What are "rogue" games?
Did you pre-order at $79.99 Mak ?
I did, so I'll be checking to see if it drops to $66.99 as it should under their pre-order price guarantee. I also changed my shipping to "release day" which wasn't offered before.
Yep. I sincerely doubt it will drop automatically but maybe I'm wrong. And I didn't get a "release day" shipping option either. Can you change now after the fact?
Do em yourself Mak -- I haven't done any past 38 or wherever I stopped except I tried the last 3. I did 54... 55 and 56? fuck a duck.

fuck a motherfucking duck.
I've completed every challenge except for 52, 53, 54, and 56. I have zero clue how to do them.

Yep, just go to your order and update the shipping option, "release day" shipping is the last option I think and is free for people with Prime.

EDIT - Happy Birthday JSP.

54 wasn't bad.
56 is the devil.
you have to be quick and precise... I could get about halfway before I'd screw up and have to start over.

So I listed a ton of old games on amazon in the last week.

One of them was bought by someone working at treyarch. Yes, the treyarch that makes the less good Call of Dutys. (Except Big Red One was awesome)

I checked the address on their website and it was in fact treyarch.

They bought a copy of Super Mario All-Stars on SNES, btw. Good taste!

Played several of the challenges in BCR. At first I played thru the first set, and then I just started picking some random ones. Then I tried some of the few special hidden challenges that I've managed to find, and those things are almost impossible.

Gonna do some grinding in Xenosaga today to get some monies to buy some loot before attempting the final dungeon.

Happy B-day JSP!! The Jesus_S_Preston Phenomenon???
sticking in your ear to hear the music?
Hah!

No, there's this little plastic white thing and then this little, square translucent thing. I have no clue what they're for and they aren't mentioned in the instructions.

Its a stand for your Ipod Touch.

Done. Thanks for the heads up. Also, my order price did automatically change to $66.99. Kudos to Amazon.

Plastic white thing is probably the dock.

I have a friend at Treyarch. I think she's working on the new CoD.

And when I say she's working, she's working. They never stop working.

yeah I think they get a little bit too much shit, especially since CoD3 would have been a rushed mess if it was developed by anybody. World at War looks very good.

My PS3 80GB (MGS4 bundle) is up on Craigslist for $650. I put a very high price just because I'm still iffy to sell it, but for $650 I'd sell it immediately.

$650 should buy a very capable computer, right?
World at War looks very good.

how many world war 2 time period games can you make?!

your XBL name kicks ass, by the way.

It's the shitty "dock" they include with iPods.

I'm glad the iPhone comes with a proper dock.

aw damn, guess I'll have to start saving for that $800 graphics card..
You'll need at least $2,000 more dollars for a decent PC.
Agreed. $650 won't even get you close to what a PS3 can do.

Not saying you shouldn't sell your PS3, if that's what you want, but I wouldn't expect a gaming-quality PC for that price.

I'm tempted to get Mercs 2. PS3 possible for me.

I think I'm going to put Loco Roco and Dracula X Chronicles on Goozex.

Trying to find a sub $40 Madden 09... any thoughts?

Well, technically you can get a PS3 quality PC for pretty cheap. It depends on what parts you salvage and it also depends on how optimized for PC the particular game or game engine you're playing/using is. There's a lot of variables you have to take into account here.

Eh, not disagreeing with you, but for me that's way too much hassle. At least the console will just work without having worry about all that, be it 360 or PS3.

For me personally, I'd want parts/performance that would exceed the $650 budget pretty easily.

As for Daroga's Madden question, do you have a Target in your area? I saw a thread on CAG about possible clearance prices on the CE version.
Eh, not disagreeing with you, but for me that's way too much hassle. At least the console will just work without all that extra work, be it 360 or PS3.
Oh, it's definitely a hassle and a lot more pricey, it's one of the reasons I prefer consoles over PCs myself.

I feel the same way.

Plus as soon as I start building a PC, I'm thinking "quad-core" "4+GB RAM" and "500GB HDD" which puts my rig out of the budget category already as I haven't even gotten to video, sound card, and optical drive. At least right now.

I wish I could keep the PS3, but the prices the 80GB MGS4 pack is demanding make it tough. I do enjoy it.. maybe I'll keep it and just wait until I get a job to get a PC.. I dunno.

$650 can get you a pretty good machine, if you just buy the parts off newegg and put it together yourself.. I think?

3Ghz core duos only cost like $200, right?

just curious.......because i've been tempted a few times to actually buy one.......why do you think they are demanding high prices or are rare? it looks like ebay has routinely sold them in the $450 range, and i've seen them all over our area at Best Buy and Target. I even checked the GameStop locator and a few have it in stock there too. just wondering how this might be worth $650? because if it is getting rare, i might want to get one soon......

Resistance, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Warhawk, MGS4, Motorstorm. Some PSN stuff too, but you know about that.

The more the day goes on, the more I just think I'll keep it. $650 is way too high.. I might ditch it if I got close to $550 for it.

Are you selling games individually jer?

Also, you don't need a quad core. Games can't take advantage of it yet, in fact it can hinder performance IIRC.

That's the other thing is that this PC shit is so confusing to me that I don't even want to deal with it..
http://ps3.ign.com/articles/902/902660p1.html

3rd one hands down.
Agreed and voted.
Just started Stranglehold. That's pretty fun in the same way God of War is. No depth, yet somehow satisfying.
The later stages get more interesting and destructible, enjoy.
That's the other thing is that this PC shit is so confusing to me that I don't even want to deal with it..
Confusing how?

Whenever I get around to getting Mercs 2, it'll be for PC.

I got Stranglehold for PC for $7 at Target last year. I haven't beaten it though, but I got pretty far.

Oh, and happy birthday, JSP!! Enjoy that iPod Touch.

it always feels like you're going to get ripped off with PC stuff because it's so nebulous and the info is so scattered and heresay.

I have no idea what a 8800b23 4GT double supreme core EXTRA is vs a 550388GT Dual Heat Fan Cored Blah Blah blah bullshit is.

Jer, it's really not that bad. I had some help from a local guy building mine last year, and it was painless. If you do go through with it, just have another computer hooked up to the internet while you're building in case you need help, or just have a friend help you.

Also, you don't have to go all out to run games. I'm sitting on a 7900 GS, AMD 3800+ (almost as low end as amd dual cores go) and 2 gigs of ram. I can run most everything just fine. Hell, even crysis works alright on normal settings.

8800 GT's can be had for as low as 100 bucks. You can get a good dual core processor for under 150. Hard drives are cheap. 4 gigs of ram is like 80 bucks. Cases are cheap, hell you could recycle your case and dvd drive you have now. A decent motherboard is only 120.

A rig like that will run virtually anything you throw at it. You don't NEED a quad core, or a GTX 280 to play games.
