Any GGTers want to join a PSN gameshare group? I'm going to be buying Fat Princess and I'll give it if you get Pixel Junk Shooter and vice versa for future content.

(I keep getting a bunch of CAG Newbs messaging me on the Game Share thread...)

Why not just gather up some pals and share each game equally? Vote on what is bought, then you just pitch in however much the cost is divided by five. 9.99 games are 2 bucks, 4.99 games are a buck, etc etc. That way nobody feels left out. Just have whoever is the head of the group purchase the games while the others shoot the account holder their share for it.

I'd be down.
I'd be down, preferably for the group thing like TFN mentioned.
I think the Elite suit is like a level 3 or 5 suit. I forget. It also has slots maxed out. It's really good, but sort of cheating.
I see. Well I have enough money to buy a level 3 suit, so I'll just keep the elite suit. I need to cheat because the game scares me too much :)
I'm "stuck" because I'm at a spot with low ammo, but I can just backtrack to the store and buy lots. I'm actually on chapter 8 though.
It's kinda easy (possibly because I have the elite suit).

I bought Resistance: Retribution, Patapon 2 and Infamous all new for $55 TOTAL. I'm legit :cool:

Well just found out my wii is one of the launch consoles that can't play dual layered disks :bomb: I'll get my same console back from Nintendo if I send it to them right? I have a lot of vc and wiiware games I wouldn't be too happy losing them since they're tied to the console.

Got to play the 3rd Naruto fighting game for the Wii recently...it's alright, I guess. I liked the 4th GCube game better. The Wii version has all these boxes and obstacles and shit on the field, so if you get caught next to one when trying to dodge or run, you auto take cover behind it, which kinda fucks you.

Plus, you get sooooo much chakra when you get hit now, making combos extremely hard to pull off. Too lame.
I saw something about a special edition release in PAL territories. That is pretty lame.
I don't recall a special edition, I do know they got more content than we did.

Conduit- Yes please.

Feels like playing an N64 -era shooter. In a good way. Multiplayer even was kinda fun. Simple, but fun, and structurally sound.

Picked up Point Lookout w/my existing points, but might end up starting Red Faction Guerilla while I wait for the DL.

Will also update to 2.8 PS3.

Someone explain to me what is different between N64 FPS's and modern FPS's, other than ugly graphics. I loved Goldeneye and Perfect Dark back in the day, but I don't think they really possessed anything ultra-unique that modern games lack. So I assume people are invoking their names because they were the last FPS's that were OK for a Nintendo fan to like.

Oh it gets compared to N64 shooters?
Jer has been the first to mention that that I've seen.
That's a shame if true though since... well, they were all mostly nothing.

The game doesn't even look like it's worth a rental to me.

For some reason it has that Goldeneye/PD feel to it in the single player. Which is still fun, but nothing new. Part of it is pacing and level design - I think FPS games are easily split between pre-Half Life and post-Half Life. This is very pre. Segmented levels, very few set pieces or interactive story, and enemies that aren't really very smart, and more focus on action than puzzles.

I think it could have used a little more of that simple stealth/freedom in the design. Guess they were trying to get the controls/tech right first. Maybe the sequel will be a bit better/more varied. It's easier to forgive it on their first try.

They controlled with one analog stick.

...

and they were some of the first party FPS games for console fans. Imagine the gaming opium dens in your dorm/neighborhood that sit around and play Halo all freaking day and replace it with Golden Eye.

I can't imagine anyone who didn't grow up on the games would feel particularly excited about them though. They don't have shit on modern games, aside from robust multiplayer options.

If I were the Conduit devs, I'd feel like I was getting a backhanded compliment if people said my game felt like a N64 shooter.
I know.

That's why I traded her in for a new and better mom.
What's the TiV on your mom?

I have never played Goldeneye. But I LOVED Perfect Dark as a kid, sp and multi, and I loved the multiplayer modes from Conker--I was jacked they removed them from whatever the xbox version was called.

I couldn't believe it. They made the game on the N64.
4 player Turok and 4 player Conker were some of the best times of my life.
I loved those FPS games, but sucked so hard at them. Took me an embarrassing amount of time to get the hang of the N64 controller and grasp the idea of 3D gameplay. When I went back to gaming after the PS2, Xbox, and gamecube came out, I took one look at the GC controller and decided Nintendo had no idea how to make a regular fucking controller. I don't have issues with either controller nowadays though.

My Middle School/High School Years were filled with Goldeneye/Perfect Dark , Mario Party and Smash Bros. , among other games.

----------------------------

Dallow , since you brought up Turok , did you ever end up playing the next gen Turok they released last year?

I wish games didn't cost money because I want to buy them.

I wish I had less games to play right now. I'm playing Banjo, Banjo N&B (at the end of those two), Suikoden and FFVII (a few hours in each), Prince of Persia (some amount of hours in), Valkyria Chronicles (sorta in the middle IIRC), and that's just the recent stuff that I've been playing.

Let's discuss how I want to play Donkey Kong 64 and no one else does.

When I edited that last line in, the "Save" button in the Quick Edit said "Show Spoiler". ????????!
How come no one ever mentions Jet Force Gemini?

I LOVED that game
Jet Force Gemini was a good game , up until the last boss who totally sucked. Never did end up beating him.

Yes, Jet Force Gemini was amazing at the time. I remember the graphics being amazing and it was an utter epic experience. I don't think I ever beat it, because it was at a time when you did not have to beat a game (nerd points did not exist... those days were nice).
Send me Ico.
Sorry man - it's rated Teen.

I had a lot of fun with Bomberman 64. Probably my favorite one, minus the terrible single player campaign, but the mutliplayer was epic. Knocking your friend out then throwing him out into the water was some good times. :p

Anyone remember silicon valley? That was a glitchy piece of shit even for back then, but I loved and played the shit out of it. Wish I still had that patience...

Played a bit of MHU today... damn the load times are fast with the install...

Also some Flower/S/R... definitely I can see how that game lead to Killer 7. Some crazy dead giveaways that it's a Suda 51 game and tha's a plus.

StarKnight:
Just the demo for it which I found AWFUL!
Was missing the solitude/mystery of the original game and felt super generic.

FPS's focus on puzzles now? :whistle2:k
