same....ill pick up RE 4.5 HD cheap on cag the week after it comes out
I plan on getting it when it's cheap too. Maybe a gamestop coupon for used games or something.
Fallout 3 DLC tomorrow, and then DJ Max Fever the day after!
So DJ Max is finally coming out.

I foresee my self grabbing it this week as well :D
Fallout 3 DLC tomorrow, and then DJ Max Fever the day after!
! DJMF snuck up on me. Anyone want to trade their English version for my Korean original?

Ok, I've definitely dogged on GTAIV a little bit for it's bad qualities, but the bank robbery mission was probably the best one I've played in a GTA game so far.

I've survived day one back at school. Why people would get shit faced tonight perplexes me beyond belief...

In any case, I'm pumped for the new Phantasy Star game coming out on the DS. Here's a link to the thread if anyone's interested who hasn't already checked it out: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=196691&page=3
Someone on the second page posted a link to his CAG blog with a hands on review. Here's a link to the blog: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/blog.php?username=seannola

It sounds really sick. I can't wait to see what the future holds for the game. Like the potential for voice chat :D

I just watched a whole bunch of trailers for Yakuza 3.

Hot damn! It's coming out in Japan at the end of Feb!

Hope it gets released here soon........-_-
So what's the verdict on the RE5 demo?
1000% better in co-op than single player. Like pretty much every co-op game.

Unless my friend gets it, I'll pass for now and wait for a cheaper copy.

Flower
Noby Noby Boy
Retro Game Challenge
Demon's Souls
Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection
Killzone 2

Not sure what else I could be missing.
So what's the verdict on the RE5 demo?
I posted about it last night, but I played some more after that so here are my thoughts. Bear in mind this is only on single player, still need to try out the co-op.

1. Looks great
2. Plays just like RE4 with an added AI/co-op parter
3. The Knife seems awfully weak, I don't recall it being so weak in RE4.
4. As with RE4 for me, the game is a bit too difficult. I really wish the RE games had difficulty settings as I'd have no shame in playing on Easy.

So basically, if you loved RE4 you'll probably love RE5. If you didn't , then RE5 isn't going to change your mind.

I thought RE4 was so-so, so I won't be buying it. Buy my friend who is moving in soon loves the series, so he may pick it up and want to do Co-op which I'd be up for.
What's everyone looking forward to in February?
I'd like to start Chrono Trigger and actually muscle through some of Fallout 3's story.

I feel like I've hit the point where I don't want to buy new games until I can't stand the current games I'm juggling. And I just don't see that being a bad thing

As for February.

I'll be playing TWENY if I can get into and don't quit before the, playing The Shivering Isles and then moving on to Fable II which I just received from Goozex.

Possibly RE5 if my friend/roommate picks it up as noted above. Also want FEAR 2, but not willing to pay $60 for it. SFIV is a no go as I don't much dig fighters enough any more, much less enough to have to buy the game and a stick/pad to play it since the 360 dpad is useless.

That's absolutely the way to go. I've been doing that this gen--not building a back long other than sometimes having a couple games I got off Goozex waiting in the wings.

It's stupid to have a backlog of games you won't play for a long time as they would have just gotten cheaper if you'd waited and bought them when you had time to play them. And I enjoy gaming more when I can take my time with the game(s) I'm currently playing and not feel like I need to rush through them to get on to the pile of unplayed games sitting in the shelf staring at me.

February is short.

Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon

That is all.

Edit: I forgot about Burnout Paradise DLC, so that too.

The only game I'm definitely picking up is Street Fighter 4. I might pick up Onechanbara and Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection.
X-Blades Rei?
How much is that game, full price?
I'm pretty sure it's full price.

Remember that I get all my games 15% off, and I have the option of trying each one before I buy it.

Hope it gets released here period--the previous two did pretty poorly in the US.
What's everyone looking forward to in February?
Killzone 2
SFIV
SFIV TE Stick
RE5

Are my "must buys". I'm interested in Star Ocean and some others, but I'll hold off on those. I'm trying not to buy so much day one stuff anymore.

I will probably also import Yakuza 3 since it's future in the US is in doubt, too.
4. As with RE4 for me, the game is a bit too difficult. I really wish the RE games had difficulty settings as I'd have no shame in playing on Easy.
I agree it was on the more difficult side. Having that annoying inventory management didn't help, either. I did enjoy the game overall though, so I'll be getting 5. At minimum, I think the co-op will be a blast.

Killzone 2 is the big one.

If I had a 360 I'd get Star Ocean. If I had a Wii I'd get HOTD.

Otheriwse, not much. I kind of want FEAR 2, but I think I can wait on it.

I loved RE4, played the hell out of it. I don't know if it's the fact that I've played Gears now or what, but I'm not loving RE5.

Played Killzone on my PS3 last night, Had a blast even though there were times that I couldn't believe i died.

Me pumping him full of lead point blank with a Gatling gun, then him doing one shotgun blast, and I die...
RE5 (Though it's technically March, gunm)
Oh yeah...ooops.

Last I saw, Last Hope was scheduled for next month. I gotta hold off on that just knowing what happened to the last two SE 360 RPGs, price-wise.

Sega Genesis collection for PS3 might be cool, but I have that one that came out for PSP--what's the difference?
Wait, Star Ocean comes out next month?
Sheeeit.
I thought it came out in March? Oh well, I'll be hold off on getting it anyway I was pretty disappointed in the last Star Ocean. And I also have some other RPGs I'd like to get to first.

Also, I'll be getting SF4 on the 360 so I can play with my friend.

More games. The Streets of Rage games being the biggest addition.
I thought it came out in March?
I see it listed as Feb. 24th, but...
Well, SO4 will probably hit $40 really quickly, maybe even before it's released ala Last Remnant so it won't hurt so much.
That's exactly what I'm afraid of, too. Hence, I'm also gonna hold off on it. I'd probably pick it up for $40 or less...I like triAce's recent stuff.
More games. The Streets of Rage games being the biggest addition.
I figured as much, but didn't know what games. Streets of Rage is good, does it have the other two as well? Bah, now I gotta look it up. >_

Yeah, that's my real gripe too I guess. If they're going to make the series an action series were your facing waves of enemies, then it's time to scrap the tank controls and limited ammo and just make it a full on 3rd person action game like Gears.

It's not scary anymore, so there's really no justification for having clunky controls (to make it harder to get away) limited ammo (to make it more tense) etc. etc. So they really need to either make it a full action game with good controls, or revert the next game more back to the survival horror genre.

Meh, series just not my cup of tea I guess. I've played a few of the games over the years (RE1, REmake, Code Veronica and RE4) but they were all games I just liked rather than loved.

Oh, I forgot about the last two 360 games square put out... more of a reason I'll probably hold off for a while.

Personally I'd like RE to go back to pre-rendered backgrounds and tank controls. I loved RE4, and I liked the RE5 demo, but I miss the old school RE games.

Not me, I'm liking the standard set by RE4--no desire to go back for me.

Actually, here we go:

There might be other secret ones too I think:

Phantasy Star (SEGA Master System)
