Fighting game dude. Two Questions:

(1) What do Guilty Gear games play like? I'm trying to get an idea of how Blazblue will feel and if I should bother getting excited (it looks nice)... I hate the name, though... :whistle2:?

(2) What the hell is the BR for on Tekken 6?
(1) Err... fast? You have to try it for yourself.

(2) Bloodline Rebellion

BlazBlue looks super dee duper cool. :bouncy:
woah. what a difference - I had no idea it was like that. FWIW, the PS3 Fighting Stick *is* the same thing, but it ain't selling anywhere close to that on eBay. Best deal there is $60-65 + S&H, so I'm not lowballing to the degree you think I am.

Lemme find the product page on GS' website.

http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?sku=802608
nothing close, dr. my kevermin.
I'll have her ask him tomorrow, but I can't guarantee anything better than a "fuck off." He's out in the boonies so I don't know where this mall is relative to him.

LinkedIn = professional networking site
woo-woo! thanks for the offer; feel free to pm me with a "he got it" or "he said fuck off."

Eh, I'll check again too *looks* nothing within 100 miles, LAME!

EDIT: Decided to check at my old Cali zip too for shits n' giggles, this is what came up:

- Jess Ranch Mrktplc
- Main and McFadden

If you know anybody in Barstow, Yermo or Newberry Springs then you can give them a call.
Never played a GG game... how does GG (and maybe Blazblue, then?) compare to other fighting games?
I guess the simplest way to say it is that it's "more complicated" than other fighting games due to the different types of offensive and defensive moves available to the player. In addition to standard attack/counter attack play, there are reversals and cancels from both attack and recovery states. Maybe more than other games, GG, particularly the later iterations, is a timing/anticipation game. I still don't really understand how advanced players play the game.

(1). Guilty Gear is pretty crazy. It's really technical. The mechanics are pretty deep, but I don't usually rely on the high level stuff personally. It's pretty flashy, not quite Marvel level flashy, but more than any Street Fighter. All of the characters are pretty unique too. No army of shotos in it, or people that play similar. BlazBlue supposedly takes that last one to a new level, though I haven't played it. Read the Guilty Gear XX Accent Core wiki page on SRK if you really want to know more.

If you are really curious, you could track down a copy of Guilty Gear. Just don't play GG Isuka for PS2. Gamestop has Guilty Gear X2 #Reload for Xbox for $6 used, and it's playable on 360.

(2). The BR stands for Bloodline Rebellion, the latest update for the arcade version of Tekken 6. It added 2 new characters, gameplay balances and tweaks, new backgrounds, etc. It's also what the home version will be based on.

I just read in Game Informer that there's gonna be close to 50 fighters in Tekken 6. That's a little crazy.

Also, kudos to GI for finally giving a rating below a 6. They gave Ready 2 Rumble a 1
Who was worried it wasn't coming?
Me.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bouncy::bouncy::bouncy:
Me.

Me too. I had this horrible, nagging feeling every time I saw the game that it wouldn't come out in the here.

Absolutely, 100%, DAY fuckING ONE!!!
I love how Gears 2 is finally playable!

:whee:
What did they fix, besides all the fuct up glitches I never really came across people using (except maybe the melee through walls)?

I know they changed the ranking system... does adding bots when people drop make that big of a difference?

:whee:
give it a few days and I'm sure people will be back to their old tricks. :)
MP Patch?
Yes.

They fixed a ton of stuff that really irked me. Too much to list. It plays more like Gears 1 now. I haven't played with any bots since no has dropped since it takes away from EXP now. :whee:

:)
So Gears is worth playing online now?
It won't take an hour to find a single match?
They fixed that a long time ago with TU1. This is TU3 now.

Do you have to buy the snowblind map pack to get all of these newfangled gears features?

I read somewhere that to get the new ranking feature you need to buy it.

Also haven't played gears in a while, although I did enjoy playing with friends when it just came out.

Someone gave you mis-information.

The patch with all the new features is up now for free.

The map pack comes out next week.

You only need the map pack to get some achievements.

See this Capcom? This is what you need to do for SFIV rage quitters.

Yup.

Grr, I want a game so I can take advantage of the 10 dollar coupon from TRU + my RE5 gift card, but there's nothing I really want.
your schtick is tired like my vocabulary is mighty.
I think so too, so I'm changing my gimmick to coloring quoted text with pink.

...

Much better!:lol::lol::lol:

I like pink things.
My perception of color is probably just more advanced than yours.

Or the colors on my computer are way off :p

Can you imagine doing a poll for this question?

"What is THIS color? Your choices are:
1. Hot Pink
2. Purple
3. Magenta
4. Green"
:lol::lol: I bet a Flame war would erupt between the purple voters and the green voters.

Then don't.

The new stuff in the DSi seem mostly useless. I wanted it for awhile due to said useless features, but then realized they aren't worth the extra money...or any money at all :D
I don't have the heart to trade in my DS Phat towards a DSi.
One glance at your games on the new screen will change that(if you don't have a Lite already, that is). You will be losing out on the GBA support if you pick the DSi over the Lite though. The added features don't seem to be worth the extra $$$ over the Lite.

Yeah, the Lite is definitely the way to go. The people who get a DSi are probably people who just like having new things or have a lot of money to spend.
Yeah, the Lite is definitely the way to go. The people who get a DSi are probably people who just like having new things or have a lot of money to spend.
Yeah... well...

Actually, I really am interested in the DSi Ware titles. This is my number one reason for wanting one. I bought my sister a DS Lite some time ago, but never felt the need to upgrade for the beautiful screens alone.
Some of the Japanese games I've seen for download look amazing.
The DSi won't go down in price any time soon, so I'll have to bite at some point.

Losing the GBA BC doesn't worry me. I much prefer to play those either on the GC player or on my Micro.
I actually hear you'll be able to download GBA/GBC games. I may do that for GBC games.

I'll keep my DS Phat.
I need one for local multiplayer.

DSi Ware's only available through the DS' online store, right? I seriously doubt you'll be able to get there without a japanese DSi cause Nintendo just loves its region locks.

Don't buy that Red 360 either!
Or do it, and trade me for my black one.

Have you beat RE5 yet? Playing alone? (oh wait, I think you got PS3 version)
Right, but I do expect them to come over to the US store at some point.
Eh... maybe... depends on the DSi Ware game I suppose.
