RE5 is so bad ass. Being focused on co-op is no problem for me, since I'm always hanging with a friend. 2 copies of RE5, 2 TVs, and 2 360s is a recipe for complete fucking addcition.

great sig material:

RE5 is a fucking fantastic game. We're on our third time though in co-op. You people who don't have any friends to play it with are the problem. I can't think of a better co-op console game ever.

Ah, right, I forgot. When we don't enjoy a game you do, it's our problem for whatever reason you can think of. Gotcha.

On a serious note though, even if I were to play with someone, I'd worry just as much about my partner fucking up. Want other reasons as to why? Look through the past few pages.

the coop is just a minor problem for me...the real problem is that it just a boring, bland, non-scary game....The only parts i enjoyed were the Wesker fights

Resident Evil was never a scary game.

And other than the first two, every one before 4 was a bland, boring, non-scary game.

At least this one is fun.

RE1 = cool

RE2 = not rly scary but fun

RE3 = same, liked how Nemesis jumped outta nowhere with a rocket launcher

RE4 = what is this? A Tom Crusie movie?...ah but he didnt bone the chick. Gameplay was solid, hated the story, the modes were cool.

RE5 = go away Sheva, *yawn* this game done yet? so boring, Countdown Vampires was better than this shit (and that was shit)

again, these are just my opinions.

I don't think RE5 was ever designed to be a horror adventure. It was meant to be a co-op action game to appeal to the Western audience. And yeah, beyond the first one, I can't think of a truly "scary" RE.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion on whether or not they like the game, of course.
so i started adding games to my cag collection and stopped once i realized it didn't have all games or lots of the older games :(
You can submit them yourself.

I haven't updated my IGN list in at least a year, but CAG's collection list is a lot easier to add stuff with when it's in the database. I can just type keywords so that games come up quickly and then just click the "add to collection" to add the games I have without messing with the way adding games on IGN worked at that point.
You can submit them yourself.
After I submitted a few games, I was like, no thanks.

lol.

You however, can submit them yourself.

Start with all the NES games.

Thanks!

personally, either gears of war shits all over RE5 for coop for me.

Just finished up God of War 2 yesterday. The absence of my 360 has piqued my PS2 interest again, to the point that today I traded in my fat launch PS2 for a brand new slimline. The old PS2 had to go after I discovered it couldn't play PS1 games anymore.

With the RE5 talk here, is RE4 for the PS2 worth picking up? My roommate had it for Gamecube back in college but I could never get into it. I'm worried that if I get into my PS2 again, my already large back log of 360 games could grow that much larger.

I haven't had any issues with the IGN database, so yeah, I'll wait until Frisky uploads all the games into the CAG one too, lol. ;)

The database can't handle anything older than PS1 or Game Boy, so just focus on adding those that you have that aren't in the database yet. If you refuse to do the work, you could probably convince a few people with swag to do your dirty work for you. ;)

Hehe...I guess if you are trying to do old-school games, it would be a pain since there are so many that aren't in the database. I've only bothered adding games from last gen and this gen (mainly just collector's editions that weren't in the database)

I figure over time people will add the older games.

Crysis is so good. Well it was really good before getting to the alien ship. I'm liking it a little less in the frozen tundra.

Playing on hard is the shit, though. It's like halo on legendary, painful, but fun.

I kinda want to play warhead on hard after this again.

And Halo 2 on Vista sucks. It's all stuttery and choppy. I read on the forums that it's because modern machines run it too fast and that makes it choppy. Looks real pretty though. It was worth the $10 to get achievements in Halo 2.

Halo was never fun, you monster.

After picking up Resistance 2 again, I am actually enjoying the single player, not sure where the story is going and I miss the co-op single, but I am enjoying the first few levels when compared to the first few levels of Killzone 2.

Wah Wah Halo sucks. It was a great game at the time. Not so good going back to it, but I dare you to find a modern FPS that doesn't crib from it extensively.

I suppose you're right. If I had to say it took one thing it might be vehicle sections, or expanding on the "in the world" type physics thing, but yeah, Valve does their own thing, and they do it really, really well.

But comparing the static game world of Half-Life 1 with the physics based world of Half-Life 2, that's something that was really only common after Halo did it with so many objects and characters being movable and physics based. It's a tenuous link, but that's about as close as you could come to linking the two.

It's more plausible that Halo expanded on Half Life's advances in AI and scripting.

Dunno man. I played Halo 2 multiplayer a little sometime shortly after it came out and was like "Eh. This is Halo? This is why everyone loves xbox?" I decided to actually play through Halo 3 since a CAG hooked me up with it cheap. Hated the campaign, hated the multiplayer. I don't understand why people like it so damn much, really. There's much better things out there (at least compared to Halo 3, where most of my experience lies).

I always figured that the same people who really, really, really loved Halo were the same people who really, really, really loved Madden and such.

There's really no connection between Halo and Madden other than some false perception of "every popular game is for stupid jocks"

Someday I'll beat FFXII

For now though, I'm going to start Dark Sector.

Maybe Battlefield Bad Company. Anyone have any opinions on it? Mainly single player...also does online have a party system?
Someday I'll beat FFXII
Me too, probably when I'm 60! I started it though like two or three years ago. I'll end up starting from scratch because I won't know where I'm at in the story or game.

This coming from the guy with a Gears of War avatar.

Generic super-hero space marines, generic war for humanity's survival versus an alien threat, generic vehicle sections, generic multiplayer.

But also phenomenal graphics, well-tuned cover system, and a collection of inventive "OH SHIT" moments. (The first meeting with a Beserker comes to mind.)

Not to bash either, since I really have enjoyed the Halo series and Gears of War series, but every argument you just made against Halo can be made against Gears of War. Or any other FPS for that matter.

I traded in my Dark Sector for 2.50.

I don't get that. I can't understand when people trade in games for such little money. I would just keep it.
Dark Sector was actually pretty fun. I paid about $25 a while back, and traded it for the same :cool:

So I took the time to download the Home updates, since I haven't tried it since I first got my PS3, and I thought there'd be something cool and different waiting for me.

I'm a sucker.

It covered tax on Saints Row 2.

I played 3 levels of the game and got to mess with the glaive, and that was all I wanted out of the game. It was just wasting drawer space.

Besides, I got the game free for buying GTAIV at BB.

Halo was mad cool when I was in 6th grade and was that stereotypical squeaky voiced bitch that everyone hates. Now that I've reversed roles, the game is no fun.
