With my new Gamestop's buy 2 get 1 free, that PS3(PS2/PSP) coupon, and my EDGE I get 35% off used PS3 games and when I buy 2, get the 3rd free.

Heavenly Sword, Skate, and Orange Box for $43.

Going to buy Uncharted from Puma for $25. And traded Bioshock on gametz for Resistance.

To go along with MLB 08: The Show, GTA IV, Motorstorm, and Ratchet ToD.

A ha, well I enjoyed that bit of nostalgia. Those were good times. Yeah, the thread got a little stale around September or so, but prior to that, it was top notch shit.

I like/don't like how you called yourself Chacranajxy. Or that you asked for chairs. I got dibs on that you son of a bitch!

Anyway, I got to skhool yesterday and I'm already pretty pissed, becoz I got a single room this year, but it turns out that their definition of single room is actually "walk-in closet." This would make a nice sized bathroom, but not a dorm room. And like, I have a 4' x 6' rug, and because of how the room's shaped, that won't even fit. I should really take some pics when I get a chance so ya'll can laugh at my plight. It's also kinda funny, because we inexplicably have a conference room in our hall, like people are all gung-ho to fuckin' discuss things in a formal setting. There's also a kitchen on our floor, but it's actually a room with a microwave. I'm not Gordon Ramsay, but I'm a damn good cook and I can tell you for a fact that a gourmet dinner is not made in a motherfucking microwave. But yeah, I'm tryin' to find a single room apartment because my school is clearly fucking retarded. Apparently with high academic standards comes a jewish approach to housing.

Classes look easy so far, tho. I mean, I'z finished all the tough classes I gotta take and done extremely well so it's like "ay yo, whatevar." I'll have a lot more free time from now on, it seems, and I already had a shitload.

But I bought the Les Miserables book (unabridged), so that 1400 page monstrosity should keep my busy. That and FFIV.

I really only said I was you because I was hoping he would remember that name and flip.
And I didn't think that he would actually buy into me wanting his chairs.
I mean, but how could I resist? He had TREE KHAIRZ!

Yeah, most major universities have pretty bad housing. The UW (where I go!), has 3 people occupying like a 8x10 room or some ridiculousness like that.

God damn primus, you are a machine. You don't happen to live in Oklahoma do you? I need to hit up that gamestop and get all the PS3 games I've been wanting.

Eh, it's not really a major university though... it's like 2000 people. But like, the biggest this room is at any point is like 11 x 7. But it's angled, so most of the room is smaller than that. Considering how expensive going here is, it's a fucking insult.

Reading and listening to all the Skate 2 hype (1UP FM) is making me want Skate, my Irish co-worker who is here on a Visa was hyping me on Orange Box once I found out he has a 360 and PC, and Heavenly Sword I rented a few months ago but didn't complete. So why not for $14 a piece? :)

I would help you out Puma for cost+shipping (would only be a few dollars probably) but I don't have cash on me at the moment. Have to ask the rents for the $40 and they can take it out of my bank account.

I never lived at school. I let my parents continue feeding me and washing my clothes until I got married and moved out.

Tales of Vesperia is so close!

I live in North America. I know Region 2 DVDs won't play on my standard-issue American DVD player, but will they play on my PC? I never watch DVDs on my PC, is there a certain program I need to use or would it just, like, play?

Well I remember back when that was an issue for me that you could change the region of your PC DVD drive 5 times, though there were definitely programs to change it without limitations. That was back like 6 or 7 years ago, so it's probably easy to take care of now.

Finally getting the pieces that ReRo did for me printer. Shutterfly better not botch this up.

Now, how/where to hang them...?

Yeah, PC DVD drives still have region lock after x number of uses.

The only problem with the GS PS3 coupon is that I own pretty much everything I want that's out already. And the stuff I don't have like Resistance or Motorstorm have sequels that I will get instead.

Still contemplating Civ Rev, but not sure I'm gonna go through with picking it up (assuming I can find a used copy). ToV and Mercs 2 will take all my time very shortly anywayz.

duck tape works >_< jk

awesome :)

oh and chac, I get a sense you need(ed) to vent.

lol yeah, a little bit. This school has screwed me over so many times it's ridiculous. I'm starting to question whether the academic standards are even worth it...

lul, I'm so disinterested in school, I dunno how I even do as good as I do.

 I can relate. Pre-art school for me sucked when going to a major university where nobody gives a shit about you unless it's about money.

And college paperwork sucks balls and ass. that's all I'll say.

Not a bad day gaming wise. Some Uncharted (started chapter 11, on some massive gun fight that I just gave up on before I had to get grilling for supper), Geometry Wars 2 (Smile achievement, I will make you mine!), Galaga Legions (continues to get more awesome), and Burnout Paradise (got the Cagney update and a few steps closer to my A license).

Add that to sleeping in till almost 9 and getting a lot of work done besides, and I'd call it a kick-butt day.

Time for bed!
apartment paperwork is worse!
yo, whatever I gotta fill out is gonna be worth it. I sent linkpwns the pics I took on my cell phone of the current room and he just rofled at me. He wasn't even sure what he was looking at.

That smile 'cheez is mad difficult.
That and the one for finishing sequence.
Wish I could get my game straight for the Pub Games Keystone tourneys... 4 more and I can 200/200 that sonbitch.

More of the same today - cod2 sp and brawl online.

Brawl didn't seem to lag but for some reason, I didn't have any fun with it. I think I finally crapped out from that game..

no time for anything today... I'm on CAG instead of playing games -_-

stay frosty yallz

Rats GS doesn't have ES PS3 available for pre-order yet.

Replenished my credit there with teh 10/20/30% (20/30/40%).

Wonder if I should wait on getting RB2 game only, or if I should just bite the bullet and get it when it comes out.

Then again, they had Civ Rev used on hand. Arrgh. I decided to hold off one more day. If it's still available tomorrow, I'm gonna use the coupon for it. >_
Izuna 2 is hard. It is really fun though. Makes me sad I missed the first one. I should track it down.
Kendal, do you have any BlockBuster GameRushes near you? You may check there. Most of the ones around here got the first one in new. They're $30 new, but that's cheaper than some other places.

So the first day of school wasn't bad, I have a prof that will potentially ruin a class that should be a fun class. This morning I have an 8 am class and then I am done. So, probably more Final Fantasy IV, or lots more audiosurf after class.
I think it's very unlikely.

Anyone have thoughts on Ys I & II?
Five words: Yuzo Koshiro soundtrack. Redbook audio. *in game music dork mode*

I've never played the game myself, but it has been in my "must play at some point" stack for quite awhile. The combat system looks pretty... different. Anyway, gonna download it once FFVII's wrapped up, maybe sooner. There's a decent overview/review of the game here.

I use VLC on my Mac (there's a Windows version as well), which allows me to get around the changing-regions-five-times thing. The program is a little flaky sometimes, but otherwise excellent.
I think I know the answer to this, but anyone getting Spore?
Like Rei, I'll wait and see. Besides, there's other time-sink games I want more that are coming out around that time.
Time for a call to Amazon customer service. :)
Did you pre-order at $79.99 Mak ?
I did, so I'll be checking to see if it drops to $66.99 as it should under their pre-order price guarantee. I also changed my shipping to "release day" which wasn't offered before.

Morning GGT,

Played some more C&C3 last night, and that was about it.

I also managed to order Mario Kart Wii on Amazon this morning, it was gone by the time I got to work.

Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon worth getting for 10 bucks? Radioshack has the new ones for 20 each, and a ten dollar off 40 coupon. The games trade in at BB for 20, so I could trade one in and keep the other.

I'm gonna pick up Heavenly Sword if I can find it cheap.

I haven't played Persona. Essentially, you have randomly generated dungeons that you can revisit. Lots of revisting.

Personally, I love pokemon, but the mystery dungeon was disappointing to me. Cute story and generally a good use of the roguelike model, but I wanted a special pokemon I could import to Pearl/Diamond.

Same here, but I'm pretty turned off by the "run directly into your enemy" battle system. Then I read that the PC versions fix this, but thats a lot more of a pain to get than a Wii VC game. So I will probably just end up never playing it.

Summon Night: Twin Age is shorter than I initially thought, though a bit longer than the Swordcraft Story games. I dropped my screen brightness to avoid the red light so I could finish chapter 19 out of 20, just about at the 12.5 hour mark.

The two Sequence achievements are indeed evil. I figured I'd try to get both at once. In my attempts, I've gotten kinda far and then messed something up a few times, so just tried to finish it off. Each time, I've died on the last square. Stupid game. Stupid, stupid, awesome game.
It would be my first unless Persona counts.
I think Rogue games lack the emphasis on story and party assembly, and stick directly to dungeon crawling and simple battles. Persona involves a lot of NPC interaction, story segments, party customization and monster fusing. I believe Persona could be strictly classified as a dungeon crawler/dating simulation JRPG.

Going to school, working, and kids sure do take a toll on the gaming time. Sometimes I wish I could be bum and sit around playing games all day. I probably won't be playing anything till Friday night:cry:
