ohhh. yeah, i guess the designs are similar.

i played a little williams pinball after lunch. i love the game, but not the way you have to unlock shit to play every table. They should just make everything available off the bat. The credit thing is also unnecessary, IMO.

Tonight...more Madden, GRiD, and HSG:OoB, I think.

I loved the zombies. Sure it didn't make sense from a story perspective but I didn't take the game seriously in the first place. They really changed up the pacing of the enemies. I found the part of the game in the dark part of the Nazi base to be almost scary. I was never sure where the enemies were coming from and was running all over the place trying to survive. I have never played a real survival-horror game (so maybe thats why I liked it so much) and I really liked how that changed the game. At least there weren't aliens.
 
Lot of Cod2 single player and Smash online for me lately...tons of fun with those though

Looks like I'll have to revert to my old tradelist (no more randoms) soon :cry:

Agreed. At that point in the game, you really needed a break from stop and pop.
 
Did a few things tonight.
Played lots of Head Coach 09. Solid game.
Watched V For Vendetta on HDDVD. Looked beautiful and was a great movie IMO.
Bought Outpost Kaloki X on XBLA. Great game so far.
Going to play BG&E for a bit then I'm going to sleep.
 
Finally played the audiosurf demo and I liked it. Thing is, it was choppy on my (integrated...rofl) graphics card.

I've got a spare that I don't know if it works or not, if it does then looks like audiosurf will be bought tomorrow!
 
Since I really enjoy Tales games, when Tales of Vesperia is in my hand that's all I'll play. I felt like posting this for some reason.

Dammit does the pacing of DBZ really take the piss out of the show. It would be a million times better it they re-edited the show without the filler to keep up with the manga.

I really want to try that new Dragon Ball Origins game. It looks neat. Also looks really good for a DS game.

why the hell is Fallout 3 out same day as Fable 2? I don't give a poop about fable 2, but I just think the release time isn't smart.

Those two were leagues better on PC. I was going to rip through Jedi Academy for fun because I wanted to choke and fry some stormtroopers. :)

I think I might have played that on a PS1 back in the day. But it's safe to say it probably sucked(at least on the PS1). I think it might have come out before the dual shock as well.

Edit: yeah it did come before the Dual Shock.
 
Morning GGT,

Tried the Force Unleashed demo over the weekend as well. I must say I loved it for about the first minute but once the novelty of throwing things about wore off it got a bit repetetive. Seems like a limited God of War with a SW skin. It looked pretty nice though, if the force powers can be upgraded to add a bit of variety, it might not be too bad. I don't think I'll be paying $60 for it though.

Played some more C&C3 over the weekend and some Fable Pub games on 360. Had a quick got on Resi 4 last night. Not a great weekend for gaming but there it is.
 
Yeah, October 21 blows. If I'm right on the release dates, there are 5 games coming out that day that I want, and I'm probably forgetting some. Luckily, my birthday is on November 15 so I'll have more cash to put with my summer money.

16th this year. Relatives usually send more for your 16th right? :p

And to stay on topic .. I'm thinking maybe I'll sacrifice a Force Unleashed purchase for Tales of Vesperia. Any thoughts on that?

Yeah it was very funny, seemed like a good movie for riffing, with the disco music and the terrible flying effects.

Time Chasers is a quality ep, I've only seen it once but the good thing about MST3k is that it stands up well to repeated viewing.

The latest DVD from Cinematic Titanic turned up on Friday as well :whee:

I was thinking about Tales of Vesperia myself, I fancied a new game for the bank holiday but I don't think it's worth buying another RPG at the mo when I still have Mass Effect and Blue Dragon to play. I'll hope for a deal on something else this week I guess.
 
I would get Mercs 2 but the SOCOM Beta starts the 1st and runs all month so between SOCOM beta and NHL 09 on the 9th my plate will be full.

October the first week if the load times aren't horrendous I'll pick up Motorstorm PR, then FIFA 09 and SOCOM the week after that, then LittleBigPlanet the week after that, then Fallout 3 the week after that, and then Resistance 2 the week after that. :joystick:

There's games in their I'm missing and might want but shit there is something almost every week starting the first week of October until late November.

Played a bit more Xenosaga Ep1 and finally got past the Song of Nepalim part. Unfortunatly, that dungeon didn't give hardly any money, so I'm gonna have to find somewhere to backtrack to so I can afford better equipment before I head towards the final dungeon of the game.

I also played a lot of Warhawk last night too. I'm really looking forward to the newest patch. I think its supposed to come out this Wednesday and adds trophy support and a few other things.

Nope, not yet. :cry: They're saving jetpacks for the next booster pack. The 1.5 patch coming Wed is supposed to contain:
-trophy support
-custom in-game music
-4 offline training tutorials
-new paint styles and insignias
-and a couple other minor things

The booster pack is coming Thursday. It adds the jetpacks and a new map. They're gonna offer a set of all 3 of the booster packs for $15.99, and I'm thinking about picking that up.
 
Beautiful Katamari and The simpsons can be finished before you're off disc 2 of LO.

I'm thinking of buying Ratchet Future today with that coupon, it'd be $34.. but that's still a lot, and it's a guaranteed greatest hit on the next series of them. hmm meh that's a bad idea. I'll just look for jobs and not spend money. I am back in the TF2 mood again.. playing it a lot on 360.

Beat Mega Man on the VC this afternoon. Thank god for save states or I would have been so screwed. I must have played that game for hours and hours as a kid to finally beat that game.

Thankfully Mega Man 2 had a password system.
