I didn't see this mentioned anywhere, and when I mentioned it another trade thread, it sounded like no one knew about it.

Anyway, In the new May Catalog B&M, the one with Star Wars on the front, it lists:

Trade your N64 plus 6 games for $50 credit. Since they sell the used systems in-store for $17.99, this may be YMMV.

Also works for trade PSX plus 5 games for $50.

Thanks Xclaude for the scan!

It is so strange to trade in older stuff, as there is so much out there in the older generation that just baffles the mind on the POX lists. I traded in my PSX last month and 5 crap games for a measly $25....or something...but of course, this was my lil' bro's crap PSX. I am not sure that it even worked that well, or well at all. I took in a handful of crap games, and it was funny that some real crap sports games were PO and how some good games were POX. It was very random.

well im off to try and get a free psp out of this deal.

should i succeed, the spoils will be plentyful.

should i fail, a ps1 and an n64 shall be added to my trade list ^^

Do you remember any of the games that were POX?

don't worry, just show them the May catalog's ad.

On one of my previous post, I made a scan of the page to show u guys. But I think you should just go grab one of those catalog when you guys are there.

The ad is on page 14. I would think they honor the ad since I DOUBT it's a simple miss print... It says big and bold the $50 AND it has pictures of $50 bills on the bottom... there's no mistaken that they MEANT $50. :)

Went & cashed in on this this morning. Had a little trouble getting it to go - apparently one of the games I took was POX (Turok Rage Wars) and so they were thinking the deal was a no-go. First they said it all only traded for $25, that the $50 deal was for a Gamecube. So I showed them the ad. Then they said since it says at the top of the ad "Upgrade Your System" that meant the credit had to go towards a new system. I politely insisted that that's not how the deal reads. The manager then started looking into it further and discovered the Turok problem. I pulled out a DK64 I had in my pocket and said "I brought a spare, just in case of that." ;)

I wasn't going to be shafted out of ANOTHER advertised deal this weekend.

Is there anyway to get a POX list of games for PS1 and 64? I've got two PS1s I never use and my 64 which I barely touch once or twice a year.

I guess I can at least list the N64 games I traded that did qualify. They were:

Mario 64
Pokemon Stadium 1&2
Mario Golf
DK64
Mario Party 3

Maybe that will help someone...

Thanks hotwls13!!!

ill post the story about it later ^^

ok ok, story time.

ok so i didnt have anything at all to do yesterday, and i thought it would be a fun challenge to see if i could get a psp without spending a dime (only using current store credit i had, and trading in stuff that has been on my tradelist for a while) Well, i failed at that goal (as you will see in the tally) but i do still have 3 big items from my tradelist left, and hopefully ill be able to bring the total back to $0 on that.

from around noon to 9 at night i was running between game stores, buys a ps1 here, trading it here, it was alot of footwork, and killed about half a tank of gas as well. i stopped at 4 eb games, and 4 local buy/sell/trades. (it might not sound like much work, but navigating around pittsburgh, and especially through 4 malls on a saturday leaves a bit to be desired.)

after my 2nd eb i ran into a problem. flat fucking tire. this pissed me off because i had already gotten $100 in credit and was WELL on my way to hitting my goal. so i checked it out and there was a screw right in the center tread of my tire, but it was still holding air, but it would lose about 20 ppi in an hour, luckily i have an air compressor in my car, so after every stop i would just air up my tire a bit and it would run fine (with me hoping the screw wouldnt pop out and the tire blow while going 60)

so i hit one more eb with my tire like that, bringing my total up to $200, and at this point im thinking i should stop pressing my luck on that tire, so i pull in to a car store and get a patch kit, which i could not get to work. im bad with cars, so i go back in, explain the situation (the product kept breaking off) and someone comes out to help me, and he cant get it either!!

at this point im thinking im not gunna hit the goal, because now my tired is TOTALLY flat since i had to take the screw out and could not get it patched. but we go back int he store and he gived me a different kind of patch (the first was a rubbery patch, this is sticky) so i go back out and i got it to work on the first try! so i air up my tire and im back in business!

so i head out to the 3rd and final EB, which has used psp's in stock for $215. so i ask if i can check out what they have, and the girl was very over protective of letting me do this, but i found one that looked good, and she told me if there was anything wrong i could return it in 14 days, so i thought, fair enough. the best part about this is that since i bought used merch with store credit, i didnt get charged tax! saving me $15 right there! i was going to get a logitech case, since thats what everyone claims is the best, but they were sold out of it, so ill have to wait a few days. so after a days " work" i have a psp (with box, case, strap, sampler, cloth, and ac cord) and a $35 gift card left.

so again, thanks to the OP for bringing this to my attention, and thanks to eb for allowing me to take advantage of their trade-in deals once again.
You traded in GOOD games?! What's wrong with you?
Eh, they were all games I had lying around collecting dust. Plus you'll notice every one of those is a Nintendo title, so odds are good they'll be downloadable on the Revolution anyway. ;)

I *did* keep my Paper Mario tho...

I'm actually excited about this, but for a different reason. Hopefully this will mean that my local EB will be getting in some good N64 game now and I'll be able to add to my collection some games I have been looking for, like Mario Tennis.

Just got back from EB with $100.00 credit. I put $50.00 of it towards a 360 since they still have preorders from their first shipment left. I took in 6 N64 games, but 1 was on the POX list, so he helped me find a cheap game that wasnt excluded. I also walked out with a shit load of display stuff for the Revenge of the Sith game. The guy there was awesome. This is now my new EB and the best EB Experience I have ever had. This is the EB on Cleveland Rd in Elkhart, IN.
Thanks hotwls13!!!

ill post the story about it later ^^
Punq, you know the DS sig you had, you should totally make that PSP picture your new sig.

No luck yard saling yesterday. I am going to day to get me a N64 for myself. They have a ton of them, and I am going to try to get a Watermelon (red) or Jungle green one. Some guys have said they are getting them for $10?? Mine has them for $17.99. I am also going to trade one of my other ones with 6 crappy games. If all goes well, I may take my pikachu N64 in tomorrow to trade in.

The guys at my EB were cool, one of the games I brought in didn't qualify, and they typed it in as one of the other games so it would work. I also only brought one controller with me, so they did both trade ins and let me come back later with another controller.

I traded in a large PS1 w/ these games:

Madden 2001
Twisted Metal 3
Spec Ops (3 different versions)

I got them all @ a different EB for $1.99 or less BC.

There are a ton of cheap N64 games that are not POX. I bought 12 different games for $1.49-$1.99 that I will use w/ this deal.

Here are some to look out for:

Star Wars Racer - $1.49
Madden 2001 - $1.99
NBA Courtside - $1.99
WCW/NWO Revenge - $1.49
Ken Griffey Jr.'s Slugfest - $1.99
All-Star Baseball 2000 - $1.99

First off, you only need 1 controller with the N64 as that is what came with them new. Now for my trip:

I went hoping to get a nice watermelon or jungle green N64 plus some credit. Bad news, they only had the black ones. :( Oh well I traded in a black N64 with 1 crappy controller and the following games:

Perfect Dark
Monster Truck
Pokemon Snap
Star Wars Pod Racer
Star Wars Fighter
Monopoly (british version)

Funny thing is, I got all of the above plus 5 more games at a Yard Sale last weekend for $10.

Now I have $180 credit on my edge card. I am kinda gettin low on funds, so I will have to figure out how to turn that $180 in credit to $$$.

Big thanks to XClaude for posting that catalog scan - the EB I went to didn't have any of the catalogs on display and when he had a question about the deal I just whipped out a printed copy and said "I have a copy of the ad right here."

He said "well we have to do it" and upped the trade in values to total $50. Before the adjustment the value of the trade-ins (6 N64 games, one console plus a controller and hook-ups) was about $2.75. Pathetic. Granted, I did trade in crap games, but come on! Anyways the EB was pretty cool and I ended up with $30 credit and a copy of Paper Mario for the Cube. For some reason they didn't charge me tax on my Paper Mario either. WTF.

For the record, here's what I traded in:

N64 System, A/V cable, AC Adapter and a third-party controller

Games: All had boxes & instructions:

WCW vs NWO World Tour
ECW Hardcore Revolution
Quake II
Hey You Pikachu
Olympic Hockey 98
Indy Racing 2000

They were pretty suprised that my games were in good shape. The guy was like "These are like brand new!". I take care of my stuff, shouldn't be that shocking.

ive traded in disc only ps1 games with no problem, but i only did 1 or 2 at a time, if all 5 were disc only they might reject them
ive traded in disc only ps1 games with no problem, but i only did 1 or 2 at a time, if all 5 were disc only they might reject them
Alright. I'll try this tomorrow and tell you guys how it goes. As a kid - I never really took care of a lot of my psone games (except for my rpg's). It'll be interesting to see if they take the games back. Some have instructions, others don't.

Wouldn't worry about it. Most stores would rather have the bonus trade in credit then turn away customers who are missing 1 or 2 manuals or cases.

I took in 6 N64 games, but 1 was on the POX list, so he helped me find a cheap game that wasnt excluded.

WTF? The people at my EB are jerks (there's an older manager-looking guy who's there a lot too). They'd probably make me trade in 6 with boxes and instructions.

Same with the other guy who said the clerk typed in a POX as a PO for him.

There are over 1500 EB stores, and believe it or not, most of the employees are not jerks (if you consider them jerks by just doing their job, then I shake my head at you)

A manager who's older looking and works the most hours? You're pulling my leg, aren't you? What type of messed up EB do you go to?

All of those boxes went immediately into the trash...*sigh*

I've got...

Legend of dragoon Complete
Megaman X5 complete
breath of fire III w/ instructions
FF Tactics w/ instructions
Chocobo racing disc only

Here's hoping they take it...

*edit* If I have a non-working x4 - do they still take those and disc doctor them or something?

No problem man. Glad my crappy scan did SOMEBODY some good. :bouncy:

I'm still waiting for my games to actually go and do the trade. I just scored 5 PS1 games on ebay for $2.25 (plus $5.35 shipping), which totals to be $7.60. I gotta wait 2 more weeks before I can go do the trade cuz I'm still at school and finals are comming.
