This thread got real depressing real fast. I'm not sure why there still needs to be such a dichotomy.

Gilbert Arenas sponsors a professional Halo 3 team and was caught boosting his rank.
Nate Robinson saluted to the camera during a game to prove that he played CoD4
Vin Diesel has played Dungeons and Dragons for twenty years.
Curt Shilling retired from baseball and opened his own game development company.

Can we talk about games again now?

Man, all you guys who stereo-type people and label them as you did, are just as bad as the jocks who picked on you at school or what ever reason they gave you for hating them. I'm not a jock, and I guess I break every stereotypical label because of the clothes I wear, games I play, sports I play, attitude, and groups I hang out with. And I'm sure there's plenty of people out there as well that are the same.

I don't mean to be a dick, but some of you need to grow up. I understand most meathead jocks out there are morons who try to bully the weak nerdy kids, and are complete idiots, but seriously, labeling all jocks as dumb assholes, makes you look just as dumb and shallow as them. If it's all in jest, then cool, but I'm sure not all of it is.
I'm about halfway through Dark Sector I think.

Reminds me a lot of RE5...except it's better.

I'm working my way thru Dark Sector too. I was playing it last night and drinking Bacardi with Coke. Why is it that just about any game is more fun when you're drunk? The only thing now is I just tried to play it a little while ago and totally forgot what the hell I was doing. Hmm...maybe alcohol will help me remember...

Also, I started SMT Nocturne this morning. Its a fun little RPG.

@ what I started.

Anyway, hopefully I can finish GTA4 in the next couple days. Had it since launch, and now I've become obsessed with finishing it.

Jocks still suck btw.

Hopefully you'll stop getting picked on one day. ;)
I too have had GTA 4 since it came out and am probably only half way done. I'd like to finish it asap, but I have a backlog.
sweet! totally perfect timing... I'm done with my finals tomorrow and after that I'm genna rape that X Blades contest cheapy posted.
I look forward to your entry. So far they have been...disappointing. Also, crunch time this semester is killing me. Damn computer engineering classes. *grumble* *grumble*

Drinking makes gaming by yourself 100x more fun, if a bit more unproductive. The first time I played the Persona 3 final boss I was...a bit buzzed. And I got my ass handed to me, despite the fact that the next night I played sober and breezed through it.

I have literally the last mission to do and I just couldn't bring myself to do it because of distractions. I have to choose one of the two endings and I just sort of forgot about it. With all this talk, and with my 360 coming back, perhaps it's time to put it to rest.
This coming from the guy with a Gears of War avatar.

Generic super-hero space marines, generic war for humanity's survival versus an alien threat, generic vehicle sections, generic multiplayer.

But also phenomenal graphics, well-tuned cover system, and a collection of inventive "OH SHIT" moments. (The first meeting with a Beserker comes to mind.)

Not to bash either, since I really have enjoyed the Halo series and Gears of War series, but every argument you just made against Halo can be made against Gears of War. Or any other FPS for that matter.
Yes, the multiplayer of GoW was totally generic.

If you wait you'll get less for it. The closer you sell something to a piece of electronics' release the more resell value you can get for it.

Only the version with the trial is limited.
Limited in that they'll stop those once the game is released.

ACC will always be on sale.

okay, I guess as long as they haven't said they're only printing a 1000 of them or something.

not necessarily...

I'm genna get something done, don't know how much effort I'll put into it, but i don't think it'll be too hard.
You ever get your copy, d? I've seen the vids, but like to know what other people think of the actual gameplay.
YesAsia took their sweet old time changing my status from 'ready to be shipped' to 'shipped'.
Hopefully I'll get it this weekend.

Save for a few pictures, I haven't seen anything about it.
I also bookmarked a couple translations of it.

My DS has kept me happily waiting.
I just want it sooner so I can sell off the movie.
Questions:

1. Is DarthPuma really 11 years old?
2. Why was JFD banned? Perm?
I'm 16.

More Saints Row 2 tonight. The insurance fraud missions are stupid fun.

Asshole! When I get out of this locker, I'm going to hack into your school records and change your GPA!!

. . .not that that would help, since you'll get into whatever college you want to based on your ballin' skillz alone.
http://blogs.sega.com/usa/2009/04/20/valkyria-chronicles-sales-jump-in-the-us-tops-charts-in-japan/

I like how they attribute the increase to support from Sega and Valkyria fans when the real reason is that the price has sunk below $40 for the first time in the past two weeks.
Kinda sad that there was a good amount of interest in the game, but no one was willing to pay MSRP for it. Even me--I bought the game when it came out, but with a combo of holiday discounts and credits tied in. :p
Wedgies are so 80's. :nottalking:
Agreed. A kick to the groin is both more modern and much more effective.:lol::lol:

Pawn shop score! Added more to my PS2 RPG backlog today. Picked up .hack/Infection (part 1) and Valkyrie Profile 2 both used for $8 bucks apiece. Both in great condition too, except .hack has no instructions.

I've taken a break from PS2 RPGs since I beat Xenosaga Ep III a couple months ago, but today I started back into the backlog and picked out SMT Nocturne after playing about 15 minutes of both FF XII and DQ VIII. Wasn't thrilled about the wierdness of FFXII's combat, and the story in DQ VIII didn't grab me, so I settled on Nocturne.

I think I made a good choice, as I am really enjoying the depth of the game. The only other SMT games I've played have been Persona 3 and 4, so having some of the demons and spells and stuff being familiar is a plus.

I wasted like 20 minutes this morning using Search to figure out who suggested something to me, but I can't find the post. I was having trouble with my PS3 corrupting save files of PS2 games, and the person suggested I make a new virtual memory card instead of using one imported from a PS2 memory card, and it worked. Thanks anonymous poster!
I want it for every reason you can think of.
That looks kinda cool, actually.
I recognize the chick from Xenosaga, but I don't really know anyone else... am I supposed to? :whistle2:s

Since I know there's some Zone of the Enders fans here in the GGT:

...it looks like their may still be a chance for a third Zone of the Enders title. In the latest episode of the Metal Gear Solid Integral podcast, the crew at Kojima Productions talk extensively about the franchise. They know that Zone of the Enders is a popular series amongst the diehard Kojima fans, but they question "How many people really want Zone of the Enders a sequel?", putting emphasis on the casual gamers, rather than the hardcore ones. The discussion ends with Aki Saito saying "if there's so many people wanting to see Zone of the Enders, why not put the priority on top, a little further up, you know, but we just want to know.", encouraging listeners to "make sure you write your comments and we'll check your comments out".

Let your voices be heard over at Kojima's blog:

Personally, I have yet to play any of the ZoE games, but I have only heard good things about them.
