KNOWLEDGE.

Wait, lie. I played Dynasty Warriors Gundam.

Pressing X got boring after about five minutes, so I was done with.

My #1 rule for gaming: if something isn't interesting even after you add giant fucking robots, it's not worth the time.
Rei, enlighten me on DW. I'm kinda interested in Warriors Orochi 2. Also, I do have some interest in the new DW coming to PSP. LEND ME YOUR KNOWLEDGE.
Basically they're a series of amazing beat-em up style games with a bit of tactics thrown in. They're based on Chinese (Japanese in the case of Samurai Warriors) history, but an exaggerated version.

I'd say go pick up one of the older titles in the series for cheap and give it a try. The series hasn't changed much since DW3, which was a vast improvement over DW2. The series does change though just that it goes through a fine tuning with each installment rather than a complete overhaul. Just don't get the Xtreme Legends games since those are expansions. Also the Empires games add a lot of tactics to the gameplay (they're a lot of fun, but you should start with the main series first).

Warriors Orochi 2 is really good. It's probably my favorite game in the series, beating out Samurai Warriors 2.
That too, and the fact that the entire second half of the game was just going back though the portraits you had already gone in, just backwards.

It's probably my biggest disappointment within the Castlevania series. But then again, the only Castlevanias that I've played are: Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Dawn of Sorrow.

On the topic of having never played certain games, it wasn't until recently that I realized that I've never played a Duke Nukem game, and I've never played a Dynasty Warriors series game. What about everyone else?
Harmony of Dissonance sucks. Biggest disappointment ever in Castlevania (nintendo portable games, GBA or DS, at least).

I've never played Duke Nukem. I've played DW, but got tired of it real fucking quick.

Don't even waste your time with Dynasty Warriors. If you don't like it, you don't like it. If you do, you know you like it.

That shit is wretched.

On topic, I flipped about $25 of blockbuster credit and $10 cash into a copy of Fable 2 tonight, so awesome.

I heart Blockbuster. I heart ripping off Gamestop.

I love how you say don't waste your time then say "if you like it you know you like it, and if you don't then you don't." Wouldn't you need to try the game?

Okay I suppose, but that series has been going on long enough that if you haven't played it by now, you're not going to enjoy it. It's not like they change those games. It was novel and impressive to mash your way through 300 dudes back when the PS2 was new, but these days even beat-em-ups are more mature.

Meaning they turned into Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry, and God of War. For good reason. That DW shit is wretched. It's like being served a petrified turd with some whipped cream on it and being told it's a banana split sundae.

They can't even do the cherry right, for god's sake.

Also, Rei is a grown man playing Rhapsody and Princess Debut.

Make of that what you will, puma.

However, if the load times were short enough and the missions brief, I could see maybe playing one of those games portable on PSP.

Maybe

They should do a Ninja version of Dynasty Warriors. Like the Real Ultimate Power style of Ninja.

Holy Shit.. I think I just came up with the best idea for a game EVER.

What does that have to do with me? I played like a minute of rhap and then sold that shit.

I really do need to get DMC4. A nyone looking to get rid of it?
I'm contemplating getting rid of my black dreamcast... I realize I don't use it as much as I would like, but I don't mind owning it.... >_

No. DMC and NG are different genres entirely. Those are action games. DW is a beat-em up. Maybe they don't change them to you, but they change more than enough for fans of the series. If you don't get it, that's fine. I don't get Madden games but I don't go around calling them wretched because of that. Rei forbid we let someone try the game and make up their own mind about it.
Also, Rei is a grown man playing Rhapsody and Princess Debut.

I'll tell you what I make of me playing Rhapsody and Princess Debut. That I'm mature enough to like good games despite some immature people attempting to indirectly insult my manhood because of it.

I have a friend that is really big into DW, and myself being a really big fan of Beat em ups, he was really surprised when I said I'd never played a DW game.

Give one of the games a try. The older ones are cheap. If you like beat-em ups you'll probably like it. It's understandable if you don't end up buying every game in the series, but you'll most likely have good fun with a couple of them.
Duke Nukem 3D was the shit back in '96.
Duke Nukem 3D still kicks ass. Now if only they would finish Duke Nukem Forever...

Put in a good 3 or 4 hours more with Oblivion tonight. Did one story quest, closed another Oblivion gate and did 4 dark brotherhood missions. I'm digging the game a lot, it has flaws--slow down, weapons and armor degrading is annoying, the main story isn't very compelling, and it's a bit overwhelming/complicated (not having a manual, just the map, doens't help probabl). But the more I play the more I get sucked in. There's just so many damn quests to do.

That game was like crack to me. Over 120 hours of my life gone before I knew what happened.

I never got the hate for that game. I loved it personally. Part of it was probably just not being stupid hard and looking like ass like Circle of the Moon which I played before it.

We're both going to get lynched but I agree with everything you just said.

Do you guys think it's a waste of money to pick up Guitar Hero bundle even though I already have Rock Band 1? Music games are like my favorite genre, and the shit is improved 10x, but 190 is a lot of dough.

I misplaced FFX, so I can't send it to the guy on goozex. there goes 200 points.

Need to put civilization up so it might get my points in time for the next street fighter that comes around.
That game was like crack to me. Over 120 hours of my life gone before I knew what happened.
Yeah, I've put like 15 hours in it so far in a bit over a week, which is a ton of gaming for me. It will take me a long time to get through with it though. Not much time to play the next three weeks as I'm doing a lot of traveling for job interviews and a confernce. And Gears 2 will be out as well....

But Oblivion will definitely keep me from buying more games other than Gears 2 for while, especially since the other games I have my eyes on are RPGs (Fable 2, Fallout 3). I'll probably play through oblivion and maybe even the 2 expansions before picking up either of those unless I happen to get a quick match on Goozex for them.

I can't believe it, but there are ALMOST enough worthwhile games out/coming out to warrant me purchasing a Wii. ALMOST.

Soon as I find one for 150 I jump.

So I'm back from hanging out with my best friend. We went to see Saw 5. It sucked so much. But we got in for free, so that was sick. Then we smoked giant ass cigars. Good night over all.

Now I want to play video games. All I've got on me is Disgaea and Starcraft. So I'm going to throw some hours in to Disgaea.

And to those looking at getting a dreamcast, check my list. I gotta get rid of this thing...
CML  Though it has a bunch of shit on it. . .

CML on that DC.

Unless it's worth more than a normal DC. Then I can't afford it.
srry.. no go. I'll be adding it to my trade list over the weekend when I find time.

I am about done with Fable II. Anyone beat it, what did you choose. Major spoilers in the tags. DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU HAVE FINISHED THE GAME!

If you do the Sacrifice ending, do you get your dog back? I am picking Love to be safe. fuck the people who made the spire.

Excellent game. Will play through more later on when I don't have a holiday orgy of games looming.

As far as I know right now, no. It's really a stupid design decision, just like one of the endings to GTAIV.
You should be furiously masturbating!
It's sad that that's an option

I might pound some booze and pass out. Sneh.

Oh man that's a good combo I never thought of. I like that cranberry sierra mist, but.. with whiskey? It's like a 7 and 7 with cranberry! AWESOME

I'm pretty sure I would really love a Dynasty Warriors: REAL ULTIMATE POWER game. The ninja would flip out and kill EVERYONE just for absurd reasons in every stage, like for instance in the first stage, your task is to slaughter an entire town because some kid opened a window, and as your combo increase the guitar wailing gets harder and harder. SHIT.. I just got myself PUMPED thinking about that.

At the end of the stage, when everyone has died, the ninja commits seppuku with his frisbee because he's so pumped but there's nobody around to kill. And ninja babes in the stage need saving, and when you do you pop like, 26 boners and get REALLY PUMPED and go into FLIP OUT mode for a while.

I actually emailed the real ultimate power guy with this idea. In a lot more detail. I want it, so bad.

Real Ultimate Power would be awesome in any game! Well, any game where ninjas and flipping out and killing everyone would be appropriate.

Good morning GGT. Put some more time into Mario RPG last night and will probably have a go at DDR Supernova 2 sometime this weekend.

Got a couple questions, too: Has anyone here played Dokapon Kingdom, especially multiplayer? It looks pretty cool, but I'm still on the fence. Also, does anyone know if Unreal Tournament 3 PC has any kind of DRM, or just the standard serial number stuff? I'm looking to get the Collector's Edition for cheap, but that means buying used.

I always thought the new Ninja Gaiden games were essentially REAL ULTIMATE POWER games. I mean, once you get good, shit goes down.

Finished Dead Space last night

So fucking good except for one small irritation at the end

I'm undecided on what's next. It's finish up SR2, Mercs 2 or Bioshock(Yeah, I know I stink...)

It was an eye opening experience using craigslist to sell some shit this week and seeing not one, but MULTIPLE sellers pitching early copies of Call of Duty, Fable 2, Far Cry 2, Gears 2, and Fallout 3 that are 100% guaranteed DVD-ROM burns.. FOR $30.

Not to mention people selling modded system bundles with a load of DVD-ROMs.. I wonder if the police around here care? Anyone dumb enough to blatantly sell that shit deserves a knock on their door and a warm, unirating sensation in their pants. fucking pirates.

I played through Mega Man 2 on VC this morning.. in like an hour. Man that game is fun. I'm on this wacky sleep schedule because my girlfriend gets up for work at like 4:30 am.

Any GGTer want a R2 beta code? PM me.

Gonna hit up dat Condemned more today. I'm just past the
bear attack
in the cabin, which was pretty cool.

I tried to play Mass Effect last night to finish my Insane playthough on 360, and man, that game runs like shit.

Why is Fable Original Recipe boring and not fun.

Who has Farcry 2? I remember reading some cover story about it where they mentioned that you choose your character at the beginning, and the ones you don't choose become NPCs in the game you can interact with. Truth?

How is Ninja Gaiden Sigma? I'm tempted to get it in the Wal-mart deal.

So apparently, the new Guitar Hero drums suck. Which means I'm going to go with the Rock Band 2 set unless new reports can change my mind.
I really just want a new guitar, the RB1 one blows. I need to drums though, this pos kick pedal is killing me. It's like impossible to do 8th note bass pedal notes.

I have got to find some batteries. I knwo I'm gonna have crazy fun with Fable as soon as I get into it.

I hate rei.

And Ahadi, I want your Dreamcast bad, just trying to allocate some funds.

I'd trade for some gamez.

And the cranberry sierra mist really brought down the harshness that is whiskey. Excellent combo though. I suggest everyone try it at some point.

CML then? Not much there nowadays, sadly.

And wow, I just realized I could get a fucking Wii for the same price of Rock Band. What does I do?!

Ohhhhh yeah, I'm getting that Guitar Hero bundle from yf360g. Return to amazon, use credit to buy it for dat tripple, sell the game, pick up Rock band 2 and rock band 2 drums at hastings. Costs me like nothing out of pocket...... Tempting.

Wow, we've almost one through 4 ggts in here.

Bout to call walmart and see if they'll have a world tour demo set up tonight at the midnight shit. That would be a good chance to try the drums.
