wait... when does afrika release? i totally forgot that one :(

September to october is going to kill my wallet, but after that there's nothing really other than uncharted 2.
9/22 for Afrika.
College tomorrow
Make sure you drink your face off tomorrow instead of staying in and playing video games.

I've been dating the same girl since before I started college. Be social. I was in a single room freshman year (university at buffalo, computer engineering) and you have got to be social or you won't get as much out of it as you should.

Also, don't let drugs/alcohol get in the way of school (man I feel like an old fogey as a senior).

The only games I'll be buying are

- Halo: ODST
- Marvel: UA2
- Uncharted 2

For my birthday I'll ask for
- Beatles Rock Band
- Modern Warfare 2
- Maybe PSPgo (if not, then Guitar Hero 5, Ratchet & Clank and Katamari)

I'll just rent
- Assassin's Creed 2
- DiRT 2
- WET
- Dragon Age Origins
- Borderlands
- any of those other games if I get a PSPgo.

When will I have time for any of these games? Nooo fucking clue.

Uncharted 2 and MW2 are the only day 1's for me this year, with lots of buy later on titles like Demon Souls, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Halo OSTD and a few others. 2010 is going to be a madhouse.

For the rest of this year I'm definitely getting Uncharted 2, MW2, Trine, ODST and possibly GH5. I'd like to get Mini Ninjas, Wet, Brutal Legend, Dragon Age, Demon's Soul, Alpha Protocol, and Borderlands but I'll probably just wait until I can get some sort of deal on them.

only thing im for sure getting is brutal legend since i got it for 50% off thanks to the cash card deal

and i have scribblenauts preordered on amazon not sure if i'll keep it though

edit: well i just stupidly placed an order for ToV and a graphic novel for free shipping
im going to tell myself its ok since i got paid like $32 to sit in class for 4 hours(tutoring training)

Aw yeah, finished that Batman Arkham.

I don't understand the complaints about the last fight...
That slow motion Batman/Joker punch when Bats has the explosive goo on his glove is one of the coolest videogame images I've seen in a long time.

Gamefly can have their game back now. I don't think I'll bother digging around for all the secrets/riddles.

Come on GameFly, send me a game! It would be easier for both parties if it would just say if a game is available or not; instead of High (75%), Medium (50-74%), or Low (25-49%).

I'll probably only buy MW2 between now and Christmas.

On my radar:
Tekken 6
Assassin's Creed 2
Borderlands

When it drops to dirt cheap:
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
Uncharted 2

Guys - I really like videogames.

Metroid Prime Trilogy is a great idea. I think I knew how awesome Prime 1 was, but i just kind of forgot. Shit, that game is good, and even better with pointer controls. I wish every Wii FPS just exactly used the Metroid Prime 3/Trilogy controls. Because they are perfect. Maybe even better than dual analog?

Kinda want to try World at War now on Wii.

Also, Batman is really, really good. Like maybe best of the year good.

It looks okay. Not like...pay for money okay, though.

I beat Castle Crashers this morning for the 4th time. It's still very rewarding to play. Also put some timed in Metroid Prime 2. Um...I got lost for a good half hour combined on 2 spots very early on in the game because 2 scan points were in these little alcoves that I didn't see. It made me pretty mad.

I think you've finally drunk yourself retarded...

:whistle2:(
Linkin Park? really? Everyone here is obsessed with Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. School here has tons of girls, just not in my classes (which does have its advantages).
Yea =/ it is ether that or they listen to screamo/emo shit. Though it has been fun though (that past 2 nights I have been playing rock band with 6 girls ^_^). Loving Texas so far, everyone is so laid back here.

Try the demo, srsly. It's worth it just for the experience, even if you don't feel you want to play any more. And 240 ms points is better than spending it on a theme, or avatar clothing. I don't think there's much else non-indie game related to get if you have that amount extra laying around. I think I had 260 on my account.

2 questions for anyone that can answer them. I'm pretty sure I know the answers already , but I'm just double checking before I go ordering any cables off of monoprice.

1)The highest quality video output cables that each of these systems can use is:
PS2 and Wii : Component
360 and PS3 : HDMI

2)Generally any kind of the above cables will work just fine for the systems. No special or system specific cables are needed.

Would the above be correct or not?
Batman: AA finally proves that Metroidvania games can work in 3D
Don't say that. Don't say that at all.

I wasn't wowed by the demo, but saying the above makes it almost impossible to say no to.

It's way better than the last 2 DS 'Vanias
The Metroid Prime games didn't prove this already?
Like I'd play gaymes on the :wii: or :gc:...

I'm hooked on Warhawk again. I'm terrible at it, but i enjoy it so much.
I need to start playing it again. Its really enjoyable to just play a couple of hours.

and Batman:AA is very Metroid Lite. (Also, Chronicles of Riddick).

I get more of a metroid feeling from it. But then I'm going for all the riddler shit. And it's so good. I played so much of it today. I think I'm just going to finish it.

I do wish it wasn't such a pain to scan. At least on the PS3 version I have a hard time using L2 to scan as much as possible.

Hey, you laugh, but I got Uncharted for $7 out of pocket. Anything more than $10-$15 and I would've never bought it. I don't care about multiplayer for the new one, so I don't have to worry about the community dying before I play and the only thing left would be to play coop, but my boy maklershed has such a deep seated love for the franchise, he'll have his copy still by the time I get it. :D
...
So then you disagree that the Metroid Prime games showed that a 3D Metroidvania style game could work and could be good? (Leaving out the factor that it was a GC/Wii game)

Batman is like Metroid?
Well, I guess it does have those rectangular maps...

Streets of Fury that jer linked to I played a few days ago.
I went ahead and paid for the full version, I usually enjoy a game that can at least make me laugh.

Raystorm HD is looking so great!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLQMKUMtgQg

And Raiden 4 this week too! (according to GS's website at least)

Metroid Prime didn't feel like an NES / SNES-style Metroid(vania) title.

It felt like a simple gerbil-tunnel FPS with a glossy Metroid skin.

I suppose I could see that. I still feel it hit just the right notes though to feel like what it should have felt like. I think the transition from an exploration focus to a more combat focus is kinda inevitable in the transition from 2D to 3D. But to each their own.

It was really impressive to look at though , and had a really nice soundtrack IMO (not really related to the point at had , just thought I bring that up).

I think the best thing about Metroid Prime was the atmosphere and how well they did the environment.

I think Retro was afraid to do a lot of branching/backtracking stuff like Super Metroid did because it was the first metroid done that way. MP3 does a lot more with using the space effectively to lead you around the way that the Super Metroid and after games do.

MP1 is still one of my favorite games ever. Can't wait to play it again in widescreen with the pointer.

Hey I finished batman, just gotta get all the riddler stuff now. The worst is finding those teeth! They're so small and easy to miss one or two. I think the biggest connection to Metroid is like I said, the sense of place and how the environment is used so well. Also putting little hidden shit everywhere you can't find unless you get this or that doodad. Also the detective "win visor" could be traced back to the X-Ray visor in Super Metroid, if you try hard enough. It's got a lot of other influences too, bioshock, splinter cell, assassin's creed, eternal darkness, ninja gaiden(in combat/counters, sorta) etc.

Generally speaking, how loud is the fan on your 360s? My fan seems like it's constantly on and whines in and out of overdrive... maybe I notice it more because I play most of my games off the HDD? :|

Finished Batman AA on Saturday, I did enjoy it but the last 2 battles were a bit disappointing. I think I need a bit of a break from it before I go back and collect all the Riddler stuff.

Played a bit of Too Human yesterday, after initially not really liking it I started to get into it a bit more. I'll either play through it or get Sacred 2 as I fancy playing through a dungeon crawler.

Hi ben - Touch of Satan is up there on my favorites list. I love the 70s feel of it (kinda weird I guess) and the main girl in that movie is really hot.

Morning Mak

Yeah I'd probably have hit that myself, Touch of Satan is a great Ep, some classic Riffs, I even liked the host segments.

"Grandma killed a cop, I'm locked in the barn, something just doesn't feel right here"

"Well I suppose I should go and say goodbye to the fish"

I picked up Rifftrax Vol 2 off Amazon last week, should show up today so I'll probably watch it this weekend.:bouncy:

I've not seen that ep yet, it's in the last season isn't it ?

EDIT - Just checked and I've seen the Short for that ep, the one about the springs, one of the best shorts ever.

Oh wow .. that's in my top 5 favorites. I highly recommend you check it out. And yes it was in the last season.

And to keep us on track: In Batman AA how do you dissipate the laughing gas stuff that Harley sets off in the guard room? I can get to the top of the side room and look across the room to see the security box that runs to the fan but I can't hit it and I can't make that security card device reach it either (and I have it leveled up). I have a similar problem nearby where there's a flooded hallway with electric units in it but the power box is at the end of the hall and I can't reach it with anything.

I play games off the HDD because the dvd drive sounds like a jet taking off. Can't stand it.

Yeah, I just don't like that hum of the fans... Reminds me of laptop fans that sound like they're having throuble keeping up...

I'm wondering if it's worth dropping $25 or so on the whisper max fans with the nitro switch -- I know it'd be a louder whoosh if I leave it on 12v continuously, but if it keeps my 360 alive, I'm guess it's worth it.

Has anyone ever been banned from live for having a fan mod? :whistle2:s
