The MST3K guys are in town for two nights (tonight and Saturday) for a live show.
I'm wondering if I should go for it.

It's a pretty nice theater, but they don't say which movie they'll be riffing...
Any particular kind of game or genre your looking for a game in? It'd be easier to make a recommendation knowing what your looking for.

I really don't know since I'm open to suggestions... anything but shmup I guess lol

k after reading the gaf thread and this post in particular

So listen to this story. I was in the early levels; I didn't quite have an idea of how ridiculously in-depth the database was. I was summoning things like ladders, glasses of water, rayguns, what have you. But I reached a level with zombie robots, and the zombie robots kept killing me. Rayguns didn't work, a torch didn't work, a pickaxe didn't work. In my frustration, I wrote in "Time Machine". And one popped up. What the fuck? A smile dawned on my face. I hopped in, and the option was given to me to either travel to the past or the future. I chose past. When I hopped out, there were fucking dinosaurs walking around. I clicked one, and realized I could RIDE THEM. So I hopped on a fucking DINOSAUR, traveled back to the present, and stomped the shit out of robot zombies. Did you just read that sentence? Did you really? I fuckING TRAVELED THROUGH TIME AND JUMPED ON A DINOSAUR AND USED IT TO KILL MOTHERfuckING ROBOT ZOMBIES. This game is unbelievable. Impossible. There's nothing you can't do.

im sold on scribblenauts and it'll be the 1st ds game im preording and picking up on day 1

Rolento, you will get Super Metroid for your Wii.
OR ELSE! Grr...

I know people are getting high on Assassin's Creed 2 and Splinter Cell, but I would suggest not to rush out day 1 and get them. Ubisoft is notorious for very, very quick price cuts on their games. For the last 2 years, their marquee titles (Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed) were cut to $40 2-3 weeks after their release.

If playing video games (especially infamous) feels like work, you're doing it wrong.

It's definitely not. Thats just my way of saying "play". Maybe its a subconscious thing to justify not reading a book or studying a language or something.

Congrats, JSP.

I got my hood and gown last week in the mail, graduation ceremony is next Friday.

There's no better feeling than thinking "I'm a Ph.D., and I can't figure out how to put this motherfucking hood on to save my life. Is this the last puzzle? If I can't do it, I don't graduate?"

Seriously. Thing's a fucking nightmare.

I wanna do some gaming today, but I'm too busy grading. And I caught my first plagiarizer this week. Yuck.

congrats graduates....I swore off school after I was done and now I am going back for 18 months :whistle2:( oh well.....ill be done after I get my A & P license...i promise ;)

Doesnt that create a ton of paper work for you?

I still haven't downloaded the Uncharted beta, even though I have a code

Congrats Preston!

Since there are no PS3 games that I care about coming out till fall, I'm halfway considering spending my hastings credit on a used PSP. I've wanted another one ever since my last one broke, and PSP 2000's are only like 115. I'm gonna go by today and see if they're in decent condition. Stupid Kojima and his potentially awesome PSP MGS.

yep. been around enough lazy folks who say "fuck it" and just shrug their shoulders. i'm not that person. but, sorry seanr, can't go into much more detail, y'know.

Those GoWIII gifs are

I just watched the Super Mario Bros. Wii trailer from E3. (w/ the multiplayer) I have to say this because its been tearing me up inside. I love Mario, but damn, this Super Mario Bros. Wii felt souless, like a souless Little Big Planet wannabe. Just looking at the first stage, looking so reminiscent of the original Super Mario Bros. made me feel like they were just raping the franchise (whereas I should have been feeling nostalgic). I just wish that the game would take us some place different. That's what I enjoyed so much about Super Mario Land on the gameboy, it was someplace totally different. It added new elements (plane flying) to the game, and that's why I loved it. New Super Mario, kinda revitalized the series for me... it felt nostalgic, but Seeing this Super Mario Bros Wii, I have to admit it disgusted me.
Seemed like it was copying Little Big Planet w/ the multiplayer portion.

I'm sorry, I just needed to get that shit off my chest.

You are the worst.

If they price it at $50, there's a valid complaint there.

As a $30 budget title I think it's a great idea and would be really, really fun. To say that putting the 2 player mode from NSMB DS on Wii where you can do 4 players on one screen is ripping off little big planet either just shows ignorance of the source material, or an over eagerness to praise Sony product. I'm going to go with all of the above.

I think it looked like a lot of fun and a game that my roomates and I could sit around and have a great time playing. And one that they were actually intersted in unlike Little Big Planet when I had my PS3, which they just laughed at and wouldn't even try.

I think that says more about your roommates than either game.

OMG, they're charging 30 for the game... That just Nintendo's way of saying, this is some crap that we just put together. I mean, damn New Super Mario Bros, was 39.99 at launch, and has only priced drop 5 DOLLARS and is at 34.99. (and still very much worth it!)

You are like TMK without references.

If people laugh at LBP and don't want to give it a shot, that's their loss.

NSMWii is $30? That's rather staggering, since it's contrary to the "separate the fool from their money" model of profitability for Nintendo.

Admittedly I didn't play too much LBP multiplayer, but it didn't seem like a game where you could accomplish much mayhem. You could grab the other guy... maybe push him. NSMB, you've got shells, fire flowers, you can throw people, etc.

And whats the source on NSMBW at $30? That doesn't sound like something they'd ever do. That's throwing away $20 for every copy sold.

Hey - Super Mario Galaxy was full of soul, brak.

I don't know that NSMBWii is $30, but it'd be nice if it was. It'll probably be $50 but that's a whole other problem with Nintendo. (barring a huge amount of content that makes it worth that)

NSMB launched at $34.99 and stayed there. That's what happens when you make a quality product that people want to keep buying as they buy your hardware. Maybe nintendo would have been smarter to leave all that money on the table. Sony seems to be good at that, what with the plethora of PSN PSone releases.

Thanks for addressing my complaints with your points. I'll consider your thoughtful rebuttal and get back to you.

You are - the worst.

And that's Thomas96. Brak is a pretty cool dude. I like watching the spy's head explode again and again..

whatever, enjoy your soulless NSMEISIS Wii garbage.

Edit 1 - You know what I am - The Worst.. You know why? Because I'm not going to let Nintendo just milk me over and over again for the same game. They're number one, this gen, they got the greatest franchises, but look what the fuck they're doing to them. Its like I'm watching that episode of South Park where they were raping Indiana Jones, except this time its mario w/ the Nintendo Execs - (damn that Reggie and his "power game") What's worst, you supposedly love nintendo soooo much, (that you got mario in your avatar) and yet you can agree with me that this NSMBW is souless if its priced at 50, but at 30, then its okay. WTF?!!! Mario Bros is the flag ship product, it needs to be good enough where one would be more than willing to pay full price, and goo enough, where when you pay that full price you KNOW you got your money's worth.

You wanna kiss Nintendo' ass? If you like it, then go ahead and let Nintendo rape your as...errr, I guess its too late, cause you're already gaping over anything Nintendo releases for you.

Now I know how Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny felt when their childhood hero was raped.. damn shame.

You're the worst.. you'd see Mario soul (and ass) for 30 dollar. [I hope it was worth it]

Your rose-colored glasses have tinted your understand of Nintendo's business model.

Then, Nintendo has the nerve... to show a goddam Pulse sensor as their new "revolutionary" peripheral. - Wii Vitality Sensor. Nintendo, is so good that they could probably sell virtua boy peripherals to people... I think they realize their ONLY mistake w/ that product was its color. Should have made it White! - White Plastic!

And yet Suda51 was supposedly looking at it and thinking about a way to maybe work that into NMH2 , or possibly into another game. No matter how retarded some of the devices for the wii have been (pulse sensor , balance board , motion plus) , give people the right idea and tools , and someone can make something good or interesting out of it.

I haven't seen what the vitality sensor looks like yet, but I'm imagining someone's going to get their dick stuck in one at some point. Question is: will it be during a game where that is the intended use or not?

I love this little rental shop by my house. 20.00 a month for one game or movie at a time, it's within walking distance, and they'll HOLD rentals for me. When Wolverine comes back they're going to call :whee:

Where do I find the ports I should be opening to speed up XBL downloads? Everything I find online is telling people how to fix their NAT problem, which I don't have. Strangely, my router seems to have automatically set up some port forwarding for XBL.
This is crazy.
Anybody here watch Weeds? I'm working through the 3rd season and its so great.
Weeds is a very good show. Good mix of dark comedy with some plot. The next season starts sometime in June too I think.

Showtime in general has impressed me, as Weeds and Dexter are too of my favorite shows on tv. (the shifted season times are nice too)
Is Bullet Witch worth $5? Is there a demo?
I didn't think it was. I picked it up for $5 a while ago and traded it in almost immediately. Gamestop gave me $10 for it so at least something good came out of it.
