Key word is, might, ninja dog.
He's very selective. ;)
 more like if I'm tired I won't join but if I'm up to it I'll be on... so... uh, might >_
Dead Kennedys first public appearance after 'reforming'?

A press junket at Best Buy.
Ow. That hurts me in my anger bone.
I should play some LBP. It's been atleast a month since I have touched it.
if you haven't gotten the MGS4 pack, then get it, it'll make you glad you came back.

Oh, he will play.
I hearted your SF level, RR.
I was gonna say Damn, that's cold blooded, sean. But then I realized you said "hearted".
That's good.
Like Braid where the first world was really just a teaser. Blown away by the puzzles later on.
If the first world was a teaser in Braid, they did a horrendous job of promoting the game by making that the demo.

Actually I turned it on the day that came out and downloaded it. It was pretty fun, but those last 2 levels got crazy.

don't you want the demo to be a teaser? you know get'em hooked, first ones free, etc. etc.

Nah. Cause if the demo sucks ass but the rest of the game might be alright, I'll never end up playing it. Considering how much I disliked the demo of Braid, maybe if they had given me a demo more indicative of what the "real" game was like, then I wouldn't loathe the game as much.

I'm right with you on that one. Such a horrible game...

I liked Braid ok...I finished it. Just thought some of the puzzles were very obtuse and I'd have never figured them out without gamefaqs.

really? they're more straightforward than most puzzles I find in games. The game is more enjoyable without cheating.

yeah the puzzles werent that hard i figured most of them out fairly quickly
the only one i had to look up was the one in world 2 above the door

Finished up Soul Bubbles today. Pretty slick game, can't argue for almost free.

Debating between getting Chrono Trigger at Best Buy next week for $30 - gift card, or at TRU on the 27th with a 20% coupon and a $10 expiring gift card.

I'm tempted to pick up an Arcade stick, but the 360 ones are shitty. and I'm not insane enough to pick up that SFIV TE stick.

Maybe I'll just pick up that SFIV FightPad. seems reasonable.

I'm buying the $80 SFIV SE stick. It's supposed to be cash.

Maybe the puzzles just took a type of thinking that I'm not used to (perhaps I'm too logical). Braid was the fist game in a long time to have me literally stumped. Usually, even if I'm not *able* to do something, I at least know *what* to do. Some of the Braid puzzles, however, even after viewing the vids I couldnt see how one could have stumbled on that solution.

Zak and Wiki, Prof. Layton were cake. Braid though, had me twisted (see what I did there....)

As the other guy said, maybe I just don't think that way and thing to straightforward and logical.

Many of the puzzles with rewinding fast forwarding to set stuff up to jump off multiple enemies etc. were often things I tried for a long time and don't think I'd ever have figured out on my own.

And part of it is that I just don't enjoy racking my brain with games after long days of research and teaching etc. :D I'd generally rather just fire up an FPS and shoot some shit or a WRPG for some mindless question and exploring.
Yeah N3s not that good, but its free!
So its a hot deal?
$10, that would be pretty wild.
You'll be able to get Underworld for under $30 in fewer than 4 weeks, I'd guess. Your call. I liked the demo of Tomb Raider: Whatever (the first one on 360), as it had a more action-y "let's rip off Prince of Persia" feel to it that really added some needed changes to the gameplay. If the last 2 are similar, it should be enjoyable.

But yeah, $30 if you're patient.

I wish, but I'm in Canada.
Stores actually thought it'd be cool to raise some games to $70.
And its $40 Canadian, so $35 for Tomb Raider+N3.
Everybody still sells it for $60 here.

I'll send you a christmas card this year if you can go a day without mentioning your academic pedigree.

Double Dare Ya.

EDIT: Oh, that's right azumanga. Well, yeah. $40 for the two is good. Leftover money for Tim Horton's.
$10 for Underworld and set N3 on fire.
I like N3...
you pick it up never.
Don't listen to him. It's a good game.
Whether you like these games or not hinges on whether or not you like cute anime girls. If you do, then you'll love it.

The whole game revolves around moe. Even the battle system. You have to protect these cute girls while they cast spells, and to get better spells you need to get closer to them personally. The story isn't anything special because it's not the important factor. Hence why I say the game is aimed directly at guys who like cute, anime girls.

But I agree with him... I said as much. The only reason you should buy this game is if you want to learn more about cute girls. For no other reason should this game be purchased. I said it multiple times.
I'm aware of the main selling point of this series. I still enjoy the games very much. The battle system is a lot of fun, but even that really hinges on you caring about the reyvateils.

I really hate puzzle games, and I took a week break from Braid once I got stuck on alot of the puzzles. once I got back to them everything just clicks.

i finished braid in 3 days and i think i used the powers in world 6 wrong but still beat it as in i didnt get how the power worked until the last 2 puzzles
I put over 200 hours into it on the PS2, but that was because it had online play. I couldn't get into the PSP ones because of the lack of it.
I see.

Actually, I don't

And sorry for dragging the conversation away from N3 and BRAID... hah. I did enjoy the 15 minutes of N3 I played. And BRAID... I haven't played.
What's the deal with the Monster Hunter games? I played the first one back when I had a PSP, and it never really wowed me.
i forget who said it at capcom, but they nailed it perfectly. You don't get that sense of wow factor until you put time into it. The wow factor comes from the sense of accomplishment. I can definitly say this s true. You won't give a shit for the first 5 or 6 hours into it, but after that you are go.

I can def say that it's one of the few games that take both skill and patience, something I wish more games had.

then again, most people nowadays aren't patient so it makes sense people don't stick around through it.

I'm still playing my copy of Freedom II. over 189 hours put in.

wow... this sniper DS game looks neato...

http://www.siliconera.com/2009/01/21/last-bullet-sets-its-sights-on-april/

probably hentai in some form.

My love of the game came from the teamwork you needed to take down the big pray. Yeah, it's cool to kill the big stuff by yourself but that's nothing compared to the feeling of taking something down with 3 other people who know exactly what to do. I think I cried when they shut the servers down. Wyverns cowered in fear when my character arrived on the scene, hammer in her hand.

The game has a steep learning curve, and it takes awhile to get to the epic stuff. That was really the main problem with it.

Your vague answers are making me want to give it another shot. Sadly, I don't have my PSP any more. Maybe it'll be easier to track down a PS2 copy. Maybe. Or maybe I'll find a way to justify a Darth Vader PSP. Probably not... But maybe ;)

I say the PSP versions (at this point since PS2 has no more online) are the best versions to go with. The button controls make the game alot more enjoyable than the analog IMHO.

You still work at GS Rei? Do you know if the stores are only stocking for pre-orders, or do you have an extra copy or two for walk-ins? I guess this is a question for NIS, Atlus, or other possible "niche" or PS2 new-release games in general as well.

Hmm... Well. I guess if I can somehow justify a PSP in the next couple of months, I may take the plunge. For the third time

I won't lie, I miss my 1.5 firmware PSP with Mutant League Football on it
